Who would fight MBT's with T54's? KV-2 is the way, no way for an MBT to block a 152mm high explosive shell. No way for any tank to do so

You dont know much about military history or tank warfare The video game scenario is not based on actual facts or data based on the capabilities of either tank or how they would have been used in their own time periods also it was stated the germans knew of capabilities of Abrams tank So German unit commander would have made adjustments in tactics and strategy It has more to do with how good of an e sports player one is and nothing to do with any actual knowledge of armored vehicles or warfare You know almost nothing about tank warfare and the scenario lacks so much detail and nuance it is just very bad

Both are pay to win to be honest. WT is fun, but they have long grinds that can get extremely painful and unbearable repair (this literally serves no purpose aside from balancing according to Gaijin). The only way to speed things up is to get a premium account and vehicles so you can speed it up and have vehicles with cheaper repair costs (some vehicles are an exception though). WoT is just stupid with shells and again long grinds, but WG makes their repair costs bearable at least in my experience.

The TIger TCs would be better off to send one of their crew to take on the Leo by sneaking up on it with a "Panzerschrek", A few "volunteers" could disable the Leo with well-placed shots at its running gear, or score a hit at the engine bay! Back when the US had the M60A2 "Starship" and the M551 Sheridan, both which had that 152mm gun launcher, there was a MINIMUM range at which the tank could engage other AFVs with that gun! The solution? Equip the vehicle with several LAW rockets, and have the TC open the hatch and fire upon a vehicle too close for the main weapon!

It has more factor to it , Leopard rounds are APFDS and even with the incredible sights and electronics it has it's almost certain that not all shots would result on kills, those APFDS shells will just overpenetrate most of the time and if they aren't shot in vital or important spots of the tigers ( gun breach , turret rotation system , engine ,etc) then the tiger would still be somewhat operational , also even if it is unlikely , if tiger t2's manage to hit leopard 2 even from the front then there's a chance as said in the video that important parts of the leo would get destroyed , a lucky shot from the tiger to the tracks, gun barrel or sights is all it would take for the tiger 2's to have a way bigger chance of winning. So saying a leo 2 could take out 43 is clearly too optimistic in my opinion. I would say 25 is a good number , even if it clearly depends of the situation , in a vast field without cover i would say leo could kill even about 30 or more , but in close urban combat i think leo would struggle even to get 5

@@doktork3406 The Leopard II can hit a Tiger while on the move at a 6,000 yard range with the LAHAT round. Tigers can hit a Leopard at 1,000 yards but they couldn't kill it at that range. They can't even kill a Leopard at point blank ranges with the 88. It's like a VW bug going up against a Porche' 911. It's not even close

If Warthunder on realistic mode is actually realistic all you need to do is just hit a turret trap shot which isn’t even hard, look at how big that gap is from the turret to the hull. I’ve taken out leopards and Abrams with the tiger 1 yet alone the tiger 2. And I’ve played leopards enough to know that pre ww2 tanks can pen it.

Bladez Andrew Can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic but no. This isn’t like war thunder, you do not aim for weak spots, you aim for center of mass. At 5km, it is pretty much impossible for a tiger to hit a target, even a challenger 2 took 4 shots before hitting a t55 stationary at 4.5km. The leopard could just drive in reverse and shoot at the tigers without any chance the tigers hitting it. The tigers transmission would probably break down before they actually hit the leopard. Plus, even if they get too close, the leopard could pop smoke and use its thermal sights.

I do that all of the time, with the Sturmpanzer 2, the Brummbär, the Panzerwerfer 42, the Centurion AVRE and finally the japanese Ho-Ro. You can destroy every tank in the game even when your target is behind cover... and while you are behind cover as well. Gotta love the indirect fire but I'm still waiting for the Sturmtiger in War Thunder.

Which tank was he talking about, the Sherman was not inferior to the Panzer III or Panzer IV, the Sherman was only mildly inferior to the Panther. The tank that everyone feared was the Tiger, but not very many of those were made and relatively few were operational; mechanical problems. The Tiger II was even better, lots of mechanical problems because of short development life and the only thing it ever did well was burn fuel. The Battle of the Bulge ended partly because of improved weather and partly because the tank units had run out of fuel for all the thirsty heavy tanks they were using.

@@jrus690 Also, late in the war, the German tanks were often sitting in prepared well camo'ed defensive positions. While Sherman's were advancing largely in the open, until they ran into an ambush. When you are on the offensive you are much more vulnerable, and you are going to take losses from enemy tanks with good firepower. (ask the Russians)

While the Tiger 2 was superior in terms of armor and firepower it was inferior logistically. As you've mentioned already the tank had serious engine problems, like its transmission it would constantly kill itself because of its own weight, you can't use a tank superior in combat if it keeps trying to kill itself.

I am fairly certain the unrelyability of german armour is overstated. Even at the worst of times they manahed availibility rates steadily above 50%. Vehicles being abandoned in unorganized retreat isnt exactly an anomaly. The soviets had the same problems in the opening years of Barbarossa.

The heavier ones in particular were absolutely atrocious, they were just too heavy for their suspensions and gear boxes. The Tiger II and it's derivatives especially, as they came in late and suffered from the German ressource situation.

Ammunition types are very important. A T-72 uses far more advanced ammunition than a King Tiger.
