Hi Ans, the GT1 i have found wifi issues so if you are going to use wifi seriously dont get it. There are some reporting a few image issues but so far i havent had any other issues. The U1 is faster than the X9S in terms of response and opening closing and browsing aps. It has android 5 but its still one of my favorite machines. The X9S i would suggest if you are going to use the HDMI recorder if not either the Minix U1 or Minix U9-H that has Android 6 RJ 👍👍

Hi Jahsee, thanks for the feedback. I actually thought that i could use both ways and that in this particular case "A" was better than "AN" :) I was wrong :) i just searched and www.englishpage.com/articles/a-vs-an.htm learned something new like i do every single day. Regarding the people not taking me serious because a spelling mistake its true but that would be the last thing to worry. Wow, this is a dificult one to answer really :) For me i prefer a Android TV Box for the ease of use but i do see some advantages in using Windows Mini PC´s to do that job as there are a lot more aps. I would suggest to take a look at what kind of app you feel that will be your favorite in terms of media and then chose the media center based on that. Exmple: I want to use Kodi (Android tv box) I want kodi, Netflix, RU-vid (Android tv box) I want Plex or Emby (Windows Mini PC) and off course the windows mini PC can also do the above. The Android UI in my opinion is a bit more friendly than windows for multimedia playback You will need to do some work in terms of personal preferences and than if you still need my help let me know and ill try my best RJ 👍

Hey Jason, 1GB of ram doesn not help any box but truth is that most of the time is actually the aps that are not optimized for all boxes even sometimes with 2GB or even 3GB. I dont use that app so i could not give more details but can happen with other more powerful boxes on the same app

2GB will be fine for Nougat. If you multi task a lot on the phone you might feel it, otherwise you will be fine :)

Hi Steve, at this moment with the ability to expand storage on Android 6.0 and above i dont see the need to go beyond 16GB. If you will install a lot of aps humm i understand 32GB but more than that nahh!!! 👍👍

Me neither, but for some people sometimes a difference between 25€ and 50€ is a lot and i do understand that. So with 25€ 1GB ram 8GB of storage and a limited usability. Its not the desired but some situations will lead to that Thanks for the input (I do agree with you 👍👍)

Thanks Juanra, we dont notice DDR3 vs DDR4 performance on our daily tasks so basicly at this moment for these devices that is pure "marketing" . I should add that while its marketing in terms of performance some socs as you know (System on a Chip) are built to take DDR4 nowadays so there is no choice. None the less if at this moment you prefer a machine that has DDR3 instead of DDR4 just go for it cause no real difference 👍

I prefer Android for streaming so for me yes definitely. The Z83-4 is a great machine for work which can be used as a multimedia center as well. If you want a Plex Server and Player for example the Z83-4 will be the choice :) Depends on how we will use and its not easy to chose :)

Roberto Jorge one more question. Which is a better Android box company, Minix or Beelink?

The Minix U9-H is superior its a premium box. The Gt1 is a budget box. Both are nice but with a different experience.

Hi David, nice to see you here :) Although i dont recomend less than 2GB i have had machines with 1GB of ram that playing my own library located on my NAS trough Kodi i have no buffering at all (only 1 app running Kodi) RJ 👍

i doubt that .. i have a 1gb ram tv box and have 5mbps connection and it works just fine .. watching HD and SD vidoes and streams although the former i have to be alone streaming otherwise its fully functional, but for multitasking Roberto is correct here .. it wunt work well while multitasking.

If you're Polish and want to use a t.v. box as a desktop pc then yeah go for 2gb ram, if you're using it just for movie streaming, you can easily run 4k video streams, and multiple backround apps like VPNs or whatever with total ease, a sky q box that's the latest sattelite tv box, does that plus records multiple events with around 600mb ram so 1gb is more than enough for an android TV box to be used as it's supposed to be.

What if you only stream videos in 720p?

