"How long to heal eczema?" / "How long did it take you to heal eczema?" are two very common questions I get across platforms. In this video, I address how long it took me to heal eczema naturally, a little background, why I never address how long it took me to heal eczema in a video and a little encouragement for you
I hope it helps, I hope you will be patient and keep being the Eczema Warrior that you are.
Sending you lots of love,
Dawn

Your tone in this video made me cry because I know how genuine and sincere you are and I do want to get better. I'm going through a rough time with my skin at the moment. I have had skin issues most of my life. Haven't used steroids for 3 months. Still have flare ups from time to time. It has been 8 months now since I've had a flare up and have struggled over this time to control it. Before that I was eczema free for a year or so. I'm going down the healthy eating path. I know over time my skin will get better. I'm eating mostly meat and vegetables. My diet has completely changed and I know if I continue with this, I will get better over time. It gets me down a lot but I know it will be better if I am patient. 😊 Thanks for the videos. It's nice to hear from others how they are dealing with things.

I have been with the worst rashes in my life for almost a year now and it got to the point that even crying was a trigger for my itching. But looking at your videos and taking in your experiences is the best thing anyone could do. Also looking at the comments and seeing I'm not alone made feel so much better. Hey I had my first eczema about four months ago and Its been 3 weeks and I didnt get any flare ups (its a new record for me). What I do is moisture my skin with Cetaphil moisturizing cream (the one for both body and face) every night and twice for my face. I'm not advertising this is base on what I've been done three weeks ago until now. Trust me, the key is to mosture your skin. If cetaphil doesnt work, use CeraVe moisturizing cream instead (because some people found that cetaphil doesnt really work for them). And for diet I stop eating eggs and milk also I reduce meat and sugar. I hoped it also worked for you, sending love 💚💚

Or being patient with my journey to healing or I get angry when my food is totally tasteless and other people are enjoying pizzas... But I'm trying my best and I know deep down that it's all for my best and the returns would be awesome.. With this little hope, I choose to live another day. ❤ lots of love to you and your family ❤❤

Hello! I myself have two types of eczema and have a small channel, and I'm searching on RU-vid for other "eczema related channels" and found your channel. It's very nice to see that I'm not alone in my battle with eczema. My condition is not severe, (thank God) more like moderate. It's largely controlled since I figured out a daily routine and a list of products that don't irritate my skin. But sometimes it still comes back (like during the winter, ugh I hate the winter!) But I have learned to not beat myself so hard and accept that I'm not perfect, and all I can do is do my best! I hope you continue to feel better and stay in remission (doctors like to use that term in between flare ups) I admit I need to improve my diet and exercise more. Working from home is nice but doesn't encourage me to eat right or exercise, haha. So I am trying to do more home exercising and eat more veggies for 2021. Also FYI I'm half Chinese and was born in HK so nice to meet another Cantonese person! ▼
@dawnforlife
@dawnforlife 3 года назад
Ahh how lovely! I do have to say I believe in total healing though..not just remission. Wishing you well! 😊
@NaturallyMonaLisa
@NaturallyMonaLisa 3 года назад
@@dawnforlife I do wish I can get to total healing too. But somehow it's difficult for many people with eczema to get to total healing (especially those with severe cases of eczema and are always being hospitalized and using heavy medications like dupixent). I think a customized management plan of your eczema (avoiding triggers, good diet, use safe products, manager your stress) can help people manage their eczema to which they don't experience a flare up for a very long time. I know some people are so successful to which they have not had a flare up for 1-2 years before it reappears again. That's awesome! Right now my eczema shows up once every 4-8 weeks, compared to previously when it was not properly controlled it was every single week. So that's a great win for me. So I hope to get to eczema free for months or even years. I'm on the right track I think!

Definitely hand sanitisers especially if you are using what's available out there, most have alcohol in them, dries you up and causes flare ups. Rather wash your hands when needed instead of sanitisers and just prevent touching your face. I've cleaned with sanitisers, not more than 10 times throughout this period, only when you really need and have no choice. Take care! :)

I m from Germany. I have Pco and recently also got Neurodermatatis. I went to a doctor here and he gave me cortisone ointment, but because of the huge side effects. I didn’t used it. I tried to drink a lot of water and tea (at least 3-5 liters a day) Sometimes my skin gets better and sometimes more worster. I also noticed with time it’s spreading over other skin areas. Now to my question. How can I find out what actually the cause for my neurodermatitis is, so I can focus on that. I really don’t know how to find it out. Because I. The internet there are so many things they say I should avoid.... Some say avoid for examples tomatoes and others say don’t avoid them.. And my second question is you said it took you some months to see improvements, so in these months. How did you know that this diet was the right diet for you if you saw improvements after some months? I hope you can help me! I m actually very very worried

Thank you for your kind words and blessings! Whatever information you read or hear, my suggestion is always listen to your body first. Do you feel good after? Do you itch more? Also notice your mood. Everything you see and hear is only a guideline. I believe when it comes to eczema and our health, there is not one size fits all. Take information as your guideline and feet. For me, Ayurveda rules make a lot of sense and from my experience, it is true for me. :)

I’m confused, I’ve always had super mild ezema on knuckles during winter if I over wash . At 14 I started getting mild ezema on my hairline but not enough to bother anyone or be noticed . All of a sudden at 33 after getting Covid, worse strep throat I’ve ever had after and ear infections , then kidney stones lol . Then boom one ezemma spot popped up and it grew to my arms and my chest and all over my back, very spotty except one arm covered . It’s been 2.5 months and it’s to say but it might be healing some . I’m 6”2 205. Fairly skinny and eat decent but far from perfect . I don’t know what to do or why this would start at 33.

