@@Entinu94 I live in America but I also go to some. Tourrmonts that use ocg banned list (usally on online. Using dueling book, nexus or etc) and I play in master duel.
That’s if the effects are even allowed to be used in the first place like what am I doing wrong? It’s a trap card why can’t it actually be played when my opponent does something?
@@HunterAnsorge-ok9jk so on the settings you have to change your ability to respond to switch and set it to default to on at the beginning of a turn to get the prompts to activate at anytime. Still though I have times where it doesn't let me use something for basically no reason because it doesn't tell me why I can't activate a set trap or quick play spell/effect.
@@HunterAnsorge-ok9jk lmaooo me waiting 6 turns to use super poly when all the monsters i need have been on the field for the past 6 turns and idk why i cant activate it.
@@Cobbthey could have a card that specifically says “your opponent cannot activate cards or effects in response to this effect” I can think of a few times where cards like that works and I even run a monster that explicitly says “neither player can activate monster effects” because there are so many either gy effects or quickies that are annoying so I just summon that monster when I see a deck like that and that stops most things. Even if your toggle is on if a card explicitly says “no one can respond to this” you kinda have to let it go.
I didn’t start playing until 2021 so newer style is all I know 😅 That being said tho, the first deck I learned was a Toon Deck, granted it has all the newer support for it tho. Just learned Exosisters tho and been running that, with plans to learn Madolche, Suship, or Live⭐️Twin next. I just pick archetypes I think are cool concepts or have cool art lol
Man this was my old 30 year ass trying to get back into yugioh like last year lmao. I used to have a killer dragon deck but I checked out after GX on Cartoon Network. Tried to come back recently i got so lost I said fuck it lmao. The days of Exodia and the God cards are LONG gone lol
they could stopped before Synchro and stickedd with fusion and ritual summon. Nowadays who uses fusion or ritual are only crazy ppl. Yugioh is really dead, u can use ur whole deck in turn 1, massive wtf tcg.
This happened to Me a few years ago. Found out the lgs was going to do a yugioh tournament so I dusted off my old ancient gear/cyber dragon deck. And he was I'm going to pendulum summon. Uhhhh what now
spirit decks were sooo cool and also so fk anoying. But once u learned how to play against it was kinda easy to beat, to be honest. I remember when I took the first yatagarasu (it was in japanese) that my friend had and took me some time to realize I lost the game, lol, I also, aftewards became mad cause it was in japanese and I though he was lying (cause the effect was so crazy). Turns out it was true lol, I dont remember how he knew the effect since it was fresh when it first came out (and someone brought from japan from him). @@TheLeoGonX
@@YURTZYN42That's the thing: If you're playing fun modern decks? The game's absolutely still a blast. If you're playing meta T0 decks? It's an absolutely shitshow
It's so intimidating to get back into this game. I played ALOT at locals when I was young but now its just ridiculous, I AM SO LOST. I just want to play fun decks and strats not the 10 min turn meta. Also I feel soooo judged at every shop I go to and it feels so cliquey. I also skate and have for many years and many people have the same complaints about skateparks and skate crews. I now know how that feels.
@kyleanderson449 because Cyber Dragon doesn't completely shut down there opponent......I mean you need to build a strategy manage resources.....why bother when u got Kasthira...
you know what's funny... actually had a "returning" / "new" player come to locals Monday and played the exact same mannadium deck combo. He came back after playing masterduel too.
As someone who got into tcg after playing both Duel Links and Master Duel, it's always fun to see people be surprised about you actually knowing what's up even when it's your first time
I now paymaster duel more then actual cards. I still collect certain ones but to be honest I prefer in person because you have that interaction and I've been playing for nearly 10 years.
Man I miss old yugioh, elemental heroes were the jam when i was young, won a local tournament with a basic elemental deck when i was like 11, good times
If you think it’s that easy to break me after mirror force your foolish we have counters for you counters 😂 or trying to get dark magician out will be the pain
Coming from MTG, haven't seen a single Yugioh video that makes me want to play. Seems like it's entirely who can play solitaire faster these days. They should have a classic Yugioh format
There aren't official formats, however fans have come together and made their own formats. If you want an old school one, GOAT format is a popular format that uses old cards, and as such is slower. Check it out!
@@1m2a3t4t5I’d say try it out dude! If you really want to try something out you shouldn’t let other people try to tell you why it sucks. You might really like it :)
@@1m2a3t4t5 i suggest edo pro and grabbing some friends. It's free and you can screw around with making wacky decks. It's not ranked for all I know, so you can get a bunch of beers, some cheap laptops, and pretty much go wild. You can even switch up the banlists if you wanna play certain formats.
