You have a real good point and if I had to guess, I really don't know the answer. I go out to go to work or go grocery shopping. There isn't enough money for me to do anything else...buuttt...I don't have credit. Still, all I see everywhere are people out and from appearances shopping. The roads are constantly full. So beats me. Yeah, I definitely think the economy is bad...for me. So, where are all these people getting money to eat out regularly, go shopping at high end stores, etc.?

I feel like emperor is wearing no clothes and I am the only one who sees it....We passed by several restaurants and it was PACKED!!!!! I am so sorry. I think it is difficult for most people but...still....is this CRAZY? Am I Missing something here folks???

@@dipsydoodle7988 I'm not confused, people are used to over- spending, not saving. They'll wish they saved probably at the end of the yearish. The economy is being propped up right now so it doesn't scare ppl or affect November politix

I asked my husband what he thought and he said that money isn't what it use to be. Young people are still out eating and shopping because thats normal behavior. But they are just still getting by. Where the twist lies is they arent buying homes. They arent going on as many vacations. They aren't buying vacation homes just like generations passed. Us as a family is doing okay but the creeping cost of living is slowly getting to us.

So here is the kicker....a client told me that people on social media "fake" their wealth by taking photos of themselves in cars you can rent and in these "private jets" that are really fake backgrounds....🙄 ...my question is.....why? Who even cares?! I hope these are not the same young people that have student loan debt....I feel sad for our younger generation.

I'm guessing they idolize money and so they want to boast "their" wealth. Yeah I don't care about all the nonsense as well. This poor generation will have to learn the hard way I guess. Also it seems that's it's the wanna be influencer type people doing those fake posts 🤷‍♀️ idk everything is so silly

@GoSeeChristy omg I thought so I'm always wondering how the very young are all so stinking rich , well you nailed it Christy that's it. FAKE ! I see so many young women with fake everything and it says they're models. Really?!.FAKE AGAIN! and, if they are I know they don't make that kind of money to get the body and faces all reshaped , enhanced and the list goes on and on. Hmm most have alot of credit cards to pay off and have to be deeply in depth just for social media and going out in hopes of getting noticed. Very sad indeed!

Inflation is out of control. It doesn't take much to do the research -- just look up "minimum wage year 2000" and compare how much milk, eggs, gas, "car" you could buy for the amount of hours worked... with how many hours of work that you have to work now... to get the same amount of stuff. It's stupid how bad it is. As another commenter mentioned, "Young People are going out to the restaurant" more than I ever did when I was younger. But, very few can make enough to buy a new home. They have no chance to reach that level of ownership. They know it -- so they just spend what they have because they lost hope.

How many of you think the economy is bad or good and why? With banks not having enough reserves, people living on credit, ....Why are this many people going crazy still shopping? The lines were CRAZY LONG to buy things!!!

The lines appear to always be long and I'm not as patient as I should be. Your guess is as good as mine, Christy, I don't really know what the heck is going on. In your opinion does it seem like the lines are longer since the pandemic? Remember the tp rush, omg that was crazy!

Sookie, how did your message come through? I have all my notifications turned off since I get so many notifications. That is soooooo weird! I didn't stand in line for the TP rush. I was prepared . Believe it or not, I listened to this one podcast and they said it was going to happen 6 months prior so I started stocking up. This crowd was BEYOND crazy. I drove by the store again today and the parking lot was PACKED!!!!

I think these people who are living the same as when the prices were lower are in denial and it will come back to bite them. But, Who knows, maybe they are not taking vacations and someway arranged their budgets to fit their needs and wants. I never eat out, don’t drink or smoke. But I eat well at home. I don’t buy clothes unless necessary but indulge in my art supplies! Do as many house repairs as I can and save the rest for hiring someone. Depends on bc what needs done etc.

Maybe a lot of people are using their credit cards only to go back to stores to return the items 🤷🏻‍♀️ Even the thrift stores have gotten expensive but you can still get some good bargains if you shop certain days. I look for more people to go dumpster diving. It is incredible how little money goes.

I've wondered how there are so many people who can afford the outrageously priced concerts like Taylor and Beyonce. There was a news story about a mom who booked flights and accommodations to another country with her kid to see the concert and it was still cheaper than paying the price here in the States. But so many people pay thousand of dollars for a concert. That's when I first wondered if the economy isn't as bad as being reported. The way it's reported, the majority already have their savings spent and credit cards maxed out. 🤷 No shame to those who go to concerts but dang. 💰💰💰

@GoSeeChristy certain concerts like the reviewer stated above really do cost a lot of money. Especially when I could take a vacation instead of going to a concert. I think anyway who knows haven't done either in a long time now wonder I'm so crouchy. Lol!

I’m not paycheck to paycheck but I haven’t taken a vacation in 2 years 🤷🏻‍♀️ I think many are living off of credit and will buy no matter the economy because they have shopping addictions. 1 financial catastrophe and they’ll have to go into crisis mode. Then there’s another group that are doing very well because they are financially literate and plan well, despite the current economic conditions

We need to teach this in schools. My parents taught me the basics but I learned about investments on my own.

I pay with credit card but then I pay it in full at the end of the cycle so if I don't have it, I don't get it...but again....I am of a different mindset. My parents grew up during the depression.

credit card debit is over a trillion dollars in Q4 2023 according to the Federal Reserve. People won't stop until they are really hurting....a lot of people are making poor financial decisions and it will catch up.

You know in my area, there are tons of multi family housing and NEW storage facilities being built....It's almost as they are preparing for what is coming....
