Thanks Jimmy. I was just in Korea for almost 2 months and always talk shit about those Tik Toks and those americanos + ice. Its cheaper just going to Mega or that other place for like 2k won.
it's so nice to see how far you've come jimmy! I enjoy every video you put up and your one of the few creators I can actually watch the video all the way through lol...been watching you since you had about 5 viewers streaming valorant on twitch! hope your channel keeps on growing like it has been :)
2:50 omg thank you for telling the truth about korean convenience stores lol i am kinda disappointed by them now given how much people on the internet seemed to hype them up. as a student in korea i sometimes can't avoid coming home late and having no dinner option except convenience store food but i try to avoid it as much as possible nowadays... there are only so many 삼각김밥 and cheap sandwiches you can stomach lol
Hi Jimmy! I’ve downloaded a lot of your music on Spotify so I can listen to it when I’m off wifi too :) it’s been great for traveling and listening to during my ceramics class. I’d love to see a video about eating vegan in Korea.
As a vegan myself, I too would be interested in such content! We know Jimmy likes his meat, but if he's adventurous enough to have fun in a Japanese muscle bar, perhaps he'd be willing to try eating plant-based in Seoul for one day? 🌿
@@Pheelyp 🤣🤣🤣 I never thought I would see muscle bar and vegan in the same sentence. 😁 I'm thinking vegan cuisine is challenging to find just as much as Halal in Seoul but I have faith in Jimmy 😇🙏 as he enjoys a good challenge 💪👍
yeah it gets annoying how some youtubers love making repeat videos about Korean and Japanese 7Eleven, CU, FamilyMart, Lawson they always say all the food is "Uhhhh-may-zing the best thing they ever had!" 🙄🙄
$86 is quite a lot to spend in a day. For reference today, was typical day for me working from home. I’ll often not have breakfast and often skip lunch too. Wake up at 8.30 Actually get up at 9 Make a coffee (bag of beans £8/250g bag, think get 14 espressos from a bag) Milk (£1/5 coffee servings, so £0.20) Skipped breakfast and lunch. Had couple chocolates (maybe £1 at a push) Dinner made chicken sausages and instant mash with gravy (approx £7 for 2 people) So today I spent around £5.37 today.
Wow, what a deal!!! Living in SoCal, USA I think SK is super value for what you get!!! Seoul is a clean, safe nice city and you pay that little for meals, that’s really great!!! The best way is live is to earn money in US and spend in SK 😅😂
Jimmy, i love your channel, i am from Brazil and i hope to visit South Korea someday, i looks like an amazing country that it's worth the visit, unfortunately i can't do it now, travels from Brazil to Ásia are extremelly expensive and i am jobless now, but i enjoy watching your vídeos.
The minimum wage in the US is also around $7 in some states, but I’d say you need at least $15 for a good meal (and half the time it’ll just be burger and fries so it’s very bad for you) 😢
Am I still able to support by streaming your lofi music on Apple Music? I don’t use Spotify but I saw your music is on Apple Music! I want to make sure I can support you on there and you’ll still get paid!
Seoul is affordable compared to Singapore. Compared to Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur or even Hong Kong I prefer to go out and eat cheap in Seoul. Korean lunch boxes are the best. The cheapest 7-11 type lunch boxes were in Bangkok. In Bangkok the typical microwave lunch is in between $1 to $3. Looking forward to my next trip to Incheon in Dec. Great video Jimmy.
I love your videos, Jimmy! Your nice, sweet, and witty personality makes us big fans of yours! I don't live in Mexico, but if you're ever there, I'd love to see a video of you with chingu amiga and coreano vlogs. Best wishes and more success to you!😊
Hi Jimmy, I’m a new subscriber from Australia 👋 you’re very informative and funny. I’m heading to Seoul tomorrow, would love to know the restaurant where you show the Korean lunch? I really love Korean food, especially vegetable side dishes! 😋🤩
Hi Jimmy! I don't really comment things like this but I've been enjoying your content for a long time now and I have to say I really respect you and your values. I also grew up with my dad like that and a lot of creators don't really address/talk about those issues. Also, I remember in a stream you said you don't like when people chew with their mouth open too lol, and it's nice having a figure I can relate to (even if it's online). Thanks for the great content!
i think he was saying average 30 year old Korean makes 2K a month. A youtuber with with 400K subscribers can prolly make about 200K a year or so from youtube depending on how many videos they put out and views they get.
@@MrBojangles788 I'd figured around 100-120K with his channel size and views, factoring in adsense and sponsorships. But that's still a ton of money. Of course he has other revenue streams as well, as well as passives on other social media, so you might be right about those 200K.
