Dark was one of my least favorite players after beating Reynor in the 2019 wcs global finals. He has gradually grown on me and is now one of my favorite players. Was sad to see he didn't sign up to compete in tsl 9
I love that Dark seems genuinely happy ;) 19:21 Actually i would also go for a win (as d2). Not because i think i can win, but it would be more fun for me :D lwlwllwl's thor all in was a cool idea. Think it was the wrong map (ramp on the natural) and with the ramp and the batteries it maybe would have been better to not attack and instead siege the low ground with bunkers, turrets, and reinforcements while taking the gold base. Or wait for the second thor and drop them in the main base. Felt like walking into a stasis agains a super battery while your thor is surrounded with probes instead your repairing scvs and you can't medivac micro it away was the worst possible way to fight there :D Was a cool game to watch though. Well played lwlwllwl ;)
I'd want to play this kind of holdout just for fun. I know I'd set a record, despite having not played SC2 in about seven years and never being on the ladder. I'd play as Terran and immediately lift my CC, disqualified immediately. Just for the look of confusion on the pro's face later on. Unless someone's already done that, because it's only really funny once.
I think the logic behind the higher level players actually trying aggression against these pros is "the best defense is a good offense". They may be thinking that if they are the ones attacking, then they aren't being attacked themselves, and the longer they may be slowing these pros down the longer it will take for the pros to win. It may be flawed logic, but that may be their line of thinking.
I think dark is an awesome player and part of what I would consider s+ sc2 players, but he does seem slower in these challenges then some of his fellow pros. Also, that first player I don't think was silver. I think he was more likely around Plat 3 maybe. I don't know maybe I'm a horrible judge as I was only ever m3 in 1v1, but spreading creep in silver league??
