Yeah, could it perhaps extend beyond the idea of 'being delegated' a task that can make normal people do awful things? It makes me think of how indecisive and lost people(especially teenagers) delegate their own moral growth / personal development to a 'idol' like a leading political figure or celebrity without actively questioning the correctness of these values in their search to fit in under some banner. Just as you mentioned, they make the choice of not making a choice and adopt terrible values - such as racism, misogony, etc...
Yes, existential bad faith most likely plays a role in people joining harmful ideologies and groupthink, although I don't think it's the only factor. For instance, wanting to belong to a group is a pretty natural human drive that probably also strongly contributes to it. My goal isn't to chastise people, but being aware of these tendencies helps mitigate them, as I mentioned in the video. However small my reach is, I'd be happy if I could help promote a bit more critical thinking in the world. I touched on similar topics in my video on thought leadership. With that being said, sometimes deferring to someone with a higher expertise than us is the right call.
