I actually told her once , she does not even know what loveing someone really means, when I was so frustrated with her empty words with no actual compassion, Ofcourse she had nothing to say to that

Some of the favorite sayings from the narcissist: 1."I am with the wrong person" 2. "You are being extra sensitive." 3 "I did not mean what I said in anger." PS: that is the one of the favorite line of enablers as well. 4. You always try to control me. 5. Why you always lead me to that point where I lose my temper and misbehave? 6. No one will ever love you the way I do.. ..... N that's so true ;)

I asked my ex what attracted him to me when we first met. His response was literally, "I liked you because you liked me." Ask a narcissist this question. You may be surprised by what they respond.

Same… I got, “I like you because you’re so nice to me. No one else is as nice to me as you.” I was also “an evil bitch” for not accepting [read: trying to understand why] him and his mom wanted him to have “7 days” (turned into 5 months) to stonewall me.

One of my ex narcs literally told me "you looked so depressed". How attractive, depression. So predatory. Luckily I've realized that whole dynamic and that yeah, they are attracted to vulnerable people...because they're predators.

As a highly sensitive person I personally disagree with children not being able to love to the extent an adult can. It seems that in our society we have the idea that only adults can experience true emotion but children can't. Children do have emotions as well, and some even felt those emotions to a greater degree as children. I have a narcissist parent in my life. As a child, I knew what love was. Not because of her obviously, but I had a lot of self love and love for friends and my dad (who unfortunately was a victim of my "mother's" abuse) and what i thought was interesting was as a child, I could see through her mask. Once they got divorced and i was forced to move in with her, that's when I lost the ability to clearly see her true nature.

I'm in a domestic violence shelter and when I arrived there was a mother and her 6 year old daughter here. She is a fentynal addict and tbh not a good mother and when I arrived, the little girl asked if I could make her "hot food", her mother wasn't taking care of her at all. So I made sloppy joes for dinner for my son and I and I made her a plate...when she sat down at the table, the first thing she said was "can mommy have some?" And my heart freaking broke. Her first thought was not about how hungry she was which I knew she was, it was her mother...if that isn't love, I don't know what is. Children are capable of true love, I totally agree with you.

My narcissist could never ever say he loved me, I waited for years. After 25 years of marriage and asking him again why he couldn’t say those words to me, he told me that saying “I love you“ during sex was “trite“. However over the years he would randomly say “you don’t love me”.

He lashed out at me because if he behaved badly, I told him, if he was disrespectful, I told him so, if he was thoughtless I told him and so on, it goes on, he only got good feed back if he deserved so he didn’t get much.

I was in a very confusing relationship and, with hindsight, likely to have been narcissistic. When he suddenly ended the relationship, I said to him "But you said I was all you ever wanted and that you loved me". He just shrugged his shoulders and said to me "Oh, that's just what people say isn't it". Although I was devastated, I can remember my whole body shuddering with what felt like relief - that confused me too. It was a roller coaster of a relationship and I was turned upside down. I think my body knew what my head and heart didn't. Looking back it was horrible.

You have completely nailed the dedicated narc. 👍 Sry you've been there, but what a magnificent use of experience. Not just traits but total malignancy. I'm giddy hearing this cause I know once you believe this 1000% you have broken over to the light, the warmth, the lack of cognitive dissonance that will prevent a reocccurance. I have an idea for a video, which might be somewhat related to this video: what the narcissistic fantasy of ideal love is about, what it looks like, etc. The two narcissists I've encountered were each on an obsessive hunt for their ideal partner, of which I was eventually just one of a long string of discarded candidates (even after one of them considering me his "twin flame", and all the obligation that went along with that). I am not finding any in-depth explorations of this aspect of narcissism anywhere online, and I'd be totally interested in your take.

This narc was saying I love you 6 weeks in 😵‍💫 and what really got me mad , he kept in trying to coax me into saying I love you back .. no way . But I think that is their Eject button . I asked him if he really meant it saying I love you ? His reply was the most honest narc answer … he said : you wouldn’t believe it ! He’s right I didn’t .
