A few years ago I worked at ups it was 15 an hour and they got sued for nessing up on the checks then I went to Amazon which was paying 20$ an hour. When I was at Amazon was more organized by far, and cared about its workers ups didn’t do shit nothing 😅
@@_cali187x_3 well i cant speak for everyone and same probably goes for you too but im from ca UPS starting is $21 preloader but idk if it was changed before i joined in. Everywhere warehouses you go is either a hit or miss for each individual dont wholeheartedly blame the company itself thats if you're still young then you got lots to learn but rather the group you participated with such as your supervisors, coworkers, etc. Me personally i experienced some good and bad supervisor/coworker in the same building. Stir away from the bad apples and you'll do just fine.
When I did amazon delivery I was one of the top drivers with 190-200 stops daily and high 300 packages… paid 18.25. It’s hard work and the pay was not worth it. Amazon drivers deserve more pay tbh.
Yess I agree I work as a delivery driver and there was never a shortage of work and rescues every day definitely under paid looking to get my cdl iam done with that place and there abuse
Amazon's fckn ruthless. Did almost a year in the distribution center as a picker. You're to pull something like 400 items an hour. If you aren't meeting the quota, they will come talk to you. Absolutely miserable.
@@robertswift6101 of course they won't unless they are being told by someone higher up which in this case I've seen it before only because they have done the job before they had their supervisor position and it usually on days of short handed workers. For the ones that thinks they know the job pssh i wouldn't even bother to waste my energy of them and keep it moving until they think otherwise 😂
Trained for 3 days... worked 1 day... quit this morning... 2nd day 😂... st8 ass of a job. Tried to throw me in a regular rented uhaul van... then tried to shade me as "unprofessional" for walking out on that BS Lmaooo... didn't even give them the dignity of a response 😂
@@Sabrinajeromej That was the only benefit. But it had a wall between the front seats and the back so you had to get all the way out of the van and go to the side or back door to even get back there... No thanks lol
Also the stop count doesn’t include group stops, so if you have 190 stops with 45 of them being group stops, you’re really delivering to 220+ locations. Their workload should b illegal lol
today i had 165 stops with 40 businesses packages (which i hate cause they slow me down) and then i had to rescue somebody afterwards. i worked clocked in at 10:50Am and clocked out at 10:30Pm i rescue somebody pretty much everyday, theres like 15% chance that ill go home early
I was an Amazon driver for 1 week and then I quit. The pay is absolutely garbage. Super physically demanding you will be EXHAUSTED at the end of every day and after taxes you’re two week paycheck is less than $1000. These people deserve better wages. You can literally make more money doing doordash in a busy area
@@G_Money_ even if ups drivers get done before their shift is over with they still get paid the full shift. i was a package handler and that shit easy asf my driver put me on game.
Its not for everyone. Me, personally enjoy driving. Its 100% better than being inside the DS warehouse at Amazon. Working inside is brutal af. Get the experience, get your DOT and you can negotiate hire wages, like I've done for more money.
I’m working at Amazon right now for the summer, will quit soon as august ends and my semester picks right back up. My experiences with it, they demand the very little things of you, there’s the Amazon labeled vans and those have cameras, there’s also white rental vans they use and those are nice cause no cameras. They want you to turn ya engine off at every stop but I’m one of the ones that don’t cause with this heat they got the wrong one. Typically the routes vary depending on the area, typically they range from 150-190 daily over by manahawk, if you do LBI it’s about 90-120 stops. I’m the type to rush it and finish super early cause I’m trynna go home, I don’t rescue nobody and that’s that. I would recommend it if you don’t want to be nagged and want to make a quick buck, I always have my headphones on and blast music and my day goes by fast.
They upgrade, and you.. well you and i are just a number to them haha the world goes round it doesnt stop they have it at their pams they're at the top now so yeah they could care less for their workers but their machine ouuu they going need someone to do that unfortunately always somebody looking to get paid too. 😅
Shit pay for the amount of stress you put on your knees and back. Also Amazon groups stops with plenty of houses/ apartments that aren’t next to each other as one stop. You can get anywhere from 40 -90 group stops so in reality y’all probably have over 200 stops everyday. Dead end job only take it if you’re in between jobs and need something on your résumé.
This is what happens to desperate people...been there in those type of situations...Dead end job! the amount of work you do is about 50% more and you are stressed all day..To make a few dollars more you are killing yourself... because outputs have no standards...just do as much as you are able..says Lord Amazon..Legal slavery.
@@scotthearts9634 but sh.ttt if you get comfortable with the position you not going realize you'll be there a lot longer than you expected = time wasted as I experienced first hand smh 😅
Not necessarily there’s tons of stories of lottery winners becoming broke from over spending but if your smart with your money then it’ll last , also if he’s a billionaire he should be able to afford to pay his employees a decent amount of money just like ups workers who they pay good money to deliver they’re packages 📦
@@Yimstamusyes but you have to get 6+ months of seniority in the warehouse and might take years to get a position, its hot as balls without AC in the trucks and Benefits only kick in after working 9 months of work. Yes in hours, Not days or months. Pension is after being there 5 years and 40 hr is max atter being there 4 years. First year can be as low as 18.59 the hr.
