5 Years... 1000+ videos on RU-vid, 30 podcast episodes, over 200 interviews, 50+ speaking events, hundreds of articles... and I'm still nowhere near where I want to be. There is no "making it". It's down to what you want to build and what you want to have on the record or leave behind.
"Every second you spend thinking what somebody else has, is taking away from time, you can create something for yourself." Wow. You're a legend Gary Vee.
Holy shit! I remember listening to this call while I was cutting grass listening to Gary Vee videos on my head phones last year. This video had a huge impact on me and so glad it played while I had Gary Vee on shuffle!
Here are the positives I see in this young girl: *she dosent break down and cry at critisim *she followed up with GV *she showed up with a notepad and pen *she listens she isnt giggling through the meeting {{there is hope}}
Amen, Gary. My husband and I gave up restaurants, vacations, new clothes, furniture and rented in the cheapest places we could find. Because of all of that we paid off 300k of debt, we are going to buy a house CASH by the end of this year and we are now coaching other couples that they can get there too. We now run several profitable businesses, thanks to you and all of your amazing advice. Keep it up, Gary!
Us young people really don’t know anything out here. We let social media and what our peers and friends are doing get in our way of our own thoughts and what we need to do to get what we want out here.
Im feeling so emotional because that was the video that made it click you know and then i followed taylor on insta and i see her insta stories and how shes finally legit hustling and now SHE'S HERE! 💖 So glad to see her on this channel and knowing that gary REALLY IS CHANGIN LIVES 💕
I'm 29 years old and I have goosebumps. Something so simple, we all just need to sacrifice the silver now so we can experience gold in the long term. Champions are not MADE in the ring, they are simply recognized there. All about the process. Tiger Woods swung a club before he could lift one and everyone thinks his putting game is a natural gift. No, WORK.
Building a community ALWAYS has to be about giving to your audience. You're audience is the main focus at all times. Glad she's doing well and striving to build!
Nice question. I'm not a vlogger so I probably don't have the best answer. But I would say this. Most vlogs tend to just be about the particular individual (which is not about the audience). But, what if in each vlog you have a message or lesson for the audience? If you had a vlog on going swimming, maybe the message could be "learn to have fun". So in each vlog you do, think about an overall message or lesson that could be learned by the audience. I hope this helps!
i turned 20 about a week ago.. and was just going through internet for advice and motivation and thats when i found that video and god it was such an eye opener.. and now this... its amazing!!
I started a series called “Making a Beat” ... episode 8 ended up getting a million views and now I’m about to get 100,000 subs in 9 months because of it... one vid can def change your life
Duuuude, I checked out your channel - this is DOPE! I'm not a music producer, but watching the process is fascinating! The 60 second beat challenge was impressive, I even got alittle nervous for you as that timer ran out lol! Keep up the great work, if you are ever in LA - lets meet up! - Subscriber 96,710.
Wow, this made me cry. It definitely hit a nerve. I see myself in her younger self, wishing and dueling on what I don't have or the problems I have, fearing what others might say about me, yet doing nothing about it. I need to pick myself up and do something. I need to stop worrying about other people's opinion and rip those old thoughts out of my head. God damn it!
This was everything! Even though I'm 33, I needed to see this. I've indulged in a career for over 13 years because its the family business, and I did not want to do this. I'm not happy, but this has made me realize that I have not taken the necessary steps to change the outlook. Thank you for this
Loved that original video because you didn't let go until you were sure you drove in the key concept as well as you possibly could. So many individuals would have taken the general 'feelgood' pass of giving the right advice and then bouncing, but you felt that it hadn't sunk in yet. Respect.
I've listened to about half the media you have online. I literally listen to your key notes, podcasts and videos all day long while I work. This by far is one of the best pieces of content you've posted.
Been following her since this moment, I LOVE how she took all of those licks from GV and comes back from that. I also really want to be a part of that community she's talking about! Will have to check it out.
SedaleM she doesn’t do shit. Kids that grow up privileged never will get it. She’s ridiculous, she sounds like a fucking kardashian, it’s cringe. I saw her insta and it’s nothing but selfies and where she travels to. But her bio says “hustler” or some dumb shit . I hate people like this
Omg! Garry I watch you every single day as inspiration … I’m 47 and and my 25 year old is graduated as a film director and if only he got this call from you he’s I. The same emotional state as this girl .. I’ve asked him to watch this every single day as I do you . Grateful and blessed to have you on my RU-vid homepage
i knew what this episode was just by reading the title! this ask gary vee call was one of the first ones i had ever listened to and really made an impact! super cool to see where she is on her journey after that call! Gary = King of Suffocation 🤣👑👑👑👑👏👏
Every one of Gary’s videos have changed my life in some way! I’ve decided to put my foot down and not give a S**T what people think about me and start my channel and series “ProLogs” (The Process Log) that is inspired by Gary! In the last week I almost reached 100 amazing subscribers, had Gary Vee reply to my Instagram comment and did an interview with an AskGaryVee caller! I’m just putting my head down and grinding while things align up. Can’t thank Gary enough for getting me where I am today!
