@@xxxnvssaxxx yes with same engine and transmission. But I will have to change the engine by the end of this year bcz of low compression. I'll try to use sea foam and another product to improve the compression as suggested by RU-vid channel named "project farm" and will update on that. I have a 2010 corolla too but this car more comfortable than that 2010 model bcz of higher seating position of this car and better softer suspension. I"ll keep it for a few years more. I prefer this car over the other for long drives.
1996 1.6l base model. 260,008 as of 3-14- 2023. Bought with169,000. Replaced : radiator, alternator, struts, CV axles, tie rods, brake calipers, timing belt, rear drum brakes kit . Most of the work done myself. Recently found a very good mechanic. He says it's in very good condition overall. No plans to get rid of it ever. Considering the low property tax, insurance rate and the cost of new vehicles I plan on doing what it takes to keep it on the road.
231k on my 1999 Corolla. Still going strong! Only issues have been the wheels (from the roads in my area being so bad) and a coolant leak (havent found cause).
My 04 Corolla had 278k miles when I sold it. Only thing that ever broke was the starter at 238k. I'd like to add that those were delivery miles. I did pizza and a sandwich shop. Drove anywhere from 200-400 miles daily.
My 2010 Corolla (Yoda) has over 200000 miles now. I haven't had to do anything except oil and tires in the six years I've owned him. I am totally sold on Toyotas.
2007 Corolla S - just purchased it yesterday. 23,500 miles. Original owner. Garage kept. Not a ding or a scratch on it. Should last us several decades as we don't drive much. My estimated cost per mile should be under $.20/mile. That includes all maintenance, fuel, insurance, and depreciation.
@@rightlanehog3151 ironically i have seen the badge fall off some of those prizms. Apparently even the chevy emblem falls apart faster than the toyota parts of the car.
This is nothing bro! Over here in the middleeast we have camrys as taxi tht r driven for 800k miles n again resold n driven by regular people again for high milage. O hve seen camrys go upto 12ook miles on original engine m trans
My family owns a 1996 Toyota Corolla Automatic that currently has only 76,750 original miles on it. My family bought it brand new back in 96 and just haven't driven it much, however to this day, it still drives great and we've never had an issue with it. It's hard to believe the car is 22 years old just like me! Great video btw.
@@bryceno5385 I think it is due for a change at 23 years of age no matter the mileage. I would also strongly suggest that all fluids including - brake, power steering, coolant and transmission be flushed and refilled as they deteriorate with time . Enjoy the next 23 years of Corolla driving. BTW where was your car made?
my 2005 Toyota Corrola has 223,000 miles and still has the original engine. The only part that has died out on me was the alternater, but that is normal for a 15 year old car.
I have two; a 94 dx with around 250k and 95 dx with around 150k. both run great but if one has to go to the shop, I have a backup. These cars are inexpensive, parts are cheap, and both vehicles have been the most reliable thing in my life. Thank you, Toyota. If only we had an American car as good.
I have a 2006 Toyota Corolla LE, that has a little over 300,000 miles. When it had a little over 290,000 miles on it, the right wheel barring went bad. Recently, I have has to replace the front brake on it. These cars last a long time, are reliable and get great gas mileage. This car has the original engine and transmission, and the battery has been replaced. Highly recommend!!!!
Bring back the Corolla wagon or, more precisely, bring over the new Corolla wagon they sell in Europe. and Japan. My 'Corolla' wagon aka Pontiac Vibe is 14 years old with over 100K and it purrs like a kitten. #WeWantWagons #CatsRule
They do have one. And they had one bout 03 to 2011...called the corolla MATRIX, and it's sister the pontiac vibe They even had AWD and a high output 2zz Engine version
My 1998 Corolla had 430k miles and then some moronic oil change place put 5W20 oil, the engine lost all oil within a week, and the engine got destroyed.
@@payamyazdi7672 I was using 20W50 for years because it would lose oil like crazy. plus I live in a hot climate. I can't understand why those people would use such a light weight oil in an engine with so many miles.
With my 1996 Corolla with 440k miles, I always did my own oil changes, at about 5000 miles with 5W30. Never trust quick oil change places, you don't know what they are putting in your car, half the time they don't know or care what they are putting in if they even change it at all. Do it yourself or find a trusted mechanic who might charge you a little more, but as you can see is worth it.
