Little advice for everyone: if you don't care much for the portability, check out the Belkin 3-in-1 boost pad instead. It charges three devices, MagSafe compatible BUT the Apple Watch charge supports fast charging for series 7 whereas this mophie one does not.
I tried belkin’s solution today. It’s decently compact for travel but obviously not as compact as mophie’s. Compared to the MagSafe Duo, it feels a lot less premium. With a lot of plastic.
@@damnfreakingsien I agree with you. I stuck with Belkin because it had fast charge for series 7. That makes the build worth it for me. I’m also not traveling so , personally, compact fit isn’t something I need
In opinion, there are 2 alternatives to it . 1) Buy Belkin dual C type port 40 watt adapter.. you can charge any two devices simultaneously . 2) or Buy Apple’ MagSafe power bank or any other MFI power bank
I’m honestly thinking about getting one of these chargers soon for my night stand or when I travel. Finally something that will give you good wattage when charging your devices! 😁
Great 😊👍 coverage again! I'd like to see some tests of how "long" it takes to charge the individual devices, when it's just one on the charger, and how long with 2, all 3 ....is it the same? Just curious 🧐 .....What I still can't get over is everytime "15 watts" is mentioned! It's like it's like I'm in a time warp back to 1997 or something, especially with Android phones, like OnePlus 10 hitting 80 watts with plug-in, and 50 watts magnetic charging. My old OnePlus only has 35 watt-charging (only lol 😆) .....but with that "Warp Charging" I'm topped off in minutes vs hours. Considering my MacBook Pro has fast-charging, and after 30 to 40 minutes I'm good to go 👍 all day 😊, you'd think that would be a priority for Apple, for their watches, phones, everything.........
Nearly everyone talks about Wattage as a speed. It is a unit of power. Only one manufacturer gave me actual times to charge each item separately, or all 3 together. They were all slower than using the charging cables supplied with each Apple product. Just a lot of Marketing Hype in my opinion. Terry Davis
Ya know I really wish it would come with fast charging for Apple Watch, similar to the Belkin boost 3-1 charger with 15w magsafe and fast charging Apple Watch. But that didn’t stop me from ordering it
Can you please tell me how long does it take to charge Apple watch series 7? I am concerned that it might be slow. Still undecided as to whether buy this one or the belkin alternative which supports fast charging for the Apple watch.
belkin's new 3-in-1 def has the more pleasing apple-esque design, but mophie not only has travel capabilities, but also a regular usb-c detachable cable. makes it even more versatile imo.
@@gehtdinichtsan309 I agree. If belkin made it usbc to usbc or even A. it would have been better for travel. The plug looks huge. Considering to opt for this instead.
I’ll stick with Apple Duo for travel, does this Belkin support Apple Watch 7’s quick charge? At home 7.5W Qi charger works just fine for overnight and has a lot less heat.. probably leading to better battery longevity.
Hmmm - just received my morphie 3 in one charger - it worked fine for 2 nights then just stopped and now refuses to charge the phone - the other 2 work fine but the phone magnetises to the charger but no MagSafe ping and no charge at all! I tried another usb c cable and another charger plug - no luck! Very disappointed, have put in a request for a replacement but will wait and see.
The price is where I’m stuck at as well. I have the Belkin 3 in 1 stand but that sits at my desk. That justifies the $150 price because I’m at my desk everyday. However paying $150 just for a travel accessory seems unnecessary and isn’t bringing much value for me. I only travel maybe 2-3 times a year. Also the fact Mophie doesn’t have fast charging for Series 7 is a bummer. It seems more ideal and useful to have fast charging when traveling, you never knew when you may be pressed for time. Even if I spent the money on a product like this, the Belkin 3 in 1 pad is a better option because of fast charging. While maintaining the same price point.
This is a really cool charger, but I think the magsafe duo is still a nicer charger for most people. you can reverse fold the duo, which is extremely nice when there is space constraint. plus the duo is more compact, making it more friendly to bring to office. nevertheless, the mophie is excellent mainly as a travel pouch if you travel ALOT.
