The Chevy 350 of rifle rounds. Not new and shiny but common and reliable. Not the most efficient but gets the job done for most applications

100% correct. I submit the 327 would be the 30-06. The long action .308

@@everettrhay4855. The .270 is the 327 smaller but faster / higher reving , 30-06 would be the 400 sb. More powerful but not as long lasting.

I think what surprised me the most about my M1A is the type of recoil it generates. My 1938 Model 70 30-06 is much stiffer, while the M1A has more of a push to it. My suggestion is for anyone who does not own one, to immediately rectify that situation. I have the 18 inch version with the composite stock. I did also have the wood stock too, but that didn’t make it out of the house before the fire. Thank you PG&E for burning up my home and property. 🤮

M1Garand rechambered in .308 with a Criterion barrel is really nice, too. And it flies under the AWB bs because no detachable mag.

Morning Brother Greg,,, Awesome tool!!! I just recently acquired one,,a NOS 2016 model National Match one... Hey I see yours has a original M-14 stock possibly,,unless someone cut it out.. See yours has the cut out on right rear side, near end of receiver,,,for the FUN SWITCH!!! Nice!!! Wonder what year the rifle was made,,have you called Springfield armory and given them your serial number to find out model and year born? Love from SW Ohio,,Germantown,,Brother Neil

At the Pohakuloa Training Range on the Big Island of Hawaii in 1970, some troops went wild turkey hunting with an M-14. When they returned, they showed us just some strands of turkey meat and some feathers. The rest of the bird disintegrated.

Get a M1 Garand rechamered in .308 with a Criterion barrel. No detachable mag, so should be good to go in IL.
