I really like paintball company history videos. I wasn’t aware they folded. Seems like it could also have been that maybe the popularity of mechanical markers could have hurt them also. Would be cool if you also did a video on the demise of Worr Game Products, as the autococker still has a strong following. Sigue adelante con estos buenos videos!!
Thanks for the story on Dangerous Power. I just purchased a used Dangerous Power G5 Spec R (01/10/2024). I got to be honest, the last time I played paintball was back in the 1990's and I still have my Tippmann Pro Am. I just got the marker to return to the game since my kids have both moved out. Now it sounds like I kicked my kids out to the curb but in true honesty, my wife and I taught them well and focused on their development. My daughter graduated cum laude as a registered nurse in 3 years and passed her boards. She now works out in Phoenix, AZ and makes bank. My son, our youngest child, is attending the University of Arizona majoring in Pharmacy and has a 4-year Academic Scholarship. This brings my story to picking up paintball gun activities and other activities. My Dangerous Power G5 Spec R so far is flawless and fires amazing. I do feel that the efficiency is not great from the 68 cu*in 4500 psi tank. I will have to find the time to get a count shot from a full tank to evaluate its efficiency. I saw a video on a Planet Eclipse LV2 fire 1,250 shots from a similar size tank which is very impressive to me. I am possibly looking at buying a new Planet Eclipse LV2 or CS3. I know they are expensive and the amazing thing I did not think of is when your child finds their independence, you discover that you get a raise. A raise not from my employer but by the mere idea that your child severe the financial connection to my wallet. So, I find a nifty $1200 to $1400 a month of disposable income or self-induced raise. So back to my paintball marker, I fear the parts and service repair on my Dangerous Power G5 Spec R may be limited or unavailable. What's your thoughts on continued ownership of Dangerous Power Paintball markers. I see this video was posted 2 years ago or 2022 so not sure if your thoughts have changed from then but I wanted to get your views on this matter.
After a few issues with quality control on some markers like the FX, and the G3, they shot themselves in the foot. The Fusion Elite was an exceptionally good marker, like, really good, as good as any Ego, but because it was a Dangerous Power, nobody looked twice at it.
@@benjaminkitchen7562 I put about 20 cases of paint through mine before I sold it to a player at my local field. I had no issues with it while I had it, and he hasn't had issues since he's had it.
@@HalfbreedTrini are you buying new? I'd check around for used ones at places like Mazenspb or Trademygun. But the difference between the two is drive train. One is a spool valve (G5) and one is a poppet valve (Fusion), so it's going to be preference. I like poppet valves better, so I'd go with the Fusion, but that's just me.
Having owned a couple of Dangerous Power guns (the original Fusion and the IQ) I'd say this: Every thing you've ever heard about Dangerous Power is true. The good, and the bad. They had lots of really interesting design ideas. And lots of quality control issues. You could buy one of their guns and have no issues whatsoever, and lots of fun. . . Or constant headaches. I loved my IQ for it's simplicity and compact size and light weight. I hated it for it's shoddy build quality and bolt stick. The Fusion was my first electro, and I absolutely loved that gun. It only ever gave me one problem; a design flaw where you could adjust the trigger too far down, which would cause it to hit the sensor and knock it loose; the sensor would then rattle around, causing it to rapid-fire even in semi-auto. . . Which caused me to accidentally bonus-ball a young kid during his first time playing paintball. I glued the sensor back in place, and never had another issue with it after that.
Back in 2013-2014 for me I used to own a fx and a threshold and a f7 all three were amazing paintball marker. End of selling all of them due to financial issue during my college year then around in 2018 I end up buying another threshold not know that dp would go under to this day I own and threshold and a F8 with virtue board and eyes both have been great marker. Hopefully someone one day come out from the shadows and explain what happen to DP was it the pandemic that cause it to go under or bad management, cutting corner with Marker ect so many questions everyone has.
They've had a lot of issues and rarely stood behind their products when they failed. They kept using the same functional but problematic and low performance drive train for how long? Noids have always been crappy. The guns always looked cool but that's about it. Everyone thinks low end cheap guns are where you cut corners but it's not true. Those are the guns purchased by newcomers, people who don't yet know how to do repairs. If they buy a dud for their first gun they may never play again and if they do they won't use your product again. It's that simple. Especially if they call for support and you tell them it's their fault, not your crappy QC lol. Honestly I don't know how they lasted as long as they did. I guess markups were good since only 50% of their guns worked consistently.
I love my DP markers. Ive only sold my e1. I love my f7, g4 is a loaner, f8 is smallest but a Jack hammer. I love everything but the board in on the e2.
Ran a G4 in a tournament and kicked ass. It’s a damn good gun. They’re all good. At a certain point, it’s about the player, not the gun. DP guns are light, fast, and accurate. Don’t really care about air efficiency since we fill up after each game anyway. I let some of my teammates use my tm40 so I wanted to spice things up and used a “shitty marker.” 😂. G4 was more than enough imo. Get a high capacity, carbo tank with a decent low profile hopper and you can compete with the best of them.