I was a delivery driver in the Bay Area and they definitely overload you with packages and when you finish your 11 hour shift they will send you to help other people deliver their packages with no opportunity for a raise
@@davidrynberk1533 it's not , it's voluntary and you are paid. You can finish a flex route faster than the alloted time and still get paid the full amount , therefore increasing your hourly rate. There isn't a 4 hour cap , you just can't take another offer if you currently have a 4 hour block even if you finished it fast. Flex is great for a side hustle or multi Apping. DSP's pay you $18/hr and load you with 300+ packages . You can work a similar time span and deliver half if not a third of that volume with Flex and at base pay you're making the same amount . Amazon is only good for a quick buck , I wouldn't recommend sticking with it unless you are an absolute brain let with no other options. Get paid and get out.
This is a joke...no limits on how much crap is pushed out daily .The door is revolving, not many who will put up with this for too long.I mean you do that much work you are working 50% more just to make a few more dollars,is a little crazy!
Striking is almost impossible, Amazon driver are not employed by amazon but through 3rd party contractor. If you’re looking to strike, amaozn will kick your team out and have you replaced in a matter of second. There are 5-10 different contractors working competing against one another. Hard to strike when they divide all their workers and set them up for a competitor battle for the best team.
What people don’t realize, the job sucks, you not only have to drive big trucks, there’s traffic, a lot of obstacles, then have to deal with customers who complain or Karen’s.. Sometimes you gotta carry big bulky heavy shiiii by yourself… But overall you have 100plus stops per day and have to do it in a time frame… So basically you’re always rushing… Good job when your young but when you get older it’s horrible
Insane! anybody who drives in the city knows how difficult it can be....but to deliver over 100 packages a day plus...you are working 50% harder...than most jobs for just a few more dollars. Some people most have issues over time physically ,over using their body parts that much.Sounds like cheap labour, or more like slavery.
@@davidrynberk1533 It’s good when you’re young but once you get in your 30s your see the change and older you’re gonna be hurting, slave drivers, 100plus stops per day rushing to beat time lines. Not to mention UPS got No A/C so if your route is in a Bad Area you most likely getting robbed or worst… Your Safety ain’t worth your Longevity
@@ilumanati669 This is for the under 30s crowd for sure. The number of stops a day just shows the company could care less about their workers health and safety. The traffic alone is enough to make you want to be stressed, add no a/c , thats to me slavery or close to it.The pay doesn't even make sense, you are doubling your work to make 10% more...forget it..Amazon is taking advantage big time.
All you have to do is drive and walk. Its not hard..just drive and walk... Anyone whose done peopleready, or any other construction labor or demolition, or trenching for 8 hours knows real heavy work. Its just orginization, and walking.. if it takes longer cus the phone slow, thsts on them.. but wll you gotta do is just walk... Little kids used to work in coal mines and steel factories for 15 hour days... N!ggcz used to be in the fields from dusk till dawn, n now rhe mexicans iz, so what iz anyone twlkin bout like thiz hard wrk. Its ezy as a nice smooth shht.. 4 real
Depends who you get along with also know your supervisor and the small group you're working with you aint got much of a choice but to try understand your surroundings a little more so you can have yourself a picture if you want to fire it or leave it be your decision.
Organize with the Teamsters and make more than 19 . I am a fulltimer at top rate , I do the same numbers on my route with less pieces and make 45.83 an hour , OT , pension I got 29 years in and get two months of vacation time per year , 5 floating holidays and a personal week, 7 sick days. Organize!
People gotta realize some of those stops are combined deliveries so for example two houses across the street from eachother moght show as one stop even tho its actually two. Same for apt buildings
Sooner or later they'll have to learn to think for themselves and apply that as resume to get the f outta there and find their worth for years to come time cant be brought ⏳️
@@le0redd104 doesn't fix the systemic problem. When you're the worlds largest corporation, you're setting a precedent and influence policy and law. Sure you can easily just tell people don't work there, or to look for better but the point is that you shouldn't destroy yourself for a job and not get adequate compensation or safe working environments. The amount of workers rights that violated in this industry is sad. We're going in a downhill trajectory.
Why is everybody saying that this is too physically demanding? like I used to deliver pizza and I loved it and had to carry heavy ass bags of pizza sometimes but that never really bothered me. I used to do that shit 80 hours a week.
Hes a stepvan driver. They get paid an extra $1 - $2 over the electric and gas van drivers. He most likely drove a regular van for $18.50 and his company liked him so they sent him out to get his DOT and class C to drive stepvan. Stepvans hold more packages which you are expected to deliver in the same amount of time! Do not recommend! Dead end, back breaking job. These are jobs you get instead of collecting unemployment!
They wanted me to speed walk non-stop for 7-10 hours. Hop in/hop out, seatbelt, 150 times per day under the sun. Most labor intensive jobs i have worked. I hated working there. $18.50 for the regular Ford Transit vans. Dead end, back breaking Job.