Hi Carlos, i would not go above 32GB because with Android 6.0 and above we can just insert a micro sd card and expand to install more aps. If you are looking for a premium box check out the Nvidia Shield / Minix U9-H or if on a budget the Beelink GT1 / Ultimate its not bad at all RJ 👍

Totally true my friend!! Firmware!! Firmware !! Fast Storage Etc all make a efficient or not Box. When people sometimes hey Robert the Minix U1 or U9-H is a lot more expensive than any other budget box with the same specs my anser is that the specs seem similar but they are not. Minix for example uses the fastest storage after the Shield, fast wifi and ethernet chip, good firmware implementation with support and that has a price. This topic that i raised on ram is in general off course but there are machines that even with 4GB would be a terrible experience Thanks for the input RJ 👍

Já que percebi que fala PT, então vou comentar em PT. Fiiquei super decepcionado ao ter comprado por 35euros a X96. Na página de venda tudo parecia bonito: 2GB RAM DDR3, CPU 64Bit QuadCore S905x (que não sabia que era bosta), android 6.0… Enfim, chegou a hora de experimentar e o próprio RU-vid dá crash, Kodi é muito lento, etc

Oi Sim PT tens aqui o canal Português se quiseres espreitar ru-vid.com/show-UCKla8sNVBGbS9RdEIZmA1DQ :) Em relação a maquinas mais baratas os problemas podem ser vários no entanto o mais comum é firmware mal implementado e chips e armazenamento lento. Atenção que Amlogic S905 / S912 é dos melhores que está no mercado. Tens maquinas como a Minix U1 e Minix U9-H que têm esses Socs e são autenticos canhões. Eu continuo a testar as maquinas mais baratas porque muitas fazem um bom serviço para o preço, mas é sempre um risco e sinceramente não aconselho a comprar nenhuma que não tenha sido testada. Os problemas que estás a referir são problemas que estão associados a firmwares "manhosos" e mal desenhados e claro essas marcas conseguem vender a esses preços porque não há pós venda nem serviço nenhum e para alem disso usa os componentes mais baratos que se consegue encontrar Existem máquinas baratas como a Beelink GT1 e GT1 Ultimate por exemplo que têm alguns problemas como Wifi etc mas que valem o preço que ronda os 60-70 € Essa X96 não cheguei a usar mas pelo que referes não vale nada. A mais barata que eu usei até hoje foi a X95 da Nexbox e pesquisa e vais ver a minha review e criticas. Por 25 Euros vale a pena?? Humm Depende do que se quer. Conheço pessoas que adoram essa box e eu não aconselho a não ser que seja para Kodi apenas e utilização muito simples :) Experimenta a reinstalar o RU-vid e Kodi também para ver se melhora Abraço RJ

Humm Que eu saiba não dá. Mesmp tendo os mesmos componentes o firmware é deiferente e possivelmente vais dar cabo da máquina a tentar. Foi mesmo uma compra mázinha. Tenta vender esse a um preço barato a alguem que não dê grande uso á máquina e compra uma coisa melhorzinha para ti 👍

Yep, totally 👍 i have used machines with 4 Gb of ram that performed the same and sometimes worse than 2gb devices. But the worse part is because of poor firmware and not the ram 👍😉

I always run the same apps on any of my Android boxes and I can tell you, there is a performance difference between 2gb and 3 gb of ram. Mostly noticeable when running Kodi. Kodi responds faster and loads pages faster with 3gb of ram than 2 gb of ram. The cpu and vid chips matter a lot more than people think. You can be running a box with a rockchip cpu with 3/4gb of ram and it still not outperform a box running a amlogic cpu with 2gb of ram. Or even both boxes having the amlogic chip but one being the S905 and the other being the S912. So, ultimately, the better boxes with be running the better cpu with better vid and ram.

@@bobbyturbopants even with my box having an amlogic chip 2GB isn't enough. I have the highest internet package and this box is laggy and almost unusable. To be honest its garbage. Might have to move back to an HTPC or get the new nvidia shield.

@@theramblingranter5797 I have a few amlogic boxes with only 2gb ram and have no problems, only get problems when not using real debrid. And that's just link speed, I don't notice lag in asking it to do things. I like the shield but not that Android TV OS it comes with.Now that's a pain, no internet browser so download stupid puffin browser no thanks
