I'm running a 3.3 ratio on a predator 212 not alot of torque but when you moving it goes quick I've hit 67 on my speedometer app, but the gear ratio calculator says I should be pushing 72 I have a 10t clutch and a 36t rear
@elijahcrawford9790 I wrecked it last year, just needs front forks,broke l1-l2-l3 in my spine had to have a spinal fusion, I still Have the bike, gonna rebuild , it's a 212 that I Ported the intake and Exhaust a bunch when I was younger it has Straight pipe, 18lb springs, Stock carb, Thumb throttle 👍🫡

@@Popcorx it's a term I've seen thrown around by other mini bike guys, 196/212/224 being the small blocks and the 305/420cc being the big block in relative terms when talking about mini bikes
@@Omega50022 I've seen it thrown around but never quite understood I thought there was something about it making it a big block but I understand it is bigger than the smaller engines
Well it depends on what your looking for out of what your driving on. Torque curve on your motor will go down. Boost your compression with larger piston and open up the carb. If your dealing with a one gear set up the only way to get more speed is to put more teeth on the clutch or less teeth on the rear wheel. Torque curve is a problem with a one gear set up, do you really want your motor to constantly be in the higher RPM range?????? I suppose if you don't mind rebuilding them or making them loose and just getting a new motor every year and a half two years. The life span on these newer motors sucks.
It puts more stress on the motor running a bigger tooth off the crankshaft go with your original five to one gearing and go with 20 inch tires it'll pull great and probably hit 65
Why is everyone using these newer motors any way? A 1968-1974 Briggs five horse will do what ever you want it too. And if you put half of what you guy's are investing into these 212 motors hell I bet the older motors would clean house... Why don't you do that once!!! Make some comparison's with that. I would really enjoy to see the out come. I'm a firm believer in those old school aluminum blocks with steel sleeved cylinder.
We raced the Briggs 5 horse back in the 1980's. We ran Horstman billet parts, Tillotson double pumper carbs on Methanol. I have some picture of the karts in the community tab on the channel.
I'm 200 pounds I have a non hemi 212 with rod piston fly wheel and vm22 pulls 7k at 65nph the 0to30 probably isn't great but a torque converter will fix that

So I just got one and noticed the chain size is 35. The chain size for a Coleman ct200u is 420 right, so I will need a different chain and rear sprocket right? Also what size rear sprocket should I run 50 or 44? More top speed and some torque.
And if you really want some RPM go get yourself a Wisconsin Robbin motor, needle bearings on the rod and crank shaft will put you in a new place all together.
Got a question I have a Coleman ct100u with a 212 and I want to install the GPS front suspension I called them and they said it want fit but in there comments 2 people said that it bolted right up. The head tub is just a tick taller than the motomax head tube any ideas
I have a stock CT 200 X , I think it has a 50 tooth rear sprocket everything else is stock what if I put a 40 tooth rear sprocket and left the Jack shaft on what would my expected top speed be and what is your opinion of that set up?
If your stock engine is governed to 3600 RPM you would only gain about 5 MPH with a 40 tooth. Black66 has used the 40 tooth successfully in videos. Check them out.
