Instagram- AdamTheWooATW No filming was allowed on 90% of the tour so had to go the photo route . Really loved this tour . Thought about scrapping this video but decided next best thing was showing my day
Love the studio tours coverage - thank you! My favorite tour has always been the Warner Brothers tour. It has changed a lot over the years but I just noticed they now have 5 different tours, all different lengths & price points. Daphne mentioned how she loves the old Hollywood Classics. It looks like Warner Brothers is now offering a 3 hour Classics Tour, 1 hour with a guide & the rest self paced...just thought I'd pass the info on to you!
Too bad about the video, but I’d agree with Daphne; I’ve done all the studio tours in LA and I think Paramount was one of the best for “old” Hollywood. Universal is obviously great as a theme park, the WB tour is good, Sony Pictures (old MGM studios) is ok, but Paramount is really a hidden gem of tours. Fun story: outside the Paramount theatre they have one of the park benches that was used in Forrest Gump, and our guide told us the day after Tom Hanks won the Oscar for best actor he came and sat on the bench all day in costume and in character as Forrest and talked to all the tour carts that came around and shared his box of chocolates 😄
@@VitoScalettaM2Warner Bros which is ok, the universal studio tour requires a $109 pass to the theme park, the mgm tour is crap, and paramount which is about the same as Warner bros in terms of quality. There’s probably others.

Very cool. I worked in the Marx Brothers building for a couple years and could roam the lot as pleased. One time I stumbled into a scene being filmed and pretended to be an extra. My buddy who worked with me just would open doors to random stages and walk in, dude was pretty confident but once you are on the lot they assume you are supposed to be there.
Thank you so much for stopping at Chris Cornell’s final resting place. He’s my favorite singer and it’s been five years since he passed away, a terrible shock to his family and millions of fans. I also loved seeing Paramount Studios, a tour my late husband and I took back in the late 1970’s. We were lined up just inside the original main entrance when Michael Landon in full “Little House on the Prairie” costume stopped within feet of us as he was having a conversation with someone. Everyone remained respectful and left the two of them alone and it was quite a thrill. Strangely, earlier tonight I watched on RU-vid an old Johnny Carson video from 1973 (?) with Don Rickles and Michael Landon and he said his “Little House” movie was going to be made into a series. We all know what a major hit that was! Thanks for the memories. My husband and I were together 45 years and we spent many vacations in Malibu, Venice Beach, Santa Monica and the LA area. 🥲😢
Did an inspection once of Cecil B Demille's old mansion in Los Feliz. Was the most amazing property. Had a wine cellar that had all the original bottles in it from the early 1900's
Wow! Daphne is just a wealth of knowledge! Good thing you brought her with you! She knows her stuff well! You make a great team!! Thanks for taking us along!
Ah, Rear Window..... probably one of the best movies EVER made. I have seen it well over 100 times, and I still find something new when I watch it. Hitchcock was just a brilliant filmmaker and story teller.
Love this tour - that bungalow at 19:23 in the video was my office for a couple of years when Nickelodeon had some offices on the lot. Was so cool being a stop on the tour! 😊
Hi Adam. Thank you for sharing the Paramount Studio Tour. I have been to Warner Bros, Universal and the old NBC tour back in the day. Glad to see Paramount reopened for their tour. I have been to Bodega Bay where the outside scenes were filmed for the Birds. The area pays homage to the film. Also if you are in Central California, the San Juan Bautista Mission is where some of Vertigo was filmed. Again your videos are also informative and entertaining. Thank you for sharing and enjoy your travels.
Gower Gulch - I worked in the Alphie’s Restaurant on the corner back in 1977-78. I lived in a one room apartment by the Bronson Gate on Marathon Street. I would run home at night at 2am from sunset to Melrose along Gower after work every night, my clacking work boots echoing through the neighborhood.
That William Shatner story of him spotting the fire reminded me of a story Leonard Nimoy once told me that in between takes during filming of one of the 6 films they did together one time he stole DeForest Kelley's bagel and the crumbs stayed on his uniform. And there's a whole stage dedicated to Leonard Nimoy.
I took the VIP tour February 2020, right before lockdown. It was amazing! You got some extra nuggets of info my group didn't get. Even sat in the same Gladiator throne. Thanks for the memories!
Thanks so much for sharing all your adventures with us, I have visited many the places that I seen in your videos and this one just made my bucket list. My favorite so far was the hike to the MASH site that you did a few years ago. Love the t-shirt.
Glad you guys still put this video together even though you couldn't film it. Still enjoyed the pictures and stories! This tour looks pretty darn good!
Living in LA all my life I've never done this tour. Nice photos. I have been an extra in a movie though, after winning tickets on the radio station KLOS to see Jefferson Starship, we were asked to come back the next day to be extras in a movie called Hard to Hold with Rick Springfield, all day work for $40 back in 1983.
