Navalny was a brave soul (especially protesting Putin's immigration policies, which are just as insane as those of Western democracies) but he never had a chance to win the presidency. You'd think we should have learnt from Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya who didn't exactly became beacons of liberalism and democracy when the previous leadership was removed, but wishful thinking dies hard I guess.
