I started with only thrift stores and I still do well with them.

It is definitely a numbers game, no matter what your source is. As an example I found books at the bottom of a mixed media Gaylord I was going through and only found one Amazon worthy book, however I did find some good books for my local media sale. Diversification is key. I recommend selling FBA, FBM, on eBay and locally. Thanks for watching.

Yes, if I were willing to build up a huge MF inventory of books and CDs and be ok with making a buck profit then I could potentially pull more books from a Gaylord. I'd prefer to create eBay lots and/or sell them in my warehouse sale.

@@510Books Same. I am a one man operation, and will not spend time shipping books that will only net me a buck.

@Brainjock No, I have not. I just looked them up and they are part of Thrift Books, which I would not recommend buying from. I imagine they fill the Gaylords with duds.

@Brainjock There are a variety of factors when I am considering whether to sell a book MF or FBA. Some include, competition, sales rank and sales frequency, number of FBA and/or MF offers and other offer prices.

@Skinny Bones Jones I have not personally purchased Gaylords from that source but because they are Thrift Books I can only assume that the books have been gone through. Feel free to make an order and find out for yourself. If Blake is saying they are worth it then you have to see how he is running his business and whether or not your business runs in a similar way. Hello, sorry for the super late reply. Books for eBay are usually older more collectible books which are oftentimes not listed on Amazon or high very high sales ranks. I will sell a book MF for a lot of reasons, mostly if it is very long tail. Also, if the lowest MF and FBA prices are similar I will sometimes list it MF to have it go live sooner and hopefully sell quicker. Thanks for watching and commenting.

I've been doing FBA with all books under the 5M rank (I dont mind waiting a little bit) and MF for those books above 5M rank. Most of my antiquarian books are on eBay as well. Unless the market is for some reason flooded on Ebay and makes more sense to sell on Amazon. Thanks

I will do $3-5 of profit for fast selling books. If a book is going to take longer to sell I want more built in profit in case the price drops.

There are many factors including current and long-term sales rank, number of offers, lowest price and how often the book is selling.

I tried that but didn't sell very many.

You are thinking about buying Gaylords of books off of eBay? I didn't even know there were any available. I would be careful and make sure the books are unscanned, unsorted etc. Good luck.

the Gaylord box comes from The Gaylord Container Corporation, a company that invented that type of box decades ago. The name is still used for these large 4x4x4' boxes.

Yes, if you mean a Gaylord of books that had a lot of Amazon worthy books. The quality of every Gaylord is different though.

No, there are always some good ones. However, not every Gaylord of books is created equal. Some Gaylords are better than others for Amazon but that's why I can sell some on eBay and locally in my store. Diversification is the key.

It depends on a lot of factors, such as price, space, can you deal with the duds, are you doing it alone or do you have help, physical capabilities etc. If I were to just do book Gaylords I would need to lean heavily on eBay and local sales to make it worth the time and money. I make much more per Gaylord with CDs and mixed media. Thanks for the comment.

@Skinny Bones Jones I'm not sure what Walter Blake is saying about bulk book buying via Gaylords, because I have not watched any of his videos, but yes it can be very physically taxing. Every source and every gaylord are not created equal, but if you find a solid source and go through a lot of Gaylords from that source then you will get a general idea of how many FBA and MF worthy books you can pull out of one Gaylord. I usually pull 25-30 FBA worthy books from one Gaylord, but sometimes I will only find 19 and other times I will find 70. Also, I will usually pull a dozen or more MF worthy books and some I can sell individually or in lots on eBay. I don't recommend only selling FBA if you are going to go the Gaylord route, unless you have a very fast process and a way to quickly get rid of the thousands of duds. Keep in mind that you will need a pallet jack and if you don't have a Gaylord dumper or tipper that you will have to dive into the boxes, i.e. bend over many times.

Is it the worth, gaylord of books can be sent to the internet archive for digitalization and borrowing.
