Absolutely, there are professional drivers in Euro Nascar, GT3s, F4s, and other super fast race cars together with people who just got a gift voucher to "drive a lap on a racetrack in a Porsche". Safety could be better 😅

It's just a track day... Not a completion. The rules during track days are allot more stricter on how you can drive on the track compared to how you're allowed to drive during a race.

@@dribrom i do a lot off trackday's (with moto) and only the bad organizations let these people drive together

It already exists and has done for years...I used to race them myself. The series is called F1000, and the cars are called Jedi. 0-60 in about 2.2 seconds.

yeah, it is not the safest... But everybody generally drives carefully. I didnt see anyone racing. If someone catches up the person always moves out of the way and makes the overtake as safe as possible, but still...

@@advanced8625That’s generally a rule for track days. You aren’t supposed to be all out racing because it’s always such a wide mix of cars and drivers. But, some groups are less strict.

😁 I think it could still beat 300hp sport cars on street tires even with the zx4rr engine, I will try to do a comparison to a sports car with me driving it, I am quite curious. Because the driver levels are very different on these trackdays.

@@RacersRushCars Indeed, considering the ZX4RR engine is much lighter in weight than an older 600 CC bike engine while also delivering comparable performance figures, your car should have that much better a power to weight ratio for it.

@@Iamwolf134 I thought they were like 80 Hp? And probably less torque than an old 600. It would be better with the 636 engine from about 2005.

@@RacersRushCars the exige was awesome in many ways. It sort of feels like a safe crotchrocket with the sounds, sensations and overall feel. It is decently reliable on track but does have some somewhat common issues. In the states, basically all lotus elise/exige use the Toyota 2zzge drivetrain found in the Celica GTS and toyota matrix XRS. So it has a weak oil pump that can shatter and valvetrain that could grenade with a misshift. It’s not as durable as an S2000. The chassis and suspension are fine. No electronics nor power steering to fail. I blew up my motor about 3x due to mostly a bad aftermarket supercharger tune. Had to tune it myself after all that fiasco

Not really. Some tracks just allow for power to reign supreme and even on a smaller track, porshe slaps so much tyre width, power and aero onto the car it makes up for bad driving and the cars poor design. And i have never met a tracking golf owner who said golf is worth tracking.

The red flag on this trackday doesn't have the same meaning as in a race, it just means that you have to go into the pits at the end of the lap. For no overtakes and slowing down as well it would be together with the yellow flag. Either way, it is difficult to call anything I did an "overtake" because everybody just gets out of the way immediately as someone faster catches up, there is no real overtaking. You see someone in the mirrors and you immediately let them go. If they caught up with you, they are faster, so there is no point in wasting someone's track time and making it more dangerous than it already is with all these different classes together.

But for a fuel veined person you failed to correctly identify surprisingly many cars ;D

Around 4 hours at least 🤣 loosen the wheel bolts, lift one side of the car, put it on stands, lift the other end put it on stands, undo the bolts completely, take the wheels off, take them somewhere for a tire change and then put it all back takes time 🤣 probably would be the longest pitstop ever

It is kind of like a formula student, but mine is even simpler than the formula student cars. The tires were actually brand new on the beginning of the day :D They look like that and start having the pieces coming off immediately as they warm up a little bit.

Yes for its racing series, the car has to be like this with the solid axle. They did a newer version of the car that looks a lot better and the aerodynamics is improved a lot, they also put an engine from MT09 so it has more power as well, but it still has that axle in the back. I have seen the new ones going and especially the solid rear axle seems to be a big weak point of the whole car.

I was a bit confusing in the naration, I designed the livery, painted the car myself, did the rev lights and dash, and put most of it together after completely crashing it, but I didn't design or make the whole car itself 😅

​@@RacersRushCars yeah no, don't do it. Race car engineer here : - you have no front impact absorber, the chassis is doing the job. It may work only because the speed is so low - you only have 1 brake line. If it fails due to added forces, you're fucked. - the drivetrain is in a soft material, it probably can't handle more torque. Adding power is the Best way to Kill yourself. I've designed such cars myself, it has not been made to go faster trust me

That would be briljant indeed! And he could also use a quickshifter and autoblipper.. so no more clutching after the start. Just like the legend Cars have with the current mt09 engines. 👌👌

@@tituskoreman1565 the auto blipper would be amazing for sure, the pedal box is so tight I cannot do heel and toe so downshifting is a challenge at the moment.

I was filming the walk while riding on an electric scooter, steering it with one hand and filming with the other :D It ended up pretty shaky :D In the car I was using the insta360 camera. Next time I might do everything with the insta360 see how it would turn out...

At the moment there are tires for the formula 4 on it. I think the set costed around 1700eur. But you might be able to find used ones. Last time I had used ones and they lasted for three years, which for me was like 12 trackdays, they would have lasted even longer, but they got too old and started having micro cracks on the side, so I had to get new ones. How the car doesn't have any power they really last a long time for me. The grip when they get older lowers, probably like 2 seconds a lap slower compared to the brand new ones, but doesn't really take away anything from driving experience. Maybe even more fun with a bit less grip.

There are rules for yellow flag, no overtaking, slow down and increased caution, they do blue flags as well, and the orange circle flag I have seen a few times as well, and of course the low grip striped flag as well. The red flag is just to say you have to enter the box at the end of the lap, they would do red and yellow flags together if the overtaking was not allowed and you had to enter the box. You can still finish the lap driving at pace and overtaking. Regarding the overtakes, everyone is pretty careful and it was quite visible in the video. No one is racing anyone. Generally I catch up with someone and if I see they know about me and move to the side I overtake. I would not try to overtake someone who is doing a racing line during this type of trackday. When I see someone faster, I also immediately try to help them overtake me. I do not drive the car at the limit while close to other cars.

@@RacersRushCars You 100% on that? any chance you've got any info from the provider you booked with, because the circuit is pretty clear on no overtaking under red in their operating rule book. Just seems really weird and I'd be interested in who the provider was and their reasoning. I don't know whats wrong with a red flag with red chequer at the finish like any other track.

Thats the spirit :D However a basic Cayman on street tires would likely not produce a faster laptime. The power to weight ratio is worse for the cayman, the formula weighs just around 300kg, so 1000Kg less yet only like 136hp less than the cayman. Also the grip of an F4 slick is not comparable with road tires either. If I go like 15-20kmh per hour faster through every single turn, brake much harder and later and accelerate similarly until there is too much drag on the straight it is just not going to be enough to compensate.

Haha 😄 the only thing she could mess up is to put the seat belt wrong making it difficult for me to get out of the car in case of fire. But in the beginning of every trackday we do a test to make sure she is doing it correctly. I actually already crashed the car into a wall, spun out at around 110kmh and hit the wall two times. I was completely fine thankfully. The car could be repaired quite easily too... crashing with another car, or flipping it would probably be pretty bad though...

@RacersRushCars as long as you're safe and having fun, that's all that matters. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks as long as you're happy. I wish RU-vid was around when I was younger. I definitely would have done a lot of things that I now only wish that I've done.

Could be very interesting, I actually like electric cars and bikes a lot. I think that years ago someone in Italy took a formula like this made it electric and even tried to make it street legal under some exceptions for electric cars back then. I saw a picture of it with a licence plate under the rear wing
