Remember fellow ATPL students, "West is best, East is leats", as travelling west stretches the day, Good luck with your Human Performance Limitations exams ;)
Thank you for the compliment. I'm glad you enjoy the videography and storytelling in my videos. It's always nice to hear that hard work is paying off! THANK YOU ✌️🙌
It also helps a lot to adapt 2-3 days before you even start the trip to the new timezone. When going east wake up earlier at home and set your alarm clock 1 hour earlier every day until you fly. This obviously is just for private travellers but choose your flights wisely. I personally don‘t like it to arrive at my destination at 06:00am in the morning. A lot of flights from Europe to Asia arrive this early in Asia. It‘s so exhausting to fly through the night without much sleep and then arrive very early so you are forced to stay awake until the evening.
Me personally, I went to Europe from Australia and it's like 9.5h difference but I managed to adjust to the local time in a few days however depending on the person it might take longer. Very good editing Pascal, keep up the great videos.
I flew there to Frankfurt late last year. On D-ABYC and flew back on N13013. Both flights were amazing besides a crying baby on the flight back to O’hare and barking dogs the flight to Frankfurt.
You are correct saying that it's melatonin that makes you tired, but some people (mainly people with Autism or other cognitive conditions) can have different levels of melatonin so they can stay up longer.
yes, you're right, I agree that it's easier to manage jet lag when you fly west than when you fly east, otherwise drink drink drink that's still the best strategy and power naps in between😊
As frequent nightshifter, I deal with "jetlag" all the time (without travelling sadly uh). Like you say in the video, doing sport and enjoying a maximum of sunlight is very important, and going back to the 'normal' time as soon as possible is the best way (melatonine supplement are really effective to get back in a normal sleep rythm, I don't know if pilots can take that free medicine though).
I flew some 15 Hours flight in flight sim. I just that day normally woke up, i did normal things a in 7PM i just turned on flightsim a I flew the whole night. I had 4 coffes and i was that day torally destroyed. Well this must be hard to do regullary, respect!
What about video about crossing ITCZ durnig southward/northward flights? Could be interesting cuz sometimes that zone can be quite tricky to avoid TS within. You got that opprotunity to catch some nice shots while on cruise, esspecialy that You operates sometimes into South Africa.
That's a great suggestion! I'll definitely consider making a video about it. It can be a challenging area to navigate, and capturing some nice shots while on cruise sounds like a fantastic idea. Thank you for the suggestion! Have a good one ✌️
I have some questions that need to be answered by someone. Im doing my igcses this year and will start Alevels in this august . Question 1: Everyone knows ipads dont do really well with its charge as its starts to delay. So is ipad perfect for longhaul flight considering the battery or is there a charging port available in the cockpit. Question 2: What to do after alevels, first ground school? Question 3: Is ground school and flight school same? Question 4 Can we be pilot with weak eyesight ( im -2)
Cool video, thanks for the tips. Looking forward to the next one 🙌 are you aware there's a fake account using your photo & name and replying to comments? I just got a notification
Wouldn’t you just try and stay on your home time zone by sleeping and eating around your normal meal times? That way when you get back from your duty you aren’t struggling to adjust back?
That would be an option. But you’ll never be able to explore the places you fly to then since you’re always sleeping when it’s bright outside. You also wouldn’t be able to do something with your colleagues. So for me personally that’s not an option. Thanks for watching 🙌✌️
I'm working for Discover Airlines which is a company owned by Lufthansa. I have a couple of video on my channel about how i got there! Go and check them out 💪🙌
Actually the answer is quite simple sleep sleep sleep sleep no caffeine no alcohol but I think that's a bit difficult for you pilots to implement otherwise there are of course still sleeping pills I think every pilot has his own solution (Like you) to jet lag, you have to solve it individually But i mean its often a challenge for you pilots😮
Hi, Pascal! L.G. Max(Dein zukünftiger Kollege💙✈️💛)
his advice did not make any sense at all. he said he wanted to stay in his local time zone, so why getting up at 1am CET? and what is with the fake accent?
