in what way are financially responsible for them? what type of responsibilities do you as a sponsor? what kind of consequences could the sponsor have if they werent able to fulfill the sponsorship? can you call the sponsorship off if you need to?
Hi nick and thanks for your comment. If the immigrant receives a public benefit, you the sponsor will pay the cost of that benefit to the agency that provides it. If you fail to do so. you the sponsor can be sued by the agency. Your sponsorship will end if you the sponsor die or the immigrant is accredited with10 years of work in United States or become us citizen.

It’s insane. And they try to make it sound like he deserves it by accusing him of abuse even though he never went to jail for it. All they have as proof is her testimony in court.

This not a legal advice: Normally when you sponsor somebody to come to the US, you are financially responsible for the person so he or she doesn't become a charge for the U.S government and that's the raison behind signing the Affidavit of Support form. In your case what i will recommend you is to talk to a family lawyer to fix that problem.
What if a guy bring his wife n she abondon him in mirrage moved out n living in another state dose he still responsible for her if she abondon the mirage?
