I've watched replays over and over. Rule book confirms that was 2. The near fall could've been taken off but not the 2

I get tired of that statement. He didn't leave it in the officials' hands. This wasn't a judgement call, we all saw the image from the rulebook. The official TOLD HIM he scored. He got hosed.

He worked so hard for this moment, only to get robbed. CIFs' unwillingness to do the right thing is very bothersome. I believe these officials woke up a lion within Mantanona.

I’m from Buchanan High and saw the match live. Beau was robbed. I felt so bad for Beau.

I seen that match in person, Beau got ripped off of a state title!

He won. The back points could be argued, but the ref initially gave them. But he had control. He had a leg and controlled the hip. That was a clear reversal. (two points) The assistant ref should have had NO say unless asked.

Happy beau won it all this year and that skunked the Buchanan wrestler 5-0 so that there was no controversy

Ive been a wrestling official for 4 seasons before taking this last one off and Im perplexed not just by the decision to change the call but to do so without a coaches challenge. If im unsure of a call i made 20 or 30 seconds later im not going to change it without a challenge. Unless i wave off a call immediately it should stick until the round ends.

There are way too many referees that aren't trained the correct way, or have other agendas, and put into tournaments that they're not qualified to officiate in. This same thing happened to my son in a match that would have givin him the number one seed in the sectional for state. he was losing five to two and hit a beautiful grandby roll and put the kid to his back laying there holding the kid in the move and his coach telling him to just stay put, an hold on to let the clock run out, The referee only awarded him the reversal and no back points and later explained that he had never seen the move before. These kids work year-round and they work way too hard to get things stolen from them it's one thing to get beat by a better wrestler but to get beat by incompetence is unacceptable

Ban those refs. The school needs to appeal the decision.
