In a previous video we attempted to make a glue glove by layering and drying glue on our hands. That video has been blowing up over the past month, so we thought we'd make a follow up with some changes to our original method! We'll try making shoes with hot glue, Elmer's glue, and Shoe Goo.

The trick I've found for building up layers of glue is to thin it out, then build up lots of very thin layers because they dry/cure faster with the use of a heat gun or hairdryer

Create silicone molds of your feet first then cover those in glue to get a better fit.

I would suggest putting a sock over the mold, and covering the outer sock with a thin layer of silicon. Otherwise you won't have room for socks.

What about using cyanoacrylate/paint/elmer's glue to make solid bricks to make a mini house or something? Make the glue into a house!

I have some boots with a sole made of Barge rubber cement mixed with finely shredded tire. You mix it and brush it on in several thick coats allowing it to dry in between. When they are worn down you mix up more and brush it on.

I would have made a mold of my feet and dipped the molds into the glue , this way it would have reduced all the messy steps in between. Otherwise, this was a very interesting, informative and fun video to watch as much as this was for you to make.

When I used to skateboard I would use Shoe Goo all the time for ripped shoes and it worked great. It’s a must-have staple for skaters

I have used Shoe Goo to resole cowboy boots, and repaired dirt bike boots and work boots with it. Great stuff.

Had a pair of work pants with many patches attached with shoe goo, inevitably the pants and gloo reached critical mass and fell apart in the wash. More goo than fabric. :P Should note, shoe goo makes for excellent waterproofing of fabric.

I live by shoegoo stuff is a life saver on multiple occasions, holds a sippy cup to a block of a cars engine to act as a oil cap, it also held on a friends side mirrior that they broke off and held it on for 6 months with 90+mph highway speeds no problem. All im saying if you have a emergency kit add shoegoo to it 💗

You used the shoe goo kinda wrong it's a reinforcement for the shoes you have and love. Skate boarders use it to repair holes in the side of there shoe. Also I've used it and other people use it with fiberglass tabe/drywall tape to increase the durability of rc car bodies. But still another great video.

The Elmer glue sheets remind me of hagfish slime. After drying the slime it becomes a polymer with comparable strength to spider silk

Shoe Goo is a vinyl base product that is incredibly useful as a semi-flexible glue for lots of different type of plastics. The best shoe repairs are done using Shoe Goo and scraps of fabric, as the product itself does not permeate materials like leather very well.

You should start with shoes 2 sizes smaller. So when your forming from the outside it would fit your foot.

What about trying an epoxy with something added for grip like many metal nails or screws so the tips are acting like studs, it would be outdoor only but pretty durable I would think.

You could for sure size them. I would keep them in a croc / sandal style sized better and use a iron and some wax paper or butcher paper and smooth out the top glue in some cheap insoles and have a decent pair of walk to the corner store shoes or just around the house at night slippers lol I might actually try it just for the heck of it Use a stuffed pair of socks to size em. Stuff the socks with paper and plastic bags inside a plastic bag till they fill already tied shoes = perfect fit :)

How about getting some low melting point wax (so you don't burn yourselves), and use the repeated dipping method that's used to make candles to cover your feet and ankles with some thick wax shoes, and then see if you can walk without breaking them?
