I'm pretty content with just using the USB, there's minimal differences and it still sounds good. Great video as always!

I got this mic today. I have it hooked up with USB at the moment. I was using a $50 HyperX SoloCast before this and mostly everyone I talk to on discord said they can't really notice much of a difference between my solocast and the MV7. maybe its just discord, but I listened, and I definitely notice a difference. the USB is good enough for me, especially with the ShurePlus Motiv app. I'm happy. the difference between USB and XLR on the MV7 isn't so good that it warrants a GoXLR purchase.

Yeah, I have an mv7 as well, and it sounds like a mic from wired airpods when i tested it on discord, and then I tested it through audacity, and the difference was night and day.

@@totowolff3229 mv7 is one of the best mics you can buy a top 5 at that. But, using anything good on discord will distort it due to the ai discord has you have to disable all that ai crap discord has

I think the MV7 is a fantastic microphone, its something I recommend to my friends if they wanted to up their audio a bit more. One of my friends has it and his audio is crisp. Worth the asking price!

Xlr or usb?
@IcepickXIII
@IcepickXIII 3 месяца назад
@@MrFindme12 it has both, actually! While I tend to lean that you use XLR whenever possible, the MV7 allows you to choose whichever one you need or have available at the time. So you can use USB and then switch to XLR once you get an audio interface!

The USB seems to remove the imperfections/ noises from your mouth, while the XLR I can hear it, there was also a slight lower quality in the last word, ''minus'' sounded differently higher pitch, they definitely sound similar on Philips Fildeio X2HR. Both sound superb. But some of it might be possible to fix in pin equalizing software. XLR sounded more natural. So I will definitely get an audio interface. But my 3.5 jack for my head phones sticking up and cable hanging down from the top of my pc case, I want a interface anyway to not have the cable this awkwardly placed, and at higher risk of damaging it. But the Philips cable is great. But my mdomic5 cable was fragile, so was the one I replaced it with. MV7 Looks promising, I like that it does not have an external cable like SM7B, one less thing to go wrong.

When using it with USB, does it still have the characteristic of a Cardioid Dynamic mic?
@dharvell

The XLR definitely had a little more body to it. Quick question: when using this mic with XLR, how is the mic powered? Do you still have to plug it in with USB for power? Does it require 48V phantom power? Is it passive? The user's guide doesn't seem to cover much on the XLR usage aspect of this mic.

Question I have a mv7 and going to use the xlr cord. Going to record with the zoom h6. Do I need a cloudlifter??
@DrivewithTony
@DrivewithTony Год назад
the usb is good for streaming, gaming etc. but if you want to record a song in cubase (or another recording software) you need xlr and a external sound Card. because the latency is annoying.

Hello, I was wondering I have the mv7 for quite some times now and would like to upgrade to XLR but my headphones are wireless.. Will that be an issue if I buy an audio interface? Planning to get scarlett 2i2.

You would most likely need some type of bluetooth transmitter to plug into the audio jack

Just plug your MV7 Shure Mic into the USB C slot on your computer and plugin your XLR cable to your interface. Once you have power and everything is turned on with your mic, and yellow dots are glowing again but are now also connected to the interface. Then, go into your DAW, go to settings for mic audio, and choose the interface you are using to use for your recordings, once you select that option you will finally be using the XLR cable plugin for your vocals. It will work great! I hope this helps someone and makes it easier for you to know how to use the XLR cable with the interface for your Shure MV7 USB XLR cable Mic. Enjoy your new mic! It's an awesome one. ⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟⭐️⭐️⭐️ 💡💻🖥🎛🎚🎧🎵🎶🎙🎵🎶

Hey, really enjoying your reviews, they are very helpful. I would love your take on a use case I am trying to solve: I need a good audio set up for 4/5 people sitting sound a table with one or two zooming in to play D&D. We have tried a few different speakers (Bose Resolve II has howled the best). Curious on how you might solve for this. I’m looking at two Yet X mics for the table and Agato Wave 3’s for the people on zoom calls…

Are you looking to record the audio/video, or are you just trying to have the audio as clear as possible to minimize communication problems?

Both would be perfectly fine for what you are using them for, and honestly might be overkill. You could just go with something like the classic Blue Yeti and you probably won't notice a difference! The Blue Yeti Nano would also be an option, but it lacks the stereo mode and bidirectional mode, so it would be best used for just one person.

i feel they beyerdynamics headphones need a amp to make them have their true potential. i bought the 990s and was very under whelmed with the depth of sound from them so i bought a amp and its night and day the difference of sound. given the quality of amp you get will make a difference

Used XLR & USB there is no difference only thing XLR is it gives you options do to other things 🤔 but their is truly no difference. Here is a little bit more to make an educated decision. For online meetings, gaming or streaming, I prefer my USB microphone, because it is convenient. It comes with routing software, and the whole thing is designed for these purposes, it even has a dedicated mute button. XLR When it comes to recording professionally, be it voiceover, vocals, instruments, and so on, I prefer my XLR microphones. I can use the analog/digital converters that I prefer, I can change the microphone for different applications.

First tests were very close, so that was my first thought, but last one I heard a difference for sure, XLR sounded clearer, heard the mouth noises more, and pitch was more natural at the end when he said ''minus'', on USB it was lower quality, but on the other words it was almost no difference. But I listened on Philips Fidelio X2 HR. So as he said depending on the headphones used you might not hear it. But some people might not hear it anyway. But both performed very well.
