Micah Richards is such a great character. He’s the reason I’ve jumped into this and binged episodes as well as MOTD. The banter between the 3 of them is an infectious kind of joy
They never mention how Shearer used to get away with elbowing opponents when jumping. It was particularly galling when Shearer was England captain and the refs were definitely favourable towards him. As were the commentators.
Quickly becoming one of the best podcasts around! Question for all of you - what has been your worst/most embarrassing moment on air whilst working as a pundit live etc?
Listening to Gary talk about world cup 86 & 90 is the absolute pinnacle of why this podcast matters. It's great to hear Alan and Micah's stories, but I love hearing about Gary's experiences, as I don't remember our know that much about football before the Premier league. Sensational stuff from all 3 of them. It's quickly becoming a must-listen podcast as soon as it comes out
i can remember meeting alan shearer for the first time ever, i was 17 years old and star struck so i said "alright shearer" he didnt even look at me walked passed and just said "Mr Shearer to you" almost 12 years ago and it still hurts 😂
I am not sure if they see these comments or if they have admin that run it. But I want to say thank you for your podcasts. They have made my darker days more worthwhile by making them a better day. The laughs bring my spirits up every time. Keep up the great work.
They might not see them mate, but others do. Couldn’t agree more about the podcasts, they are absolute quality. Whatever you’re going through I wish you all the best going forward. Respect to you 👍
Really really loving the show. I live in the US so we don’t get MOTD and I love hearing Gary and Alan talk. Same goes for Micah, but he’s the one we do get here.
How have I only just found this show. LOVE THIS. I barely even watch football tbh but MOTD Top 10 is one of my fav shows. The banter between these 3 is class. Big Meeks is TV gold. So to find this… mint
Great podcast. Italia 1990, bloody hell!! Gary's story after the semifinal loss. Very moving. After the group stage mutiny, after Belgium, after Cameroon, to lose on penalties in the semi. Gutting.
oh man i love these 3. alans goal celebration was his own, so i think it makes it a brilliant one. Loved when Alan said "well youve bloody seen it 422 times" responding to micah about his celebration!! great craic!
2:35 Interesting Fact- Dimitar Berbatov idolised Shearer as he was growing up so when he became a pro and scored he payed his tribute to Shearer by lifting up his hand in the air in the same way 👍
Italia 90 was bittersweet. The tournament that was a positive game changer for football, but Gazza's yellow card and his reaction to it, was heartbreaking and live on prime time telly. That squad would have been beyond devastated in the aftermath. When you see a hard man like Stuart Pearce sobbing, you knew how emotional the whole event was.
I was born in 1990 and am a Newcastle fan so have seen plenty of documentaries of Italia 90. SBR''s a legend to me obviously so seeing his touchline emotions get me every time. Wanted to win like each and every one of us. @@mediacenterman8583
Guys, seriously, what a superb F**king podcast this is. The three of you just have such chemistry and always take and give the banter in equal measure. Reminds me of my playing days, brilliant
blasphemous ! shearer's celebration is the best ever !!! iconic !! i even got him to do it for me in a bar in the toon! :) and yes he was wearing double denim!!!
Loving the podcast so far lads keep it up, just a quick question for you 3, if you could bring any club from any league from any time period and put them in todays premier league to battle for the top spot, which club would you choose?
This podcast is actually better then overlap in my opinion but I'd say they all need to be in one room together and have one camera shot the whole time
Euro 96 was the best tournament by far, We didnt win it all, but the world then was a completely diff place. It was another world compared to todays one. Everyone was together for that in liverpool it was just like everyone was part one family for that month. Flags on every house, and on every person. Today its not the same people stick to them selves people are more angry more seperate, if u lived through that u know if u didnt. Its hard to put that into words. Stay safe 👊
haha Micah with the sexual gesture was brilliant. I admit, I hated him when he first started punditry but he's come along way since then and I find him entertaining and honest and enjoyable. Lineker and Shearer will always be my footballing idols. Who didn't do the great simple Shearer celebration after smashing in a goal and wheeling off? Finally former footballers talking about that scoring a goal feeling. Brilliant. Great podcast
Gary you made me 😢 😅 what a great story. I always wondered how you felt after that game. I sure know how it feels as fans just awful ,but WOW we never think how the players might be after something that emotional. Great story. Thank you. Amazing people is amazing podcasts. I must ask a question at some point.
AS is known as a moody bstd, but, not to me. I was at the station, and I see this guy, out the corner of my eye, I think it's someone, I know, so I raise my left hand, he does the same, I realise and pmlfn . I think I've just scored for the toon He gets on the train. Good man. Best celebration, ever.
