I appreciate your honesty about earning $100+ on RU-vid in a month and admitting that it made you happy, even if some people say it's not much. That honesty really stood out to me. I'm planning to start a RU-vid channel focused on coding tutorials. I even bought an $80 mic and started writing a script, but I haven't gotten around to recording it yet. My goal is to explain in-depth, especially the hard stuff, unlike other tutorials that gloss over difficult concepts and spend too much time on the easy ones.

Seeing small channels develop progress is what inspires me. I just made my gaming channel last week. I subbed! Thanks for the stats!

Thanks for being so transparent! I'm getting close to monetization, so I love seeing these kind of videos! I'm thinking I might hit the 4000 watch hours sometime in the next few months😊

We really need to rename the video "How Much RU-vid Paid Me if I Started then Stopped, then Started then Stopped." Hard to relate to the data if this was all done in chunks.😎

Dylan thank you for these excellent videos. I wanted to ask if you gained any of your programming knowledge from books. If so, could you do a video on what books you would recommend. Thanks

Thanks for watching! A few books I'd recommend: Head First JavaScript Programming Cracking the Coding Interview (if you wanna go big tech)

Nice work, good stuff. Interesting. I appreciate your straight up approach here. Being self employed in a 1% income earner industry, keeping the BS to a minimum is essential. Is that your music [guitar playing] in the background? sounds good whoever it is. A question if I may: I watched your other video on the reality of self learning web development etc., coll, but my takeawy for a guy that's spent 39+ years in one old school industry whos body is always sore from it, and very much needing a new direcrtion, how does one lknow if tech of any kind is going to be their jam? particularly if the initial feeling is, heck no. Has no real appeal....save for the huge respect for those that do it and make our modern world go round, of course. Idk. This old cat seriously needs to get a real money job! lol.

Hey there. I'd suggest trying out coding on a website like freecodecamp.org to see if you like it. Good luck!

@HundredBytes I think it depends on what type of channel - Will you be doing coding tutorials? Talking about your experience? I'd strongly suggest (1) speak on your passions (2) stick to a consistent upload schedule (1x week should be fine). Good luck!