how is it going for you? i am going through skin issue and rejected the medication from dermatologists as the chemicals would only fire up the stomach.. and a good stomach is very important for good health. i have discovered in the journey... like the lady mentioned in the video.. the body has over heated which is why the skin is flaring up indicating also maybe some internal issues in the body.. the key is to recognise this sign and """cooling"" your body down.. i am doin this right now.. eating only ""alkaline "" ph food (between 6 and 8) and avoid acidic food completely.. and alhamdulillah is working apply aloe vera gel at affected parts and make sure to dry it off naturally by exposing to air. then quick cool shower.. dry again.. and apply virgin coconut oil.. keep stomach cool as well the affected areas cool and dry.. when ever you feel heated drink cup of water. drink lots and lots of water.. all this diet until you completely heal.. then everything needs to be taken in moderation.. disease symptoms are blessings in reality.. its a check at what we have been doing to it, and most medicines only hide temporarily what the real root cause of damage inside.

I approach my eczema by treating my leaky gut... Don't have the option to use creams/eating proper/being stress free.. So I took multivitamins+minerals+prebiotics. I also take probiotics (high dose), vitamin D3 (also high dose) and l-glutamine (high dose as well)... The eczema on my hands are 100% gone, have a few marks left on both of my elbows, got some dark patches (not itchy anymore) on my thighs... My calves and feet were really bad (bleeding at times with watery discharge) but now it's improving.... Really need for the feet to get well fast as I'm kinda afraid of getting it infected (I soak my feet with salt water) and use moisturizers on my feet as it's still bad....I eat everything now it doesn't add to my eczema at all now... So we'll see how it goes....

Wash less, use all natural products (check out my eczema skin care if have no idea), you can also try the aloe that I suggested in that video. If nothing helps, just let skin be bare for a while. :)

Hello. What about scar removal? Do you have something that works for you? I can't use even the mildest of lotions :( so usually I just wait for it to disappear which takes almost a decade, no exaggerating. I still have some of the scars when it got triggered during my 2nd year of high school (14 yrs old). Unfortunately, I have it again at 21, it started last year, November 2019 so it's turning 1 year next month.

Hello and thank you for your amazing videos! 🌹❤️ I have eczema on my lips and in one of your videos you recommended applying an organic VIt E oil on the lips. I bought the one you suggested but I am not sure how many times per day I can use it? Thank you in advance

Thank you ! Well, I have contact dermatitis on my lips, so sometimes it flares up just out of the blue (I still do not know what exactly it is causing it). I have read that Vit E can cause contact dermatitis, would you agree with this? I have been using a nasty chemical cream, when I do have flare ups, but I really want to reduce the use of such products.

Apple cider I think better to drink diluted with water or use with salt dressing it it quite tart and can burn the skin I tried it. Cold ice pack less harsh but depending on the sensitivity of yr skin can burn too. Massager are good the wooden ones but don't press too hard or you will get lumps not bumps that you may be tempted to scratch then back to square 1. I send gods healing to all out there with this condition
@chaimomma9198
@chaimomma9198 3 года назад
Apple cider clears up yeast and fungus and sometimes you have both or the yeast flares up the eczema. If it doesn’t work you don’t have yeast and always use moisturizer.

dawn for life in Switzerland Hi dawn it’s been so long since we’ve chatted (a while back) and I have to say it’s been your positive energy that has influenced me to keep believing in myself and this diet has healed my eczema a lot compared to what it was when I last spoke to you. It’s almost coming to a year for me in this diet and by the grace of God, miracles have occurred. Thank you ever so much for your encouragement in this beautiful journey. You deserve all the best in life for helping us all out. You are truly an angel. I hope you are doing well!

Diet and lifestyle is so so SO crucial in healing eczema. Important tips: Cut your nails and file them smooth, try detox juices, healthy diet (avoid gluten, sugar, red meats, alcohol, etc. Sleep early and make sure to keep your room clean (Vacuum dead skin, wash your sheets, etc.) Personally I’ve found not sticking to my daily schedule ( Sleeping early, exercising, etc.) worsened my eczema. If you have stopped using steroid creams I recommend doing No moisture treatment. It will be hard for the first weeks or so but it will most likely improve your eczema. IMPORTANT: Make sure to wear cotton clothing and try to have cotton bedding. It lets your skin breathe and reduces overheating and itchiness compared to polyester or other fabrics. Please focus on your mental health too and try watching other RU-vidrs facing the same problems :)

Hi Dawn. How long did the skin peeling/flaking last for you? I am noticing that the peeling is becoming progressively less; however, the areas where the peeling has not occurred are still quite itchy at times. Also, are there any parts of the body which heal first or faster than others? My worst patches are on my face and it seems like I take two steps forward and one step back all the time.

We found aveeno hydrocortisone 1% with oatcomplex and baby rub by Vics or any vasaline to work the fastest on healing plaque psoriasis and eczema by alternating them through out the day for three days. Then use as needed each day until it clears then continue with vasaline.

For sure. Smoking lowers immunity and causes skin to be more dry internally and externally, which doesn't help eczema skin.

You are a gem Dear. So clear. Was having eczema for around 08 YRS now, and was down. Junk food is so bad for me too. Recooked Oils do act seriously. As you said prior , in another video- *Be vegan* . That helps me a lot. Fried fishes (with oil dripping) is so bad for me. We might know it if we squeeze it against tissue paper. Thanks for your videos DEAR Ma'aam. Love you Miss. God bless you Miss. Hope your kiddie is nice. This is my WhatsApp number too. Can share your kiddie pictures in my number . Love seeing it. Am MATHEW P JOHN , a Q.C. now taking tuitions for students in School . Take Care please. Stay healthy. Is Corona an issue there too !? Stay with masks. Distance Yourself. Use sanitizer. 🤭🤭🤭🥰🙏