Fun stuff, I think Paramount has the best studio tour hands down. I did the VIP tour in 2018 and they did let us film, and we stopped all over the place, go to go to the prop shop and we spoke to the guys who make all the different signs and generic food stuff. We walked through the Dr Phil set and the Conan set, and some show that had Lilian Tomlin in it and the highlight was I got to meet Henry Winkler. For the most part we could take all the pictures and film we wanted, but we were not allowed to ask for any autographs or pictures with anyone on set.
Thank you. I was a guest on a TV Show and had full reign to walk the streets alone waiting for taping but didn't know what was what. I can now recognized the stuff I saw on my walk from your video.
Adam and Daphne Thank You for sharing and bringing us along. Old Hollywood seemed more Glamourous and had a mystery to it. That is a Beautiful Peacock and a Beautiful Swan. Adam and Daphne are ready for their closeup.
Did the VIP tour two years ago in the fall and then the Night tour that went to the Hollywood Forever cemetery next door. There were just 5 of us in the group. Really personalized. My only complaint was the souvenir photo, the guide could have used help with framing and lighting to get a better picture since I was back lit and he didn't use the flash so I'm basically a silhouette in front of the famous Paramount Studios arch. The rest of the tour with food and information was wonderful! Loved when they showed us the area where Norma Desmond pulled up in front of the writers offices and where she went to meet CB DeMile for his latest production that didn't include her.
7:02 That building where you sign in for the tour, used to be KHJ TV channel 9 back in the 1960's and 70's. It was also the radio station KHJ 93 AM, which was heard numerous times throughout the movie, "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood." KHJ was advertised as a RKO/General station. I think the "General" stood for General Tire co.
I love Hollywood history too! Glad you did not scrap this video…. That restaurant looked very interesting also love Hitchcock! Thanks for sharing this studio tour.
Great video! The Hollywood backlot tours are so fascinating. I've done all of the tours except Paramount over the past few months (it was closed the longest due to Covid... until as recently as April). Sony is a great tour, too!
Love these videos so much I was suppose to do all of this in March 2020 need I say more but hopefully next year I didn’t want this vlog to end was so interesting love old Hollywood history thanks Adam and Daphne😊
Pretty cool of you to point out Helena Hutchins grave site. Such a tragic story, she went too soon and deserves to be remembered well. You've don't your part to make that happen. Very cool Mr. TheWoo
Used to work as a tour guide at Paramount in the late 90s. Seems like much hasn't changed. The tour is heavily geared towards those that are into Hollywood history. Was very difficult to entertain those that would take the tour expecting to hear about modern productions. The one cool thing was being able to take people on the sets of the day like Fraiser, Soul Train, Entertainment tonight.
I went on it in 2019, we visited Dr Phil’s set. My husband and I live in Germany and have never watched Dr Phil so it didn’t exactly mean much to us! Frasier would have been much better!
I wish it was more into classic Hollywood. Unfortunately there wasn’t much history. And the Dr Phil set was a waste a time. I was wondering who would want to see the set of some lame show?
Such a great vid…thank you. Daphne has an excellent memory. We took this tour many years ago. It’s a fun tour. ASI pointed out to you at Disneyland…you are awesome!
Preaching to the choir, sir! I forget so many things. I have to ask my wife sometimes. You know something?…you two seriously compliment each other. I have seen just about every one of your vids, from way back….and to me, it seems like you are happiest when you are with Daphne. I can feel that positive and exciting energy. Looking forward to your next excursion. The comment….is over! (I feel like I have to buy you guys a churro now!)
THATS ALL I DO DAILY AND Watch only Vintage Hollywood Movies i live it and decorate my home such as classic style. Thank you so much for this video I appreciate both of you
The Paramount Tour" One of the Best!! Enjoy!! OMG! its been years since I've been there!! Last Trip was up route 101 from San Fran. to Monterey, Capitola, & Santa Cruz, with my Late Brother. I Miss those years....
Seinfeld filmed there, most of the tour guides don't know but the scene where Jerry is throwing the marble rye up to George in Susan's parents apartment was filmed there, and when Kramer is on the horse and cartm that was all filmed on the paramount backlot. I've done paramount tour many times, I absolutely love paramounts backlot so much film history
I really enjoyed watching you and Daphne going through the Paramount Pictures studio tour. But what I really loved was when you showed where you were going to eat. I've been to birds and it has so much Hitchcock memorabilia. Great food. Also my sister lives right off of Franklin on Tamarind. So it made me think of home since now I'm living in Massachusetts.
Fun facts, Paramount Pictures had an animation studio division formerly called Fleischer Studios, the company behind Betty Boop cartoons and even Screen Songs and King Features' Popeye series. When Paramount sold the entire Fleischer animators after a negotiation due to Fleischer brother's problems, they renamed the studio as Famous Studios (later shortly as Paramount Cartoon Studios in 1956). Famous Studios for its best known for it's famous Harvey Entertainment toons (now currently owned by Universal Pictures through DreamWorks Animation's DreamWorks Classics aka Classic Media) and even Popeye series continuation until 1957 and even DC Comics' Superman shorts from Fleischer Studios to Famous Studios in 1941 to 1943 (although the entire Popeye and Superman shorts are now currently rights belongs to Warner Bros. under both Turner Entertainment with exclusive licensed from Hearst Holdings for Popeye shorts, and DC Comics, WB's parent company who owns most of Superman characters since 1967).
