Hey Alex i was in malta around the time you made this video. This is really helpful as it gives me an idea of what it would cost me if I did take the decision to move there from the UK, my mother was Maltese so when I was a kid we spent my entire summer there. So nostalgia is my motivation plus the weather and off course change of location. I would say on the mobility of the island me and my girlfriend used the buses more than taxis I think in one week we used the taxis only 4 times to save on journey time and buses the rest of the time.

Fun and informative video again, Alex! But you're right about a "good" or "decent" life varying for some -- I'd never want to share a room or even a flat with someone I didn't already know/wasn't travelling with. Your audience seems to be someone who's going there solo rather than a couple or a family, and that makes sense. I was there solo but had my own flat, and I found that going for local places for a cappuccino in the morning would cost me 1,50 euros at most while going to a little more glitzy place could cost me 3,50 to 5,50 euros (that was in St. Julian's). I learned about the more local place (a bar/cafe) from my landlord. Same with getting a ftira for lunch, too--big difference in going to Crust than a few blocks away to a place locals going. Maybe consider doing a video on how to cut costs when eating out, such as you said a little about when you told people of those great 2-for-1 happy hour places since even on budgets people want to have a coffee or lunch out occasionally too! First of all - I really enjoy your videos, they are great, big thanks ;) However, the title says about ''decent life' but you speak about SHARING A ROOM, or renting a flat - this is not a decent life. It's student's life at most. What I would expect to hear about the cost of decent life is: Living in a good area in spacious home, having a car, having kids in school and having some hobbies. Please give it a thought, it might be an idea for one of your episodes in the future ;) Keep up the good work, take care!

Share accomodations 150 - 350euro Internet minimum wifi 24 euro per month Transportation bus card 40 euro per month Electricity during winter 40 - 50 euro for two months Water 25 - 40 euro for two months Food is very cheap in Republic of Cyprus Garbage per year 20 euro
