With a lot of entertainers today, their singing sounds rehearsed, produced, and planned. With Amy, you can tell it's ad lib. She''s singing from the heart rather than performing audio gymnastics aimed to impress. Every rendition of the same song sounded different. These are some of the reasons her music resonated with so many people. It feels raw and authentic because it was.

The first time I saw her was very early in her career when she appeared on a UK music panel show. She was young, very attractive and very funny. By the time she won her Grammys, you could see that she was so very deeply under the influence of drugs, it was so sad to see. It's so tragic that she died so young. We just have to be grateful for what she left behind in terms of her music.

I think you'd love Paul Weller and Amy Winehouse on The Jools Holland show. Either Don't go to Strangers or I heard it through the grapevine. I met her father a couple of times,he seemed ok, even though some people were a little bit antagonistic towards him. He's a father who lost a child, I can't even imagine!

You are both spot on, where as most artists perform a well rehearsed technical masterclass when they perform live Amy was very much off the cuff. At her best her talent really shined through like this just like this performance but when she was struggling with the substance abuse it worked against her. The comments section are demanding Back to Black and i can understand why, it's her most iconic song, even more iconic than rehab and the lyrics are deeply personal to her so would make for a great reaction... P.S. Love you both!

The full studio version is from the Mark Ronson album Version. Every track is a cover reworked by Ronson and sung by a different artist. Valarie was originally a hit for the Zutons. Both versions are great.

She was sober for months, she died from alcohol poisoning. Purely unintentional- she also suffered from bulimia - it was a mixture of the two that took that phenomenal talent too soon.

It kind of annoys me how EVERY SINGLE reaction video to an Amy Winehouse song is either "Back to Black" or "Valerie." And I say that because I mean yes to a certain degree without looking into it those are the most known records she released and by the same token sold the most. But like honestly she was SOOO much more than just those two songs!! - You Sent Me Flying - In My Bed - Stronger Than Me - Just Friends Are all brilliant and I implore anyone who hasn't extensively listened to her material to at least give these a fair shake.

Zutons was the original band that made this song. She does the song with a full band which sounds a lot better. She did a live performance of the song she wrote called stronger than me .This before the drug good song about her x. She also did a duet with Frank Sinatra. When she performed at Nelson Mandela's Berday . The song stronger than me was performed on David Letterman show. You can find it all so other places. Watch u every day.

Amy had an amazing and utterly distinctive voice, a real natural talent and greatly missed. If you want to check out another amazing vocalist, check out Jessie J's live performances as she is nothing short of sensational. Her stripped back acoustic versions are majestic, but also check her out on the TV show The Singer where she routinely leaves the audience stunned.

That's not, like, a revelation - you knew just by looking at her... She would have died eventually, the way she was going, but what really killed her was the bulimia... I think that it left her weaker and more susceptible. Had she not had an eating disorder, she would have been physically stronger!!😢

The pathologist said that another factor was that her heart and lungs were damaged by smoking crack cocaine. So after not drinking for a while the sudden binge of alcohol was too much for her weakened system.

She was amazing and had some very good tracks and a lot of her success was accredited to the slick productions by Mick Ronson and Rami Salaam but I love hearing the stripped down acoustic versions, like this one, when it was just Amy and a guitarist. Thankfully a lot of these performances were recorded and uploaded , I especially like this version of her hit Love Is A Losing Game, written when She was 16 and performed here at SXSW . Amy's death makes me so mad. To have such incredible standout talent, but to not be able to use it to take control of her life. There are many people who suffer from various conditions that financially prevent them from receiving the help they need. I know she was not a bad person, and my anger comes more from frustration, than blame. She could have stayed a huge singing star to this day, just wowing people with her talent.

The exceptional voice of Amy Winehouse lost far too early. Just one thing she was winning her addiction to drugs and alcohol. Unfortunately the liver stores toxins and if not monitored releases them at any time without notice. This is what happened with Amy and a few others.

You could feel the pain in her voice. She was bipolar and didnt like how the prescription drugs made her feel so she self medicated with street drugs and eventually overdosed