I refuse to sell any of my Dangerous Power markers. My FX’s are fully Techt out and they shoot as well as my JT Impulse. My Revi is also Techt out and it’s as smooth as my Vanquish 1.5 w/V16 engine. Lastly all of G series markers are all Techt out and have APE OLED boards. I don’t own an E2, but I plan on grabbing one with the upgrade board. DP markers were well built for their price point and they got the job done. All of mine still turn heads to this day anytime I bring them out.

One of my favorite makers was my G4. But I think you hit the nail on the head my G3 and G4 were never my main gun always my backup or the gun I hand it to friend to use. I do want to buy a Fusion Elite since I have never shot any Fusion and with DP gone I want to before it’s too late.
I remember I considered the G5 when it came out. The look of it was nice. Damn sucks to see em go but yeah.. they did it to themselves trynna cut corners.
I had the original e1, and honestly it was amazing other than the board. I was like 14 at the time, but I remember it actually shot really constantly. I will never get making an electronic gun with only uncapped semi and full auto though.
Majority of rec ballers only shoot semi anyway, I can attest I just about never switch out of semi. Those triggers are nice enough that most people can pull 10bps without much effort. If this was a marker made by empire, dye, or planet eclipse I think we'd see a lot more of them out there. They're super light, fairly reliable, and easy to maintain and work on. Being 150 dollars cheaper then the mini GS I think they could've taken off if DPs reputation wasn't already ruined
I don't think dp guns were bad they just made bad business decisions. I think they should've just included a competition ready board and this would've been a much better starter marker but non of the fields I play at allow uncapped semi. They should've focused more on their low end spools like the e2 more than their higher end markers.
I see they didn't change anything on the board 😂. I still vividly remember Mike from TechPBs review of the e1. "Uncapped semi and 25bps full auto mode of death" 🤣🤣
10-14 years ago DP made some very nice markers that were fairly forward-thinking at the time. The last 7-10 years have not been good for the industry (or sport) and companies such as DP failed to innovate to stay competitive. DP went from being a mid-end company in the early-mid 2000s to low-end manufacture by around 2012. It is a shame to see a company go but I am sure like everything else, G.I. will buy DP (if not already have done so.)
fun fact, GI Sportz also declared Bankruptcy, which explains the Kore Outdoor reform. I'm not very confident that they could afford to buy DP's assets... but who knows?
@@JustCantGetRight Companies declare bankruptcy all of the time to restructure debt and assets, I doubt the issue with G.I. is as much related to profit as it is restructuring of debt and leveraging depreciating (negative) assets.

I just don't think swallowing the remains of Dangerous Power will help their 45+ million dollars worth of losses in the last couple of years and defaulting on 29 million in debt. A focus on the fundamentals of a business and a goal of making paintball better for players is what they need.
If you really want to pull the trigger, it's definitely a well-made marker. I have one. It's designed with a completely different mindset than modern markers so it would either be refreshing or unappealing.
Does it still have internal o-rings within the body? I get that's cheaper to manufacture but I think making cheap guns harder to maintain hurts everyone in the long run.
I know this is an old comment but I don't believe that would make manufacturing cheaper. It seemed like it would be more difficult then just making a bolt that has orings
@@ExelArts No, what it does is basically make the "firing can" part of the body, which means less parts which I guess is lower manufacturing cost. With any modern gun you can pull the entire "engine" out of the gun leaving no o-rings in the body (main tube -- there's still airway from reg etc.). The engine fundamentally consists of moving parts (just the bolt in a simple dump valve system like this) and non-moving parts (firing can etc.) What the DP design essentially does is make the non-moving parts part of the body -- but then you need to integrate those o-rings into the body making it a pain to maintain. Yes, arguably the design has less total o-rings, but those o-rings are harder to access.
@@maxxon99 im aware of the engine. how does it make it less parts the G series always only had 2 parts back cap with its dump valve plug and the bolt not much of a change when all they did was add the o-rings to the body and add a bumper ring to the bolt later on. the manufacturing the grooves for the o-rings inside the body seems far more difficult? then adding them to a bolt in which you could add the same amount of o-rings ok just looked at the manuals on pbnation and it seems even the g3 had an O-ring inside the body funny i didnt know that and i owned one 0.o so there was 3 O-rings on the bolt and 1 inside the body behind the feedneck making 4 the g4 had 3 inside the gun but adds the bumper ring to the bolt. so the g4 has one less o-ring but adds the bumper The g5 manual sucks compared to the g4 and g3. I cant find any were how many o-rings are inside the body so im just going to assume 3 and again they add that bumper ring to the back of the bolt. The g4 bolt and the g5 looks the same from just looking at the manuals there doesnt seem to be really any change over all other then theres one less o-ring but they add a bumper ring and moving the o-rings to the body for the g4 and g5 it just seems far easier to mill o-rings grooves for the bolt then the body. probably a reason as to why the g3 shoots better then the g5. not sure how well the g4 shot i didnt own that one but for all DP's faults making a solenoid were the player can work on it was probably there best idea
Didn't Dangerous Power lose a lawsuit for parent infringement for using Smart Parts patents and not paying for them? I thought that was why they went bankrupt and closed up shop. Can you confirm this?
Don’t BUY anything other then PE!! Save up another $100 bucks and get yourself an EMEK! Best gun for under $300 bucks! PE guns are the BEST HANDS DOWN!!