I remember 1 year ago I listened to this video and I was giving taylor shit HOWEVER, the way I see it now, its great that they brought someone like her to interview because Gary really breaks down all the BS we ALL say to ourselves.
It's about the journey, not the destination. Another great video, love your content man! 22 year old living out of a crap town in MA, I spend my weekends studying and grinding for that journey to success. Your videos are so real and it is exactly what I needed, thank you.
I know a lot of us watching are in similar shoes as Taylor. Building an investing community on RU-vid is one thing I want to work on more. Not just producing my thoughts, but building an environment where investors can share their insights and learn from one another.
Truth man! I think there was an episode where Gary said that "hosting the party" (interview-opening up conversation with people)- makes the attention go towards the individual you're speaking to- but the fact that you created that makes people trust that you don't want your journey to just be about you, you want it to be about everyone else. When you are known for being a person that makes other people feel known- I think thats the game. (sorry for the long comment, just really felt inspired. lol) Much love brotha!
+ Michael Jay You're on to a very important point. It's good to want to share your thoughts to help others (with information, encouragement, etc). But, when you're driven by good intent, in other words, when you truly want to help others (which I assume you do 😊) you soon start feeling like a fraud if all you do is share. That's because you realize that, if you want your sharing to be meaningful and impactful, you have to do a lot more listening than sharing. ❤️ Your audience's needs become the driver for your sharing. Good luck with your channel. 😊
Love your intro video. Name dropping Warren Buffett got my attention. I've been following his advise for 30+ years. I'll definitely check out your channel. :)
This was the best video for anyone to watch who keeps trying rush to the top like that is the goal in life, or the person who keeps faking it until they will never make it to prove to others they are in a better spot than everyone. It is the gritty, mind breaking, and body destroying hustle that needs to be done every day consistently to achieve your dreams! That dream better not be a dollar amount but more of an impactful life changing nirvana you feel when you are on the journey. DO SOMETHING THAT MAKES YOU HAPPY AND MONETIZE IT! LOVE YOU GARY VEE!!
Holy crap! That comment about needing to hit rock bottom to really get motivated.. I was thinking this the other day and knew something was off about the thought but couldn't understand what or why. Excuses are the gateway drug to inaction. Thanks, Gary!
This video hit me so hard. I got chills when your words hit home. Gary, I’m so glad I found you on RU-vid. I can’t wait to see what impact this will have on my life. Thank you. Seriously.
Watching this as an 18 years old guy from a small city in a third world country in the north of Africa knowing for sure that in 5 years, 10 years, 20 years I'm gonna be on here spot talking to Gary Vee and just chatting with him about how much he impacted me and helped through my tough time, and knowing that I'm gonna build something big truly makes me happy. Vee nation I'm rising! Let's rise together!
This is amazing. Put your head down and work. "Nothing good will come in the next 3 years" really woke me up. Not in a bad way, because it means to be patient and put in the work required to get where you want to be. Doesn't happen over night. Good for her. Thanks for your content GV🙏🏽
Gary see’s the bigger picture and although I don’t always see it I trust his confidence in the shit he says so I follow his advice even when I can’t fully see it like him... I still know he’s right
Listened to this when it came out! Got straight to my head and now this. Incredible!! Gary I think you need to do more calls and occasionally bring people in and see how they have changed.
She sounds like me, G!! I said "I want to build communities" ( I WANT REAL communities!! WHICH IS WHAT I AM DOING) NOT just online....WE ALL NEED LOVE! YOU ARE WORTH IT, TAYLOR! I appreciate you BOTH so much! Love you as always, G!
man.. she should of plugged her family business and asked for a percentage of revenue gained from it and used that to build a business. Loved the phone interview, definitely resonated with me. Hope it clicks for her.
One thing that always stands out to me is your tough love. I always grew up with that and always thought it was a great push. Hope one day i get to meet you Gary. Much love!
Gary, you are telling the truth. The grind is for real. When I first started listening to your videos.I was like this man is awesome. So much value.Thats why I'm going to continue listening to you.Patient is the key.Last year about this time I was recking my brain, not anymore.I have gotten better ,picked up speed and moving right along.
