In this video, I am trying and failing again to demagnetize my watch, hope you learn from my mistakes as I sure learned from mine. I also sent back that magnetizer, and I will purchase a better one in the near future. If you have any suggestions please leave them in the comments below.
Thank you for watching. If you have any questions or comments, be sure to leave your comments down below. Please don't forget to like and subscribe to my YT Channel and Instagram as well :)

You need to do it in all six positions!! Press once and remove quickly. I have the same demagnetiser as you.

I was going to suggest that you keep it on the demagnetizer for 2 seconds before pulling it up, but you kind of did that in the 2nd attempt. I never demagnetized my watch but I’ve seen people do that and repeat it a couple of times, each time leaving it on the demag for 2 seconds before pulling. Either way this makes me glad I never attempted it 😂 Thank you for sharing!

hehe Thanks Omar, I definitely learned that I need a better device, and I will take the watch to my watchmaker next time I get one of my watches serviced 😁

You really need to get a compass! Pass your watch over a compass, and if the needle moves it is magnetised, if the needle doesn’t move it is not magnetised. Tiny, tiny movements on the compass does not mean a watch is magnetised. I believe that you can also magnetise a demagnetised watch using the blue box, which is why it is always best to use a compass alongside the blue box. I would always have and use a compass with any demagnetiser. I hope this helps you in the future.

I will definitely get a compas from ebay, thank you very much for the tip.

I purchased a demagnetizer very similar to yours.I have seen a few videos on the subject since you made your video and I have come to the conclusion that if you do not touch the device you will not magnetize The items that you were trying to demagnetize.Also as I understand it if you move your watch in different directions you will scramble the magnetic force in different directions as you pull it away slowly.As I understand it just confuses the whole magnetic field that’s making your watch nonmagnetic I have use this with some success but I don’t have a proper timegrapher only an app on my phone. I’m also curious to know if you have come up with new ways of using this device and if you have had success please let me know.

Thanks for watching and commenting, I ended up taking it to my watchmaker for a service. I think investing more in a better one and learning more before doing it are my two tips for the next time 😁

When checking a watch for accuracy the lift angle on the timegrapher should be set to match the watch that is being tested, because they are not all the same.The lift angle on the SARB017 Alpinist is 53 and not 52 like yours is set on the timegrapher. Also when demagnetizing a watch it should rest on the demagnetizer for ten seconds while pushing in the button and then slowly lifted off while keeping the button depressed. These tools will only work correctly if they are used correctly. I hope that helps.

Who says the demagnitizer is the cure to all your watches problems ?!? You didn't even measure the magnitation before and after - says it all...

I dont think your suppose to touch the watch to the machine. That will magnetize the watch. Hard to tell. It looked like the first time you touched it to the machine.

@@AbdulRWatches I know it's sketchy, I ordered one of the oval style machines but I'm hesitant to try it. It seems like a lot of people have success. I guess you've gotta just go for it and learn as you go.

I can't see this in your video but when i press button on my similar demagnetiser it starts buzzing a bit. This way you know so it actually does something.

Yes, it did start buzzing and I felt that the watch is being pulled down to the device.

Hi, Abdul. I recently purchased this same demagnetizing unit and really messed up my watches. They are running wildly inaccurate now. What did you/your watch maker do to fix the watches? Thanks for posting.
@AbdulRWatches
@AbdulRWatches Год назад
Hi GG, oh that's really unfortunate. I had to take the watch to my watchmaker here and he had to demagnatise it, it worked pretty well afterwards.

@SianaGearz
@SianaGearz 10 месяцев назад

I couldn't get my demagnetize to work until I watched a guy using a plate demagnetize. He turned it on and started from one side and dragged it all the way across. I did that and it completely demagnetized it. I have the same unit and I was doing it the way you did.

If I do it multiple times, will it have any effect on my watch?
@AbdulRWatches
@AbdulRWatches 4 месяца назад
I think so, then idea is to get it from the first time with enough time on the device. But it could demagnetise it and magnetise it again if used multiple times.
@johncunningham5435

Most unfortunate: Yes! that particular demagnetizer is a very low end device and not worth the money. The higher priced units are more effective at removing any magnetic fields. I have cheap battery operated unit that is somewhat effective, but not as effective as the professional models that can be quite expensive. Judging by the operation of your current unit suggest a fault or is not properly shielded.
@AbdulRWatches
@AbdulRWatches 2 года назад
I returned it as it was really not worth the money, I will invest in better equippment and maybe try over the end of the year vacation to experiment with it. Thanks John for watching and commenting, have a great weekend!
@SianaGearz
@SianaGearz 10 месяцев назад
Nah it cannot be faulty because it's so simple there's nothing to build wrong and there's no shielding foreseen in principle, nor needed. It's just not great. A PTC series resistor would potentially make it better, not calculated which one it should want and haven't tried.
