Cheers for breakdown video! I'm considering building a similar structure to house some birds and I'm wondering whether you think it would be suitable if made to the same insulated standard?
I’d be tempted to put more insulation in that what I did (maybe kingspan) it still gets hot in the summer even with the windows open, us humans are able to open a window and put a fan on to regulate the heat, birds can’t and I’m sure they mean a great deal to you 👍
Ey up duck! I built a 4x3 cabin. Base is a 3x2 timber frame on 3x3 posts concreted in the ground. Damp membrane on top, total was around £200. Cabin was a spring bargain £1800! Did the wood treatment same as you, same cost. Not insulated/stud walls inside yet. How are you finding the inside temp.in hot weather? Does the insulation work the opposite way in summer?
Ey up duck, the insulation certainly helped control the temperature a little, it still gets worn in the summer and the windows need to be opened at times, I think you would need a substantial amount of thick insulation to keep the temperature regulated without any need for heating or cooling inside and then you would loose inside space, what I did helped for sure on a budget 👍