@Elyse Sanders at the moment, I don’t think so. There are other third parties one that I’ve seen selling for $20, but whether it will last/safe to use, I don’t think it’s worth the risk. I have AirPods as well, but the duo is more than sufficient imo. I don’t charge my AirPods often and usually leave an old lightning dock for the job. 😊
I have the regular 3 in 1 mophie home charger & I was waiting to see this hands on review on the 3 in 1 mophie travel charger but I’ve decided that I’m gonna go with the 2 in 1 MagSafe duo for my iPhone 11 AirPods Pro & Apple Watch SE. the reason behind that is AirPods don’t even take long to charge.
I was about to ask if it fast charges the Watch Series 7, but seeing that the box only states iPhone 12, I didn't think so since Series 7 didn't come out yet at the time they made it.
I can’t wait until I get it tomorrow from Amazon. I was going to purchase from my local Apple store, but after taxes it was $169 vs paying a little over $109 on Amazon.
My Apple Watch 7’s charger crapped out in less than a month. My phone carrier didn’t have a replacement charger in stock..WTF! Called Apple their flagship store on 5th Ave in NYC and the one by Lincoln Center were both OUT OF STOCK!!! Apple made me an appointment at their Genius Bar at the Madison Ave location, I went in they were OUT OF STOCK!!! While waiting a replacement charger that could take 3-5 business days…Seriously!!! Having a proprietary charger that you can’t even keep in stock is insane for consumers. That said I did pick up the Mophie 3-in-1 charger to try out while waiting my replacement charging cord. Have the Mophie iPhone stand that’s made out of the same materials, I really love the thing. Figure I’ll end out keeping this 3-in-1 because it’s easy to keep in a bag or on a desktop. They make great quality stuff, definitely need more Mophie in my life.
Bought this after seeing this video prove the device was delivering expected Wattage. Immediately noticed that after a few charging cycles, the MagSafe charger would no longer charge anything, my iPhone 13 Pro or even AirPods Plus. Unplugging from power and plugging back in would restore it to working order. But it would always fail again and require this hard power reset. Again, not an iPhone issue like smart charging taking over, since any Qi device I put on it would not charge after this happened, but would then start charging after the power reset. Posted to Reddit and one person confirmed they had same problem. Ended up returning it, which is a shame because it is a beautifully conceived and designed travel charging kit. 😥
This just happened to me. But it took longer, so I couldn’t return it. Got a replacement instead (they sent me a refurbished one) and this one is no better. What a major disappointment and waste of money.
Does anyone have an opinion on if this would make a good charging solution for 90% home nightstand use and 10% travel? Wondering if long term it would (seem to) hold up well for daily use, and if that felt-like material would be super slipper on a nightstand … thanks for your opinion!
I actually really like that Apple leaves most of the accessories to third party vendors. As a consumer I love the amount of choice and variety we get. Sure they have a version of their own but you are free to choose what best suits your needs and style. I really like this Mophie triple charger and think I’d pick one up for when I go on holiday so I can easily charge my kit in the hotel room.
Surprised you did not notice and mention that the "hole" for the airpods is NOT future proven. What happens if the next airpods have a differently shaped case that does not fit in the hole???
The right way to do this test is really compare the wattage of different combos of iphone, airpods, and apple watch, as well as the standalone numbers. This feels like a sponsored add
I would disagree with this killing apple's MagSafe. I bought this right when it was released and I was super excited as I love mophie products. This is just as nice as the reviewer mentions here but ultimately I took it back and bought the MagSafe duo. To be clear, I do believe the MagSafe duo is overpriced, it should have been like 100. With that said. this product while cool is only better if you do NOT have any sort of daily carry already in place. I bought this and realized I already have a tech pouch (bellroy tech pouch) with all the cables and adapters I need. This means I don't need the (admittedly) nice pouch or the cable and adapter it comes with. Are they nice to have? sure but why should I spend 30 more dollars on something I don't need. The 3 charging ports work but while I have my phone, watch, and AirPods, I realized I don't need the charging pad exclusively for the AirPods because I don't charge them nearly as much as the other 2. Because of the 3rd airpod mat, this thing is not nearly as foldable as the MagSafe duo. The MagSafe duo folds down super small and fits immediately into my tech kit, no changes on my end are needed. Ultimately if you don't have any sort of daily carry for your apple devices and you want to get one, this is a great product. If you already have everything like cables, adaptor, and a tech case or pouch, just get the MagSafe duo, it will integrate immediately into what you have easily (which I assume is apple's intention). I don't even care about the charging speeds because when I travel I would use this to put my devices on at night, meaning I don't care if it's slower, it will be charged by morning.