I found a 2007 Corolla with 36,000 miles this summer near Hollywood Ca. I honestly feel bad driving the car because it was such well taken care of by a lady who garaged it and only drove it for mini duties as the miles show.
My Toyota Corolla 1995 has done 625.000 Km when i decide open de motor and only was packaged and a new set of ring pistons and the automatic trans was rebuilded at 500.000 km. I loved, it is the best vehicle of the world
How are the new corollas with the CVT holding up for the long term? I know the 14 -17 had a recall for a computer update. I like the car but I'm just concerned about buying one with a cvt and the newer corollas with a manual transmission are very hard to find.
Hey my name is Ramy Morsy, I live in The Netherlands, My Toyota corolla 2003, engine fuel (petrol & Lpg G3) and it has 106,000 KM. it runs so smooth. I love it. Greetings & stay safe everyone.
2011 with 870000km and before that a 2008 Yaris with 820000km and before that a 2003 Echo with 1,000,000+ km. Toyota's are hard to beat. My current car is a 2011 Prius and it now has 377,000km.
just shy of 250000 miles on my 2007 Corolla. Clear coat is peeling off the spoiler and it has a small oil leak at the valve cover gasket .. absolutely brilliant value for money in the used car market right now.
ha ha ha ..... this is cool !!! We have exactly the same car and everything is still original except brakes and tires and trunk lock does not hold and the trunk opens and I changed the light bulbs a few times. The engine works very well, gearbox very good, the oil is clean and the car has made over 380.000 miles ( 608.000 km) Toyota has no major problems.Just change the oil on time (3000-5000 miles max) and the car will drive and drive. If you take care of this car you won"t be disappointed ;))))))
My 2006 Toyota Corolla LE has 365000 on it -and I just bought it! Original everything except brakes and intake gasket. Great engines. VVT-i means the engine will easily last up to 800k miles. My 'new' one could use new front wheel bearings and a new A/C compressor but other than that it looks nearly showroom new. It's my 3rd Corolla. Things keep hitting them. First a Dodge Charger T-boned my 2007 LE @135K miles. Then last week a deer took out my 2009 Corolla LE @230K miles. So this new one should make it to 500K before, I donno, an airplane hits it?
2001 Corolla S automatic with a little over 300K. An exhaust valve chipped at 200K. So, replaced all intake & exhaust valves. Resurfaced head. While I was at it, replaced timing chain kit, oil pump, cleaned the motor oil pan and screen due to all the sludge, water pump, thermostat, spark plugs, and all seals and gaskets. Alternator gave out at 250K. Still running.
@@miltoncardoza May I suggest you try a fully synthetic oil next time. It should completely eliminate the possibility of sludge forming inside the engine.
@@rightlanehog3151 Thanks for the tip. But I'm somewhat hesitant using synthetic on older cars. I had an '85 Volvo one time and the car got "sick" after I used synthetic.
@@miltoncardoza I have been using it exclusively for the last 20 years in old and new cars, outboards and snow blowers. My 14 year old 'Corolla' gets just one oil change per year with Amsoil Signature Series Synthetic and works perfectly. As a matter of fact, I don't even understand why conventional oil is still on the market as it is completely obsolete. Check out the Million Mile Amsoil Van videos on RU-vid.
I have a Toyota Paseo...its got 275,000 miles on it right now. Just had a tune up and ignition coil put on it. Other than that ive only replaced the brakes. I got it at 190,000 miles. Love Toyota and love my paseo
Hi Turnip! Beautiful kitty! My Corolla is a 2004 with close to 300,000 miles on it. It’s a stick which as you know is a lot easier to handle in Minnesota winters. I have put a new battery in it 2 years ago as well as spending 900 dollars last year on maintenance. I get high mileage oil changes when needed. The only thing about Toyota is the rust that accumulates.
Next time find a Krown Rustproofing dealer and do an annual application. My car is finishing its 14th Canadian winter and you won't find a speck of rust on it.
