This hearing test determines how old your ears are! MUST WATCH in 1080p and with headphones for the most accurate measurement!
Each frequency is aligned with the average age in which you can hear the audio. For a the most accurate measurement in hertz, the formula is = 20,925 - (166* Age)
RU-vid compresses audio after 16000hz so if you hear something different at that point that is the reason why

I suppose this test isn't very accurate since I can technically "make my ears younger" by increasing the volume. With my default volume I can hear it up to 18,3 khz and with substantially increased volume even up to 19,2 khz being 32 yo. I'm using studio quality audio equipment but that shouldn't make a difference. My guess is that if you conduct a professional hearing test it would have a standardized volume level.

Hate to disagree, but I ripped the audio track from this video, and opened it in Adobe Audition. The audio wave at 19 kHz is still visible in the Waveform Editor, showing an amplitude of -19 dB, which would be audible to most people if the frequency was not that high. It does fade out immediately after that, and by 20 kHz it has faded out completely to -∞. As a reference, the loudest point in the video is -8 dB.

For this test you have to use headphones capable of reproducing high frequencies. Two of my monitor headphones stopped near 16khz (which is some kind of industry standard for cut-off) and only one another pair with titanium drivers stopped near 19khz. Which means I'm 10 years old. Btw I'm 37.

After i let my ears adjust i got to age 16 clearly and barley at 10, after that silent-ish. I say silent-ish because I did hear what sounded like a plane flying by. Also, I'm gonna be 33 this year and have exposed my ears to loud noises my entire life. I still use home theaters to this day and enjoy it.
