Because there are East Asians who look like her. There are NE Indians that look fully Chinese. Indians don’t look the same and are not from one race. Therefore, there is no one Indian look. Indians are a mix of Caucasians and Asians just like Latin America, with differing levels of admixture. Some are only 10-15% mixed, some are up to 85%-90% mixed. The result is Indians can look like anything from middle eastern to Slavic to Chinese to mixed Latinos or Mexicans to the classic Indian look like Aziz ansari. It’s a nationality. So don’t say he looks Indian. I am Indian and I look nothing like him. People think I look White lmao. I’ve been to Europe and in Southern Europe and in the Balkans people talked to me in their native tongue, and refused to believe I was from India. I’m an upper caste NW Indian and I look completely Caucasian, like Kabir Bedi. Look up Nikki Haley, a Punjabi Jat who worked in the Trump administration. She is originally from India yet looks White. my family is the same way, if you saw us you would never recognize us, guaranteed. You would think we were either white or Persian lmao. So stop saying someone looks Indian, it’s like saying someone looks American, it’s just idiotic and ignorant, and makes you look foolish.

Rohit Patel agreed. Punjab has many NW south Asians that look Persian or middle eastern or in some cases European. It also has tons of people that look like mixed Latinos or Mexicans and even people with the classic Indian look that is associated with Indians in the west, like Raj from Big Bang theory who is played by Kunal Nayyar, or Aziz Ansari. This is because Punjabi’s are anywhere from 15% to 87% Caucasian genetically and those that are greater than 80% Caucasian look fully Caucasian of some type (either middle eastern, or European or Persian) and those that are less can look either Latino or Dravidian or even East Asian and Chinese looking. Nikki Haley is a good example of an upper caste Jat Punjabi that people think looks White even in America, and Bobby Jindal is a good example of a typically Dravidian looking Punjabi that is around 50% mixed.

Maori people are SE Asian/Islanders and he is a mix of Maori and Caucasian (European) just like Indians are a mix of SE Asian and Caucasian (Middle Eastern and Eastern European). Thats why he looks like a generic Indian. He would be taken for a lower caste Indian in the Punjab and elsewhere in India, as most of India is lower caste (around a billion or so at the least), and these lower caste individuals, like the rest of India are a mix of invading Indo Aryan Caucasians and native SE Asian Indians. Its just that lower caste people have a 50/50 ratio of Caucasian and Asian. This makes them look unique and gives them either a Latino or Dravidian/indian look. On the other hand, Upper caste NW Indians have a 85/15 ratio with 85 being Caucasian and 15 being Asian. That is why they look completely Caucasian and nothing like the vast majority of Indians. They only make up 3% of India's population. Most people dont even know people like us exist in India due to underrepresentation in the diaspora. We have more money and land and thus tend to stay in India and not emigrate abroad unlike most Indians who do go abroad. Look up Neil Nitin Mukesh (one name) on YouTUbe to see an example of someone from my family (he is also an upper caste NW Indian) and you'll understand what I mean.
