Thankyou so much, Dillon, loved this. What an amazing life Luke has had. Having both my parents totally devoted to Nature, 2 baby iguanas was my 11th birthday present! Had lizards and snakes ever since and have 2 tortoise sisters for 10 years. My 2 girls are (strictly captive bred) but species are from Northern Afganistan, Turkey etc, so are called Atilla (the Hun) and Gobi (Desert).
It's cool to know he had hospital tanks already set up I've been considering that and thought maybe I was a little paranoid but if he's doing it that gives me confidence I might be on the right track. Much love and RIP Dirk
Thank you Dillon for always "bringing it" with awesome content, you're the best, sincerely. Thank you Luke for your knowledge and insight about deserts and how unique and special they are, with variation even within the regions of the same desert. And Saving Slowpoke, how totally inspirational. I'm with you Dillon that was emotional, still choked and teared up. Respect and thanks to you both, sincerely.
Thanks for discussing subterranean moisture! I keep Uromastyx and I feel this is one thing we get wrong with mid-day basking desert species like Uros and Chucks. Keepers forget that the desert has a few point and that water has to be underground or nothing grows.