I bought the duo on discount for 100 USD. It's such a lovely charger. For that price paid I get to cut down the number of cables in my bag. if i'm travelling to my office I don't need such a bulky pouch to hold my tech essentials. The magSafe duo is so compact it'll fit well into any bags.
Why do you talk about Apple in every video? I like your content, not because it is about Apple products, but because you give nice and honest reviews and likewise I wished you reviewed other products like Android or windows ONLY and not a comparison with Apple.
Yes, I thought 🤔 that was obvious. Some tech reviewers are niche-focused, and I think that's a "good thing". I think you get a deeper perspective. That said, he does review non-Apple devices, such as the review of Maingear's Vector Pro, and the Pixel.....
I'm glad this still charges my OG AirPods Pro. I cannot keep up with all the AirPods they have! I need this accessory like now to use on my desk and fold up when not needed.
I don't think Apple should have done this, I enjoy the simplicity of the MagSafe Duo -but my wife is VERY interested in this Belkin one so that she can have one charger at home and take the same charger with her when we travel. I guess the issue with the MagSafe Duo for her is that she can't charge her AirPods Pro at the same time as her phone.
Nope! Apple’s recommendation for the MacSafe Duo is at least the 20 Watt power adapter as you can see directly in the description of the device at their homepage! Reading and understanding helps! 😉
Does the pad charge up or do you always have to plug it in? Are there any on the market that does this? I just received this product today and awhile I like it I misunderstood and thought you could charge the pad up
I got an Anker 747 and its been great because my PC is USB-C. Yes I lug cables around, but with the power bank I need cables anyways. Once Apple goes to USB-C I will only be carrying 2 cables with me and the 747 is perfect for me now. I appreciate the thought of this charger, but it doesn’t fast charge the Apple Watch and so expensive. (I got my 747 for $80 bucks)
Mine seems to have trouble connecting to my iPhone 14 Pro Max. I lay it on the charger and nothing. If I unplug it and right back in it starts charging my phone.
I just did the same thing. Did Zagg ship it yet? I did next day shipping. Only thing I did a warranty replacement and got my replacement a month later? Hopefully not the same with my charger
Max, I’d like to know how you got your Milanese Loop apart like that. Is it a third party version? I find that it’s impossible to get the little magnetic clasp through the eyelet, so although you can make the loop loose enough to let your hand through, you can never disconnect it from the watch.
@@BoOurak Hah! Well that's very interesting. In fact, I have two Apple watches now - both with Milanese loops. My original Series 2 is silver, and I've just got a new Series 7 in gold. It's COMPLETELY IMPOSSIBLE to undo the original silver Milanese loop: it's simply too tight, and the little buckle end absolutely will NOT go through the eyelet. I had assumed it was designed this way on purpose, to stop it from coming apart. However, I've just tried it with my new gold Milanese loop - which I'd simply assumed would be the same - and in fact it's completely different. With the new gold one, it's not even tight! I can pass the magnetic end through the eyelet very easily both ways if I try! It's still perfectly secure, and won't come apart unless I undo it deliberately, but nevertheless, what's impossible on the silver loop is easy on the gold one.
I would always use a cable for an iPhone on the go except in the car, maybe. Just so much faster. I have a 3-in-1 charger next to my bed, but that is for overnight and helps tidy my bedside table.
I am using the 14 Pro with Apple Watch and Galaxy Buds Live, will the Buds charge on this charger? Does it support Qi and will it fit in there ( it looks like it might not due to the trough for the AirPods (the case of the Buds live is a bit bigger)?
