@BerserkerErik Yeah, it's called, 'exaggeration for comedic effect'. It's based on the principle that comedy is both about the truly absurd and the absurdly true. Look into it. Also, there's a reason generals and kings have always played chess: It is practice in the art of subterfuge and ruthlessness.
@BerserkerErik

@@Wolf88888 Yea well I am autistic so I apologize for not getting the joke, even though I do think chess has lots to do with strategic thinking and planning, I dont think it has anything to do with being ruthless, its only this way if your enemy really really values winning for some reason, and even then its all just an ego battle, not really anything substantial on the line most of the time, only if you take it too seriously like I said. Hope you get what im saying.

When guys feel threatened by a woman, they start giving her advice or complimenting her on what she's doing to make themselves seem like the more competent ones in the situation. It's a common tactic meant to shoot down a woman's confidence. Of course it rarely works, and ends up just being really irritating.
@official2mt37

@@official2mt37 The "compliments" I'm talking about are the ones where the guy phrases it like the girl isn't aware how well of a move she made, so he has to let her know. @@matthewlove4082 do you wanna point out where he “phrased it like the she didnt know what shes talking about”? you need to realise not every compliment or advice given is rooted in trying to undermine her competence. half the time he was just jokingly saying things like “you shouldve taken the pawn” as a joke because that would actually better his position. stop trying to push dumb narratives.

@michaelstone3463
@michaelstone3463 2 месяца назад
I hate when people do that. To start with, it's a power play--presuming that you're in a superior position, and deigning to offer "help". And if you win, he can claim it was because he helped you! Insurance. But then also, it injects doubt into the other player's mind--should I take his suggestion--putting myself into a somewhat submissive position, or not? And is there something he has spotted that I haven't yet, and he's hoping that I don't, and therefore distracting you from it by focusing your attention on the one move. Is there a consequence of this move that I haven't picked up on, that will bite me if I take it? Or is it that he *doesn't* want me to take that move, but as he is my opponent, he wants me to suspect the move and therefore is being contrarian, practicing some "reverse psychology"? Whatever the case--it causes me to overthink a move that I might have otherwise made quickly and more confidently, and it therefore causes me to burn off more time--perhaps a LOT more time--off the clock. And that might have been the whole plan from the beginning. And it's distracting. So just leave me to my thoughts, and we'll get along fine!

You can tell he is more accustomed to winning than being challenged by stronger players. With bishop, queen lined up and the rook pointing down the h file you could see the confidence and he thought his black square bishop was either safe or would be key to a decisive early win. When plan A didn’t work it all started to crumble, allowing a pawn fork that was a victory of hope over judgement shows he isn’t good at changing the plan and defending under pressure.

I can't play chess, but I can feel its magic, which is very intimidating to me. I have absolutely no idea what is happening on the board, yet I love watching people play chess! It's like a profound conversation between two minds without words... a miraculous exchange occurring on another level between two beings.

She is quite the beautiful woman. My guess is his "blush" (as you termed it), was more from the (reportedly) four-pints of beer consumed before this game and the fifth consumed during this game. Either way, it was a good chess match. The beautiful Anna has no humility, which will, eventually, catch-up with her.

The talking is a common tactic of men. The way he talked through your whole turn and then saying that you're running out of time as he constantly tried to interupt your thinking. My sister, sisters-in-law, mom and I play code words against my brothers (I have 6 brothers). They talk the whole time it's our turn to try to distract us or make us mad, but it doesn't work: we're all mothers. We don't try to do that to them (though if we quietly talk they get mad at us) and we absolutely demolish them every time. They get so mad. Just play the game, not your opponent.
@GeeTrieste

Yeah, unfortunately playing the opponent works too. Kinda dirty but that really is part of the game.

You’re completely insane for make this about gender. Watch the Botez sisters play stress chess. They consistently talk and even trash talk to make it fun and competitive. This guy wasn’t even trash talking. He was just talking and having fun with someone who was clearly a strong player just because it’s a friendly chess tournament for a bottle of champagne where people are being friendly and having fun throughout. It’s as much a social occasion as it is about chess. You’re going to be a perpetually negative, miserable person if you try this hard to twist even the most friendly, innocent scenarios into trying to make it seem nefarious.
@johndewey7243

It is damn rude for someone to talk during a game like this. You should record the game and play it back to them.
@meltedsnowman9637
@meltedsnowman9637 Месяц назад
@@johndewey7243 You’re just clearly not at all familiar with the culture around street chess. It’s normal to talk a lot with each other and banter during the game. They’re having a friendly chess game in which they’re drinking and having fun. It’s clearly intended as a social event that’s meant to be fun and not taken too seriously. It’s not meant to be a serious event where people play each game in silence, and either way neither Anna nor the guy gave any objection to the other side talking and being friendly/having fun during the game. Anna’s obviously not going to be against it because she wants good RU-vid videos and a quiet game would make a terrible RU-vid video that way less people would watch.

There was a GM who once played Magnus. He drank something, maybe brandy. He was best out of the opening, but as the game went further and the bottle emptier he got less presice and lost. I guess its easy to play with one beer, maybe two, but after 3 or 4 glasses you sacrifice some presision.