I loved this video!!!!i so want to go to Hollywood when I come back to the USA next year.i went there in 1976 but I was only 10,I still remember a little about it but I remember Disneyland more lol.i think I would have a better appreciation for the history of Hollywood now of course
Love Hollywood history.I like Adam’s enthusiasm. He seems very energized when in Southern California.Way more exciting than Florida. One man’s opinion.Great video.
Good to see another video from you Adam... much appreciated 👍 Natalie there to keep you company.👍👍😎I have the big book that's a coffee table book of DeMille
This was very interesting. Just took the tour a couple of days ago. They had a tour start every 15 minutes and there were only three other people in my group which made the tour very personal. I could literally ask to see some places I was interested in on the lot and the guide would gladly take me there. We were also allowed to film as much as we wanted, but perhaps that was because there were no productions going on due to the actors' strike. The entrance just to the right of the Bronson gate was the office building where Edith Head worked. The legendary costume designer who had a total of 35 Oscar nominations, including 8 wins. At the start of the tour we got to hold a real Oscar statuette to pose for pictures with. Overall is was more expensive than I thought, but well worth it. Again, thanks for sharing this.
I used to tell people the only time I feel normal was on the lots. Eating at the commissary talking about movies etc. The lots have coffee bean and tea leaf which I think is coo. I only been to Paramount once for a photography exhibit. The made the store fronts into little bookstores. They had food trucks. So much fun. I assisted a bunch of photographers so we did a bunch of celebrity shoots. Spielberg at Amblin. Malcom in the Middle cast. Simpson cast at Fox. Will and Grance on Universal lot. I also worked for ABC so I spent a couple of years at Warners.
Daphne has really grown on me especially when she's talking about what you've been doing, like this backlot tour, which sounds soo good, Thankyou Adam and Daphne
Thank you Adam. I had the VIP tour booked at Paramount for an April road trip. The studio canceled our VIP tour due to Covid. I’ll have to plan another trip down to Hollywood because this looked like a great tour.
Fun fact: I was at the Monterey Bay Aquarium when they were filming the whale scenes in Star Trek IV. Had some great pictures of Leonard Nimoy behind the camera and all the lights. It’s also the only Star Trek movie I’ve ever sat through. My favorite RKO pictures movie has to be Bringing Up Baby. My Dad’s best friend’s grandmother was best friends with Katherine Hepburn. He knew her well. 💕 I remember them showing Stage 25 the night the final episode of Cheers aired. Is the water tower at Paramount operational or just for show?
Wow its grest to see Hollywood i lived there in nineties went to music school. Haf an apartment on North Sycamore. It was an awesome time .I really miss it🎸🎸🎸
from the looks of it with all of the production vehicles must have been a good bit of filming going on. You can see the Hollywood sign from the old Desilu Studio on Cahuenga (now Red Studios) The VIP tour at Paramount is great, when we went we had lunch in Stage 29 (Dr Phil) and visited the set of George Lopez , we went during hiatus , I guess that made a difference, but even with that could not video much of anything that I remember only allowed to take photos. We did go up in Spiderman Alley, would love to go back someday. enjoyed the video
Oooooh. Thanks for this. Not many Paramount and Sony Studio tour videos out there. I want to go on this Paramount one and Sony one after doing the WB on my vacation.
I love the video, I currently have a subscription to Paramount+; which is currently named showing The Offer. It's about how The Godfather is made. FYI, Sam Raimi is from Royal Oak, Michigan (a suburb of Detroit). He still has family in the Metro Detroit area and come here from time to time.
Shame that I’ve only just come across your video now after returning from LA last week, I can’t believe that Paramount STUDIO tour has never crossed my mind. I’ve done universal, Warner and Sony-Columbia-cabbage&cornedbeef😂😂 studio tours in the past but definitely next March it’s Paramount. Any places with Elvis and Howard Hughes history I’d be grateful to hear about. Thanks for the lovely video
Lucy's El Adobe Cafe restaurant across the street was owned by Linda Ronstadt's parents and that's where she met Jerry Brown! Good mexican food and many awesome celebrity signed photos on the walls! I think they are still closed for Covid..hope they will open soon! A real piece of Hollywood history!
Your videos are awesome Adam, my fav one was when you went on the LA hood tour, i hope one day you will go back and do it again as its my all time favorite video you did
I used to go to that rock and roll Dennys back in the late 80's, early 90's. I definitely saw and talked to a lot of rock stars. A lot was just starting to make it big. I wish I would of got a lot of autographs back then but I didn't. I'm kicking myself in the ass for it now.
The building that Nickelodeon was in is still there. I heard (before the lock down, etc.) they were working on renovating it back to its former glory. Don't know what, if anything is happening with that. I used to go there every weekend when it was known as the Hullabaloo Club.
