This year my eco journey has had a wobble since moving back into a van. Some of my sustainable changes have not been suitable for my new lifestyle so I have been figuring things out again. Therefor if you guys have any small eco changes we can all get involved in I'd love to know in the comments below!

Having lived in this for some time now, how do you feel about the size? If you could swap it for a high top with all other things the same would you do it? What's vanlife been like during the pandemic?

Hey Russel, I run over these questions in my Van Life Q&A Part 1 and 2 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--utnqxV-F2o.html if you want to know more detail around these questions 😁. But in summary, I love my van, the height means I can get in to all car parks. Would I love to be able to stand, yes, but I also don't want a pop top as I like how it looks like a commercial van. In the summer the van is great as I'm outside most of the time but the size has proven more difficult in the winter. I guess if I had the money and place to convert a L3H2 van I would. But I'm also happy in my van regardless 😁

£2000 in repairs !! Jeez........ i musta got lucky with my Primastar then at £120 for 2 new rear calipers n pads for its MOT (poor handbrake ,seized)....... admittedly i did do it myself

My van build is almost the same cost as yours, but I had tools for home DIY and I included about £300 for labour. I still wonder what I would get if I sold it, been told various prices. I also got a diesel heater fitted last week, mine is a 2kw and is under the drivers seat like yours. Was the £130 a fitting price as you can buy them for £90? Good info for anyone who hasn't converted a van before. My next build I will do the windows and diesel heater fitting myself, saving some cash. :)

Take a look at quirky campers website and you'll see how much yours is worth roughly. Everyones DIY vans are so different it is hard to pinpoint a price. The heater was 120 not including labour, Billy installed it for me so I paid in pizza 😄. I believe you can get them cheaper but they all have diff specs and gadgets etc. I just went with one someone suggested 😊.

Is it a 5kw or 2kw? Don't think the 5kw fits under the seat?

Had to go and look in to this 🤗 it is 2-5 adjustable which got me wondering what it is set at. But can't see anywhere how to adjust it 😕 got my brain ticking now 😆

I'm sure a 2-5kw is a throttled down 5kw heater. Meaning it is a 5kw shell, but a 2kw output. :)

@@irishrover63 Hmmm I need to look in to this more. I like to understand what is in my van and the adjustable makes me think I can pick what setting to have it on. Yet the manual doesn't go over this (That I can see yet) :)

It is registered as 2009 but 08 plate 😆

@@nicroams same year as my transit, I've done a lot of work on it mechanically and bodywork earlier this year. Doing the inside but it's more for racing, secondly for camping, everything has to fold away....not easy haha :-)

@@nicroams naa got a pretty good deal I think. Its a proper motorhome rather than a converted van. I wanted to test the water before building something myself on a grander scale. (I want to build an offroad 6x6 HGV home.) but lots of other bills to pay of first.

10:56 - i noticed you don't have a vent fan installed in your roof? could be the reason why you're having mold issues. (I'm actually ordering a Maxxair fan for my van build).

I did have a fan ordered to install and decided to return it as the last van I had it took some time to get it to not leak and my van has a big dip on the roof where it would go so that would need sorting first. Lots of options I just need to think about what is best 🤓
