LOVE this idea of upgrading our capacity to notice change as 'self care'!

When I came home after my son's first ABM session in 2021 at 5 years old, I immediately noticed that he helped bring his arm out from the car seat belt, and then assisted me as I was putting him in the bath tub by moving his legs into the tub intuitively instead of me assisting him! I was so happy and I never looked back from ABM. I also often wished and regretted I had started ABM for my son sooner, and when I mentioned this to my ABM therapist she said a lot of parents of infants or toddlers give up on it not realizing the small but meaningful changes...it makes me realize that perhaps the delay in timing was for my sake so I went through traditional therapy and a long period of minimal changes in my son, which made me more capable of noticing things :)

Thank you for sharing! I'm soooo happy you found ABM! It's truly a game-changer. I also regret not finding ABM sooner, but you don't know what you don't know. Thank goodness for the internet and other parents sharing their experiences! Yay for small changes, that add up into HUGE changes! Keep exploring movement with your son, you're an awesome parent!