2000 corolla with 174k miles on it, burns oil but I put 600 miles on it a week, my fiancee has a 2007 with 120k on it, hers burns no oil she has had it for almost 2 years and she put a lot of miles on it, it only had 90k on it when she bought it, all I have done to it is oil changes
A guy at my office has over 500,000 miles on a 2008 Corolla. He drove from South Georgia to Atlanta on a regular basis. I am at 163k on my 2008 Corolla for which I updated to Apple CarPlay, backup camera…etc
my 2002 Corolla has 202,000 miles.. needed new shocks, engine mounts, muffler, catalytic converter, o2 sensor, a/c pump, and wheel bearings.. so on average $1000 in repairs per year.
My Corolla 2,06 nothing but headaches every 6 months there’s something wrong with it just now transmission going to…can’t trust anyone to fix it to put a use one they asking for 3,000 and 30 day warranty or a rebuild is 3,000 to 4,000 and 30 days warranty and that’s not the dealership who knows how much they charge and the car have 158 mileage when I bought it I didn’t even know it was a rebuild engine maybe that’s why I have all those headaches now since I don’t trust anyone I have to buy another car because is an old car with problems 😩😩😩😩😩😩😩
I still have a 2000 model Corolla made in Canada and it just passed 300K miles nad has been using / burning oil for a year. I will replace the valve seal/guide parts for it. I has never failed to start up and has been totally trouble free for 22 years nad paid off 17 years ago.
My 2008 has 165,000 miles. I know I can get to 200,000 miles. I'm sure the engine can get to 300,000 but here in Nebraska I don't know if I can get the body to last that long. I have lost many Toyotas to rust. The Hondas seem to hold up better to rust. Many 1990's Honda's still running around here. I have owned my Corolla since 2011 and have had to nothing to it besides maintenance and the air bag recall.
Just 40 k miles in my Corolla 2018. I had to buy another one because my last Corolla 2015 get into total loss accident. This last one had 75 k miles, I would like to keep this cars until it keep running, but I live in Brazil we don´t have good roads so we don´t drive much, so It will be hard to put a high millage on it, but I will try. Our Corollas are different, they are European models, we use 1.8 and 2.0 liter engines. Only I Brazil We have 2.0 liter engines compared to other parts in the world. Mine is a Altis model, so it is fully loaded with all equipment. We don´t have camrys here, it is so big to our streets, so there are more expensive version of Corolla here, and believe me, our corollas are more beautiful than America corollas. It can run for a long long time and a long way, that´s why I love it.
Some of these had major engine or transmission work, most likely making them even more reliable to buy now. Still a big difference when you find only 1 Sentra and about 10 Corollas with high miles and not in the junkyard.
My 2010 Corolla LE 4-cylinder has almost 94,600 miles. I bought it in Sept 2015 with just less than 18,000 miles on it. I plan to keep my Corolla past 200,000 miles.
I did own a 83 Corolla wagon which I got over 400k on it. Second engine and transmission. That vehicle had a carburetor ( second one too and expensive) which todays fuel injection should be able to reach that mileage as well. I sold it in 2002 because I couldn’t smog it and someone did get it to smog and it still ran for a few years after.
2012 Carolla with 185000. Still runs like a champ with never any major problems. I use it as a commuter and couldn’t imagine trying to do this with a BMW.
LOVE YOUR CAT!!!! So cute. And great information about Corollas! I've had a Camry Hybrid for several years now, and at 180K miles, I want to find a Corolla with less than 100K miles, so your video was very helpful. Thank you!
298k on my 2005's ! and yes original engine & transmission ! 2 Owners ... My father for 9 years & me for 6 years now. Still run well ! Long Life to Toyota
I have a 1998 corolla ce with a 5 speed. I bought the car for 300 dollars as a in between car. Didnt plan on having it for long. That was over a year ago. I've since put coilover suspension on it amongst other mods. I autocross the car all last summer at 23 events and 2 did full track days. I've driven the car over 25k miles in a year and went on a cross country road trip. It now has 412,992 miles and is still enjoyed and driven to its limits at least once a week. Besides for regular maintenance I've done all the gaskets on the 1zz fe and did a top end rebuild on it. Overall with all maintenance included I've spent only close to 3k on the car and has saved me a couple thousand dollars in gas compared to my mustang. It is truly the fwd compact sedans to come from over seas.
