Thor is the best response after a cannon rush and i will die on that hill. edit: this is probably one of my first games with this response, you can be way more aggressive with the first thor, and after first thor you get medivac into viking, tanks marines. ofc printf didnt send in the other games I guess x)
@axxey so the thing is, I think PrintF was just trying to make a response work, but basically, when you scout thors, which are pretty easy to see coming from adept shades, you start getting immortals and you can crush it actually very hard. Technically, the best response is probably immortals at home while expanding, and delaying at the proxy, but that's not the soul of cannon rushing
as a terran player this makes me want to punch my monitor. but as a lover of starcraft- printf is a genius. such a conflicting feeling watching his games when youve got sick nerd chills but also murderous rage lol
Easier to see what went wrong in the replay than playing it out. I know, but Moja played a bit baboonish at the end there. No starport (Raven) or sneaking an SCV out for a hidden base while floating 1000 minerals seems a bit weird for such high level.
I played for a while with the name CannonRusher, and well... cannon rushed every game. At least 50% of my opponents were not ready for it! (Admittedly diamond not GM, but even in diamond, players ought to know how to defend from a cannon rush they know is on the way)
So close! I'm sure a slightly higher rated player will complete the task (but probably not share, as it keeps the competition down). And printf may have a counter ...
I still haven't seen any of these pros do a cannon rush without fumbling or doing it in a complete ridiculous way. They usually mess up or lose the probe and try to finish the cannon rush at 3-4 minutes, then claim its a bad strat. of course i know this is a contain and not really cannon rush. Thats kind of my point anyways. Its never a good cannon rush and always some kind if delay, transition or contain.
@@mopzillauk you shouldn't be able to cannon Z on their main base. creep and overlords make it really hard. So cannons almost always go up on natural expansion. Cancel the expansion and make roach warren. voila

Wrong. The thors on the front still have a range advantage, and if you push in to close the gap on the front ones, the ones behind are now in range and punish you for moving in. The range advantage is highly effective when used defensively
really sick of Terran >1000 MMR higher than me not _immediately_ walling off when they see cannons. The cannon rusher cannot move cannons in your base if you hold your ramp. That's Day 1 bro!