Maxx "C" really needs an eratta with a "If you control no cards" clause. This is one of the reasons it's banned in the TCG, your opponent can establish an entire board, then drop Maxx "C" on you just to make sure you lose. A lot of handtraps are also guilty of this, but none of them can draw your entire deck for you.
@@Honest_Mids_Masher Nobody said that Maxx "C" isn't ridiculous. The whole point of my comment was to explain why Maxx "C" is ridiculous and why it needs an eratta before it can ever come back to the TCG and what that eratta could possibly be. Disagreeing with me basically means that you think Maxx "C" doesn't need to have its effect changed and would be fine if it came back to the TCG. If that's the case, then I 100% disagree with you.
😂. It can't be worse than the poor child in his first tournament during format 2018 against Jeff Jones. Poor fella went with a budget random deck with ufo turtle, and Jones had Danger Darkworld triple firewall FTK 😂😂😂
Proceeds to turn one summon Number 107 Galaxy Eyes Tachyon Dragon and Neo galaxy eyes photon dragon Set Tachyon Field wipe Has tachyon transmigration in hand (Having tachyon dragon on field makes the trap a hand trap)
Ironically they won't be as busted when they get on Master Duel because of the Bishbalkin ban stopping Crimson Dragon/King Calamity combo from being so easy.
@@francisharkins Don't worry, in agov there's new veda support, lit skip's turn to endphase banishing 12 gy cards when opponent special summon of extra deck, so the ban will only stop them till they release that card
@@Honest_Mids_Masher well, super poly, dark ruler book of moon etc get rid of it easily, since It only procs when opp special summon, if they find a way to just destroy or return and u have no negates or only 1 then it's not that broken, till some random asian finds a ftk+8 negates on board or smthing like that i don't think It Will be broken
Lol I remembered playing with actual cards with my dad but now for the most part I play master duel but I would love to play with cards again. YuGiOh is awesome
they should stayed with the fusion system and adapt (like they did with kaiba megazord xyz), they add too much into the turner monsters and should made more rules about. A simple syncro was stronger than any fusion or ritual summon, they just fucked their entire game over 1 type of card and special summon (that were som that u did 1-3 times in a turn mostly became easy to made and u could just spamm monsters in 1 turn and win the game, the game that was already the fastest of TCG cause there were too much OP cards became the longest 1turn TCG ever, not to mention that all cards have bible texts).@@MrGBH
Seeing link summons and pendulum in action after being gone a few years is like watching a pro boxer go against an MMA fighter. First few duels flew by in just 5 turns, and I'm like "Wth just happened here??"
"I won the coin toss, so I'll go first. First, I special summon Go Puck Yourself from my hand, in defense position, then I'll special summon Go Puck Yourself #2 from my hand, using its effect to search Go Puck Yourself #3 from my deck. Next, I'll synchro summon Go Puck Yourself: The Remix and activate its effect to special summon Go Puck Yourself #3 from my hand, by detaching Go Puck Yourself. Then I'll use the graveyard effect of Go Puck Yourself to special summon itself in attack position. After that I'll link summon into Go Puck Yourself: The Sequel. It's effect activates, letting me special summon Go Puck Yourself #4 from the deck and bring back the link materials. Lastly, I'll fusion summon into Go Puck Yourself: The Trilogy and use its effect to add the quickplay spell card, Go Puck Yourself: The Ultimate from my deck to my hand. Then I'll set a card and end. On your standby phase, I'll activate Go Puck Yourself: The Ultimate, and banish your entire hand, field, graveyard, and deck, face down, and slap you in the face with a Maxx C. GG's, duelist
I don’t play master duel, so it’s just me, my two brothers, and my best friend playing each other constantly, and building new decks, scrapping other ones, and repeating. We’re not that good, but we still love it!
While is true that it looks scary, nowadays you can play a lot of cards that allows to interrupt combos during the opponent's turn, so when you start your turn you can have better chances to have a good field and defeating the opponent.
This is too relatable.. honestly I stopped playing card games because one day me and my friends were arguing for over an hour over the ruling of what should have been a simple play but became overly complex due to stack rules. It got to a point I just went "you know what.. I think I'm done"
Master Duel players dont lose to time, they grab their search targets instantly and can read without picking up the cards They're just a different breed
Newbie: Hi! This is my first ever time I've played Yugioh Veteran: Oh this is gonna be eas- Newbie: IRL. . . this is the first time I've played this game IRL. I'm Diamond Rank on Duel Masters. Veteran: FFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUU-
I'm an old school yugioh player who recently decided to get back into the hobby so I started playing master duel. This is literally what my experience was playing ranked.😅
"activate maxx c" "Yeah that's where the master duel part is" It's kinda confusing how maxx c is only known for ruining master and no one talks about how is it doing in the OCG.
We're not that well versed in the OCG in general considering most of us don't play it. We do know that top competitors did want to play in the TCG because of there being no Maxx C.