Whaaa... happy to hear your plan to visit jakarta.. dont worry bout the water 😊 hope you will enjoy the trip and jakarta has lot of malls with many all u can eat restaurants.
as indonesian who likes to moves a lot throughout indonesia's regiond you dont need to worry about the water quality in jakarta as it's also the capital of the city unless of course you're staying in a slum area whichever you country goes to will have the same effect
After watching this I had to watch a similar vlog but in New York instead and the grand total in jedcal's vlog (subtracting rent since Jimmy didn't include it) is $169!!! AND he didn't even eat out for breakfast. ANDDDD the national minimum wage is still $7.25. Why is America so expensive
I think Seoul is very expensive.I only spend 20$ dollars per day in my country but I think it's because Korea is a rich country. For example our coffee the cheapest only cost 2$ dollars. But if you want full meal you can buy 2$ to 4$ in every meal.good for 4 people
Jimmy, as a Korean-American born and raised in NY that has been to several countries throughout East and Southeast Asia, I just want to provide you with some context as to why RU-vidrs and Tiktokers "hype up" meals that Korean convenience marts sell. Generally speaking, meals sold at CU or GS25 (or anything in S. Korea) are sold at a *fraction* of the price of how much it would be sold for in the U.S. Not only are the prices vastly different, most of our convenience markets don't even sell the same type of meals over here. The closest thing to a similar meal would be kimbap or pajeon, but this would only really be found at an H-mart, Hanyang mart, Assi plaza, or another East Asian market over here. And it costs roughly $8-12 USD for about 6-8 pieces. Even cup ramen is more expensive here ($1.75-3 USD per cup). Portion-wise, you're also being sold considerably more food over there, compared to to-go (or "grab-n-go") meals sold at convenience marts over here for how much you pay. The Cheonggukjang and suyuk you ordered at the restaurant costing $8.87 is ridiculously cheap. Ordering just the Cheonggukjang alone in NY or California would cost a minimum of $15-20. It's also served in lesser portions over here compared to how much you're given over there (Just talking about Korean restaurant servings, not fast food places like Burger King, McDonalds, etc). Nevermind the tipping culture in the US. I hope this clears things up in terms of why non-native Koreans are astonished at how "different" things are over there :)
To add to this comment, this is all before we even address the vast difference in quality of food. Ive had the chance to try some convenience food in Korea, and while the quality may not match most restaurants, it is still 1000% better then the quality of food prepare in the U.S. convenience stores. Additionally, the food we typically have available is limited in not only quality, but also limited in variety. You can only have so many gas station corn dogs before you never want one again. Also, Korean food in general has been gaining more and more popularity here in the U.S. over the last 10 years, so its still new and exciting for a lot of people. Lastly, since most of us do not get to eat this food normally(unless we are lucky enough to have a nearby resuraunt or market), even "bad" Korean food is still very good!
@@CosmicTerrorize Absolutely! You can't forget that the actual quality of the food in relation to the cost is far superior to what's served in the US. Thanks for bringing this up!
If you look older, then you need to eat more fresh vegetables and fruits and probiotics...... Do that everyday and after just one month, you Will look younger for sure.
Your music is nice just is quite not clean is like with a litter to much bass or something that you want to hear it but is heavy don't know how to explained I like to put it while working as background on home theater but I have to use it lower and closer so it sounds more cleaner less heavy 🤷
i started growing grey hair in my mid 20s possibly some in my early 20s. i'm in my mid 30s now so i have a lot more and i fully embraced it. i'm not sure when did george clooney started to have grey hair but i assume in his 30s as well so i like to think i'm aging like him 😏
Well, where I live you have to pay for the banchan in Korean restaurants. Maybe unless you order set meal you get a bit of kimchi. The all you can eat bbq restaurants provide free side dishes though. I think you would be shocked to hear that there is a restaurant that charges €8 for kimchi😂
Europe is the worst for Korean food eating hands down comparing NA / Asia / EU - in Canada you get really generous banchan almost always Korean food in SEA is actually pretty decent (so many Korean tourists here) I'm gonna guess Finland or Denmark for 8 euro kimchi
Its all relative, Jimmy. Convenience store meals in the US are absolute trash. So if you try a Korean convenience store meal after coming from america then the K-meal is a feast
I'm actually pretty particular about coffee and noticed for black coffee most places makes it too diluted for me. Mega is actually one of my go to place for coffee in korea because it is strong enough and of more than decent quality.
I have to agree with you. Many cafes here don't serve a strong espresso or drip cup. There are exceptions. The % Arabica Cafe at Starfield is one of the exceptions. Killer cup of espresso. I am extremely particular with my coffee too and it kills me inside seeing espressos being transferred into a shot glass/demitasse and then into the served cup. The fucking crema. Unfortunately, this is a global issue.
14:27 Idk if anyone else noticed but the person behind noticed jimmy and told others and they turned towards him like my friends would do when told not to make it obvious