Yea they suck and you need to hurry up. If not, your boss will call you and ask you. Why are you taking so long stupid job nobody makes it over 3 months.
I had a Ford transit that was leaking out of the dash (?! Wtf ?!) The other day. Also just so happened to be the worst route I've gotten so far. It's almost like they're trying to get me to quit
DON’T automatically assume these ppl who are saying the job is ass are correct, factors like number of stops/packages and pay are mostly determined by what DSP you work for. Some treat their ppl better than others. TLDR- Not all delivery drivers are underpaid and overworked.
I agree with everyone here. Amazon Drivers are hella underpaid. I’m Over here with 170+ stops every day with apartments and they want me to get done before 8:00 and I barely take a break. Insane. All that bullshit for $100. Nah I’m good.
You can yell bro wanted to say "HELL NO I don't recommend this job to anybody " .lmao...Seriously though, don't drive for Amazon. The amount of work doesn't equal out to what you should ve getting paid. It's only 17.50 here in Texas. I'm about to quit whenever I get on with USPS.
They do the same thing but just better pay after 2 to 3 years it can get better .if you become a regular . So now you walking instead of driving... so now your knees bad after 6 month . Because you worked 6 , 7 days in a row . Every week .. no work life balance .. overtime every day ..
I am working for Amazon in Vienna. Normal tour we call when have about 60 stopps and about 120 packages, maximum is 150-160 packages, but often we have under a hundred packages. You guys have over 300 packages 😮
Job isn't really hard. I did it for 9 months in total. Doing 180-190 stops with 280-300 packages regularly with low compensation is what made me give it up. Amazon needs to pay their drivers more! 17.50 an hour is a rip off doing this job.
My youngest son used to worked for Amazon, nothing but garbage salary and let me not even get started with thier continues complaints day after day... Good 🤞 cause your going to need it
In my city they drop packages, don't knock on the door don't ring the bell and most are pretty rude. Not you of course but by me it's terrible so Amazon delivery people get an f minus and Amazon knows what's happening but it overworks these folks
Place around Atlanta quick trip in morning like 109 of them at that why wouldn't break it up not sit stand in line . Send fuel stop to not hold up . Need pumps on site fill up when end shift
Amazon is the only place where they will put a job offering online and lie about the pay ... theyll put job pay starting at $20 an hour but once your in you get paid minimum wage lol i was about to apply but i didnt
He has 130 stops but with 330 packages. I get 180 with 315 packages. So it mean mostly all his stops are grouped with like 3 diff houses or has like 7-8 packages every stop
I drive ambulate for a living for 17 years . I know about pickup and drop off and I tell you I’ll never do this job it’s way too much work for the pay . I wouldn’t go near that job they can keep it . Don’t worth it . I dough I pickup 25 patients a day .
It's not a good job. It's very stressful with the amounts of packages and stops. The pay is extremely low and no pay raise whatsoever. If you do get a raise It's no more than a dollar. If you don't pay rent or have any major financial responsibilities, please stay away.
Hey man, if you atleast enjoyed being a delivery man, check out ups. I'm a driver, and even though you can have anywhere from 70-180 stops, the pay is well worth it. I get 35/hr and OT. 10 hours a day average. The new contract jumped every driver to 41/hr, that will hit later this month. I'm not sponsored by ups I just think Amazon is absolutely taking advantage of people. They do the same work as me, and get paid half. It's insanity.
Soon all the driving will be done by autonomous trucks and vehicles and robots will deliver the packages. Barely any human jobs will be left. The rich get richer
He made that sound like it’s that easy it’s not that easy being a driver yall you have to deal with your rabbit malfunctioning dogs! Racism the weather people giving wrong jnfo for deliveries other drivers all in. A specified time frame ! Some days are better than other but it’s not a easy / cake job
The issue with DSP, is that Amazon sets the rules, and the DSP has to abide by it or they get NO MONEY for their work. That is why the pay is ass! Not because they want to be shitty, but because the parameters set by Amazon is fucking garbage and they always tack on more garbage every few years till its nearly impossible to do. DSP have to resort to rotating door hiring (aka, constantly hire new people to replace the people who will quit within a month or less). Those hired during peak season, are quickly culled when it comes down to quality during the off season. Amazon firmly believes they can just keep hiring regardless of how they treat their employees.
Amazon themselves as a company requires it for their employees. These Amazon drivers do not WORK for Amazon they are all independent contractors for a company that works FOR Amazon so they don’t require it in this specific role or depending on the DSP that you attend. There is no Amazon driver that’s employed directly by Amazon. Some DSP’s may require it.
Amazon is trash, if you can’t get work anywhere else then sure work at amazon for a few months but don’t settle that place will never get you anywhere. The paid is trash, no benefits and very abusive. There has been more times than I imagine of how disrespectful the boss are to their worker, literally treat employees like inmate. It don’t matter if you work your ass off for them, when it time to make room for new worker, older workers are out. 18$/h 170-190 stops upward 300 packages with 30+ oversize packages leaving almost no room to organize and move around inside of the van.