@@Smiley957original card game, if I recall correctly. It has a completely different banlist due to a completely different meta structure. You may find the same archetypes, of course, but they are built differently. But I may be wrong
@@Honest_Mids_Masherdunno, but I think that Maxx C is not the actual problem, neither in TCG/OCG... the actual problem is the actual player and how expensive the game is: sometime people don't have the necessary amount of money to build competitive decks or, maybe, they don't want to spend a leg or an arm just for a bunch of rectangular painted pieces of paper that, at the end of the day, collect dust on a shelf. Personally speaking, I always ask to my opponents if they have the necessary general staples to play and I act accordingly, maybe removing certain cards or completely changing my deck, allowing proxies and yadda yadda yadda... I love playing the game, sure, but only when I'm respecting my opponent and his wallet. On top of that, hand traps can be completely shutted down with the correct cards, like Mind Drain, Prohibition, Called by the Grave, XX-clusion, Gravedigger's Trap Hole, ... don't know why everyone is upset about Maxx C given how many solutions the game provides
HONESTLY max c would be a cool and based card if it said you couldn't use it if you had cards on field (or something similar). Making it ACTUALLY a going second tool like it's defenders say, and not just a win more going first button.
It still skipping entire turns in it's own when it resolves is ridiculous however and a single handtrap should not be putting someone in a lose-lose situation.
my first duel in ages I brought my black rose dragon deck, and got STOMPED by a new deck. made me be like "yeah i'll just watch from the sidelines, the game is much too fast for me now"
Maxx C isn’t the problem. The main problem are cards special summon from GY or even Banished. Kashtira for example SS from GY or removed. That’s one single card monster reborn every turn.
it's actually more like " Uh... Oh sht sorry man, I have no idea how to play irl without an app telling me which effects I can/can't use... Can we play in master duel?"
Opponent: response? Me: as a matter of fact I do. Activates Dark Ruler no More. Activates dimension Fissure Activates Necrovalley activates Dark Hole banishing all your monsters. Actives Double summon normal summons then tribute summons for Vanity's Fiend passes turn.😂 No special summon for you and every monster you send away gets banished in addition you cannot interact with your graveyard.
thats sounds like me break meta gravekeeper deck XDD, im back to play tcg just like a month ago and was like idk what u care made i just undust my old deck buy some cheap cards and ready to go XDD
No matter how many times i play yugioh & no matter how long i play it, i always find myself watching these videos & saying "what the heyll is that card? 💀"
The reality would be that they would forget which HOPTs they have activated and skip parts of their combo because they forgot an effect somewhere, so they end up with 1 disruption after staring at their board for 5 minutes.
This brings me back to 5ds era when at a locals a dad scolded at his son for playing otk as the tourney was for fun and not that type of play. Now with power creep making almost every deck "Turn 0", or so obnoxiously complicated on how each card has 100 individual functions you need a magnifying glass and a PhD to understand that even local play now is as rough to play with any off-meta deck
This is actually me 😂 i go to locals like once or twice a year to duel. Then once or twice just to trade. 1 or 2 remember me by the deck 😂 which is an honor
The fact i would look at someone who does this at my table and look at the ref i call over and ask for the deck list because he used a ban card. Bruh i could hear the very essence of a duel master player saying "Ban list? Deck list? what are those?"
Yeah, never underestimate new players at locals. There's a good chance that they will somehow know what they are doing and be on an actual deck. Imagine getting paired with the new kid and they end up being on Dragon Link or something. I should know, I am that kid.
@@ValoreJay We could literally summon an Extra Deck lock off of Spheres if we wanted to. However annoying you think the deck is, it probably could be even worse.
When I play Master Duel. In turn 1 my enemy has like 6 monster with multiple negate effects and destroy effects on the field. 10 cards in the grave. 2-3 Backrows and still has 5 hards in his hands. In his first turn like what??
it's like an old head seeing a little kid on a skateboard where the modern techniques of self education of things you're passionate about, its like the reveal of Goten and Trunks are both super saiyan they reveal to the legal guardian and training partner and disclose the other one is also super saiyan Vegeta and Gohan both had bad jokes about it but they both felt the pride of saiyans and comfort in the next generation's potential.
Just got back into YuGiOh recently and all I have is old school decks, and I don't have many friends who I duel with but I'm terrified to duel strangers knowing these duels are so different now 🤣💀
I used to play before muradding captain released. It was fun then. But then every set had creatures either summoning friends or moving them to spell zone and I was just done. It went from one of the most fun card games I've ever played to a waiting game to see who drops their deck on the field. It's like everyone is a hydra deck with infinite tap loop in mtg
Fun fact: I won the very first local tournament I've ever been in about a year ago. Was playing XYZ sharks, for reference. Just got really lucky with seeding I think.
