This video is the first in a series of three videos about prepositions. Be sure to watch the other two videos as well.
Now this might surprise you... but when I started to prepare for this video, I quickly realized: I still didn’t know what prepositions are, or what they do.
I knew words like "in," "on", "at", "for", and "from" are prepositions.
But in past videos I just said vague stuff like: "prepositions are CRAZY" or "there’s no pattern, they’re like wild cards--they can mean anything".
Well, one of the things I love about making these videos is, how much I personally learn from making them!
And guess what? I now know what prepositions are! And what they do!
And I realize, they’re not nearly as crazy as they seemed.
In fact, most of the time, they use prepositions in Spanish exactly like we use them in English--we simply don’t notice.
In this video, I'm going to give you 22 of the most common prepositions.
With just these 22 prepositions, you'll understand 80-90% of the prepositions you encounter.
And I prove it in this video too! I went through a Spanish newspaper article and highlighted all the prepositions.
