🙂🤭 I am really enjoying your movie 🎥 studio series of videos . As a lover of old Hollywood films, especially the classic ones, but from time to time, some of the lesser known. Anyway every time I think 🤔 I know pretty much all there is to know about how these big studios started out, I learn to a little more ,watching your videos. Looking forward to the Twentieth Century-Fox studio history. Thanks for the hard work you and others must put in to making these videos.....

Glad you’ve made this series but get your facts straight. Hanna Barbara started in 1957, not the 1930s. Also your sound mix needs a sound mix. Music levels way to hot and competes with your VO.

I love the content but just a note, the background music is too loud. Great video, keep it up!

7:36 You got a handful of information wrong. At the time these cartoons were made, Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera were not even directors and were still working for different studios. Also, although Betty Boop paved the way for more female leads in animation, the risque sexual humor of her first few years brought in a mostly adult male audience.

1:43 I've Been To Paramount Pictures Studios Tour Museum In Hollywood In Los Angeles California In The United States Of America Back In March 2016 And It Was Super Awesome And It Was Bigger Than Pinewood Studios In The Capital City Of London In England In The United Kingdom As Well Too. Thanks Behind The Business Mate. PS This Is Were Jim Jacobs And Warren Casey's Groundbreaking Masterpiece GREASE The Movie In 1978 And Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom In 1984 Were Made As Well Too. X

To answer the question posed near the end of this video, yes. The only unfortunate aspect about Paramount's beginning (and overall history) regards the films (especially silents) that are now lost (though occasionally one or more does pop up from time to time). This includes most of the Mack Sennett produced comedies between 1918 and 1921..although, as I pointed out above, even a few of those have been rediscovered.

Block booking had nothing to do with actors' contracts. Block booking, a programming of an entire film program of shorts, newsreels, and features from Paramount originated from them, and was challenged in the Consent Decree of 1938. Also, Paramount when through several bankruptcy reorganizations between 1930 and 1935, changing the corporate name from Paramount Famous-Lasky Corpormation to Paramount-Publix in 1931, then Paramount Productions in 1933, then finally Paramount Pictures in 1935. It was at this time that Barney Balaban was brought in from the Chicago theatrical arm to be the new corporate Head and keep the company solvent. And it was in 1936 that Balaban changed the content of their films. Hanna-Barbera was not a production company in 1935. In fact both Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera were just starting out in animation then. The company they eventually worked for, MGM hit ist stride in animation in 1940 and continued to bypass Disney in the shorts field throughout the 1940s. The Fleischer cartoons were never put up for competition with Disney until Balaban came in. He proposed the Fleischer Studios' pioneering POPEYE THE SAILOR MEETS SINDBAD THE SAILOR as the first Fleischer cartoon nominated for the Academy Award. It was special in that it was the first long format cartoon, running 16 minutes, twice a normal cartoon. While it lost out to Disney's THE COUNTRY COUSIN, it should have been petitioned for a Special Achievement Award. But this was not realized. Balaban was influential in changing Paramount's film content by emulating the general audience films that MGM made, but at lower cost. And since MGM was the standard of measurement for live action features, Disney was the standard that Balaban encouraged Fleischer Studios to follow for what they were producing for Paramount.

I’m pretty certain that their recent run of successes has them back to where they once was. They’re neck in neck with Disney in terms of number ones in the box office. They’re getting back to their glory days.