Paul Do that’s what I’m finding I struggle with. I have a back log of probably 5-6 videos I have filmed and just can’t seem to get myself to edit and post. My ASL videos are for class and it’s making me want to edit again.
Been doing RU-vid for a year! I’ve learned a ton of editing stuff etc! And a lot about myself! Wish you luck man! Just remember it’s tough and don’t stop!
Loved the first conversation you two had together and loved it even more now. Just graduated from college and am in this exact place. "It's about actions." Thank you, Gary.
I watched Taylor's journey and looked at her brand DNA. It's got some awesome photography and tone to her instagrams and website. However! It really needs a story and a background. At the moment the site just looks like drop-shipping, quickly set up and there's no real story behind the brand. Get yourself a Copywriter Taylor and get people buying into your brand and loving it. Engage with your existing customers, reply to any comments on socials, totally agree with Vee on the facebook live.
I'm so glad I started watching your content. My first few impressions of Gary were hard to see past his honest replies and advice, but now it's helped me move past a lot of bullshit I create in my own head and to just do the things that make me happy, no matter who is or isn't watching. Thank you, Gary, you are a great mentor for so many in every age group.
I saw your videos about yard sales. And now me and my mom resell on eBay, Poshmark, and Etsy. It’s been so much fun. I love thrift shopping for good deals. We actually made a step into buying in bulk/wholesale.
I remember this!!!! 8:39 - 8:46 is THAT MOMENT! Also, 10:19- 10:24 & 11:51-12:17 & 13:26 - 13:37 & oh 18:55 - 19:04 reminds me of The Alchemist. If you struggle with any of this and wanna go deeper, “The Alchemist” a GREAT book to read.
Me and my boyfriend are both from Buffalo, NY and talk about that call all the time. It's so crazy that this came up in my feed today! Thanks, Taylor and Gary for being a big inspiration!
🙌🔥🙌 been apart of Taylor's group for a while now. It's pretty dope. Especially if your looking for help in getting something off the ground or expanding. Lot of really helpful cool ppl with unique skills. Hope to see u there. Happy new year!! :) facebook.com/groups/DigitalEra/?ref=share
"When the student is ready..." you know the rest. Gary, I think this vid just changed my life, for the better...shit. I'm halfway through the video. It's time. Slow and steady. #CleaningOutTheBrain Peace and love, dude. C u at the top, guys. ❤
Actually, as a kinesiologist + health coach, I try to help client with their health going bed before 10pm and waking up 5 -6 but Gary asked them to go bed at 2 AM lol But most of what Gary said about business I can apply and transpose to my clients for healthy living. Like action now and wait for long term effect. Don t expect magical transformation in a flash.
CoachPiuze question what do you for clients who perform better during the night. Like I'm at my most creative 10 to 2am. Not expecting you to answer but just exploring what is researched vs what is reality. Like not all business professors are great business men sory of thing.
I loved the answer to the question, the idea that slow and steady wins the race.I have been in business for three years no meaningful results as yet and I am feeling like giving up,the answer that said talk to me in six years, made my day, realising that I m still at the beginning, work, work I heard that very well.the question who are you proving yourself to,was the right question that I had to ask myself...almost fifty also mess up my head but then talk to me in six years relieved me of my anxiety
LOVE THIS!!! Gary or Gary's team, can you do more of this kind of stuff? Videos of the advice Gary gave them and then year or two years down the track and where are they at, what did they get out of it and what have they implemented. I think that would be awesome content. And the fact that there are so many people that ask questions of Gary I think you would have heaps to choose from. Regards Ben
Gary, I'm forty an I just found out about you. Not only do I feel ultimately late to the party it's a lot to take in but, you fucking inspire me! And when it feels like I'm ready to jump all in I find my self staring at what feels like a gigantic wall of information and data. So I'm like fuck it and run head first into the objectives. I get gassed I find my self doing multiple tasks with minimal knowledge and capability. When I keep you audio books in my ear and videos in my face the path clears a little but no sooner then that I feel unproductive because I'm watching you and not working or at my "mindless job" and "not working" (no pun intended) or in uninspiring yet socially necessary small talk that snatches my future platform ideas right out of my skull. It makes me want to throw-up when I literally can't retrieve my just previous thought. It starts to feel like ppl on the other side are adding to the wall making it difficult but I can't quit my job an Kim&Kanye, Wyoming to "focus" can I? And if so, how?
Gary & Team Garyvee, thank you so much for putting out this video. I saw the episode last year but it didn't make echo in my head. I don't see a better way to get into the second half of the year than watching and listening carefully to this massive video.
