Oysters, like wine, take their distinctive flavor from the aquaculture of their home bays.
In this video filmed before the COVID-19 pandemic, “Oregon Field Guide” visits an oyster hatchery, a small oyster farm on Netarts Bay as well as the largest shellfish producer in the U.S. to learn how these delectable marine animals are seeded, grown, and savored for their unique "merroir."

I live in Oregon and I don't know that I've ever specifically had a Netarts oyster.

Some vegans will eat oysters since they have no central nervous system ans apparently cannot feel pain.
