I can't believe you drove this death trap , some owners are dreamers when it comes to the machine gun and cars in general . This is alot of work Bob, I hope he pays you well .This car is going to worth alot more once your guys have finished with it. Thanks for the update great work 👍.
I love that you inform the public why you should only display the Batmobile. It's a BIG ASS DIECAST real-life version and should be kept in a showroom and/or use it in a "parade" (like you said). Can't wait to watch your project (Corvette) build.
Bob a excellent video,I totally agree the C4 would be the perfect platform to build off of for the batmobile, you got it figured & it makes sense leaving the dash electronics ect and utilizing the flip up headlights. That prop batmobile Sure seemed real Janky Bob I like your brutally honest run down on it as its definitely not a daily driver. Get some gloves on OSHA mite be watching lol. Appreciate the video. Cheers!
If I had that kind of cash, I'd redo it almost from scratch. The main thing you need is the body shell and then work to make it the best it can be. To me it's screaming for some attention to detail. It's a shame so many corner were cut but then again we don't know how much they were willing to spend to have a Batmobile really worth its name.
Hey Bob Casey Putsch built a keaton batmobile from a c4 corvette, he went over the top and put a real turbine engine in it. But he is on youtube, i know you were asking for help on a corvette conversion.
Those body mounts are simple Bob! I’m with the owner, do not rivet or bolt thru the fender walls! Fabricate a square piece of steel and weld 2 mounting studs on it. Figure out where it needs to be mounted and epoxy them on like your doing but once that sets, you need to lay fiberglass cloth over that steel base an imbed it’s into a minimum of 5-6 layers of fiberglass cloth and fiberglass matt. Completely imbed the steel and build up a relatively large area inside the fender well so it spreads out the load on the fender. It’s really not a hard fix. It should have had something like that when it came out of the mold. Your idea for the C4 Batmobile is a much better idea
I live in Brazil and here is almost impossible to find a Delorean at a reasonable price to make a Time Machine replica. So I decided to make a Prop instead of a replica, using a car with similar dimensions and make a stainless steel and fiberglass body for it. Then I can fill it with Time Machine pieces as accurate as possible. I'll have double the work. Never gave up your dreams!
It was only ever just a "prop on wheels" but boy is it cool looking....and always will be! 1989 Micheal Keaton Batman is cool as f**k, forever. Amen 😎🤘😎
The air gap under the canopy is easy to fix. You just need to install a rubber gasket for the canopy to close against. You should be able to modify a rear hatch or hood trim gasket to work. You may need to fabricate a rail to mount the gasket on. Why in the hell didn't they put this body on a real stretched automobile chassis? What shoddy workmanship! The prop maker for the '60's TV Batman series used Cadillac chassis if my memory is correct --- and that wasn't exactly a high budget production. You'd think whoever made this thing could have done better.
You want to drive a Batmobile? Get a 1966 TV show repro. I have seen a few of them on the road over the years and other than in the rain, easier to drive.
I luv the 89 keaton mobile, but i fully understand what you mean. I have build 1 remote controlled BTTF delorean and currently working on the 6th KITT replica (which will be the 3rd remote controlled KITT i have build) There are alot of DIY guys that really dont know.....or DON'T CARE!...about safety features....how the body or dash panels are holding on. They don't give a shit on how it drives. They just want the looks. I am restoring my 6th KITT now, and it was exactly the same thing....gravity was holding the parts in place. I took out maby 7 screws, for the ENTIRE INTERIOR! If a nice looking car drives like crap....you will not be happy! Period. Many TV and movie cars......drive like shit.
Videobob , the truth is a lot of people are lonely , they need something to show off to the world , so they don’t feel lonely anymore… it’s a crazy world we live in … lol
Batmobile looks cool but that one would never pass a SVA test in the UK that all kit cars or custom built cars have to pass before been allowed on the public roads its a very strict test they go over everything
Well one way to solve the wheel issue is to straighten out those areas make them so they won't touch just like an automobile. That was one guy exaction made a decent one he's got a turbine engine in it and propane-fired machine guns
Building a street legal 89 batmobile isn't that hard. I can do it with collapsible steering and the works. I'd use turbo exhaust on the outside running into the flame thrower(it be exhaust tip)
Batmobile car extremely amazing ever I really think it's the best car in the movie batman and I really am a huge fan of The Batman car is really amazing I really like it alot very cool ever nice bro I really enjoyed your video is extremely terrfic
Sorry dude but I am going to build my batmobile from scratch and follow the blueprints the only thing I'm am taking out is the machine guns and using sleeping gas to help law enforcement or just use for fan films
There's a guy in Ohio that made bttf delorians,66 and 89 batmobiles and speed racer mach 5s and would use c4 corvettes as a base for the 89 batmobiles and mach 5s!
the car was on a screne for 10 seconds...all they needed was it to run for a few seconds thus the horrid wiring jop.....this never ever made to go down the road more than 100 feet......so the car is perfect for what it was built for.
