How's it going everyone, ChaoticMeatball here with another mainline POC! One so large in fact that it had to literally be split into two halves in order to be digestable. B2W2 are in fact my favorite games of the Pokemon series, and I'm really glad I got to do this challenge.

Yep, only in the later games did I reasonably completed a “professor oak challenge” aka get all of the Pokémon before the 999 hour mark

19:55 Noticed that critical capture. It happens a lot when you have a big chunk of the dex caught, I played a randomized Black 2 with all the Pokémon available to be caught in different routes and the last third of the dex gave me lots of critical captures.

Started my second Leaf Green POC yesterday! Got a shiny Rattata in the first 10 encounters, got crazy luck. Update: Got a shiny Vulpix and Venonat! I think I'm either gonna redo Emerald next run or start Platinum.

That Jetman reference man... My favorite Super Sentai along Abaranger and Go-Busters. You are one of my favorite RU-vid content creators and on top of that you are a toku lover, you are awesome dude. Are you doing sword and shield with the dlcs or without them? I'm doing it with both dlcs and I've been working on it for months and it is really hard finding out where everything is without a good guide.

13:00 You can actually catch all three regi's in game. You still need the the second game to transfer the key for it.

iirc in poc you must do everything in one save file or game, that's why trade evos aren't needed

when u finish that, can u start doing rom hacks/fan games like insurgence? I did insurgence so it is possible.(make sure to pick up the master ball in the darkrai cult, u'll need it for giratina) also, ur least favorite mechanic is here(but not as bad). have fun finding mienfoo and surskit tho.

I didn’t realize trade evos like alakazam and steelix were obtainable. I noticed that there were a few he didn’t get like accelgor, escavalier, and conkeldur. Is that just because it’s not possible without trading? He kinda had my hopes up making me think I actually could complete the dex by myself after having white 2 for almost 10 years and thinking I couldnt

Quick ball is only outclassed by the master ball. If you use the quick ball in the first turn the capture rate is multiplied by 4. This makes 70% obtainable with a single ball. In your next POC keep that in mind dude, you will save some time.

I’m gonna try this myself and sun and moon but I’m gonna change some of the rules up like I don’t have to leave all the Pokémon up straight to the level I just have to live with the Pokémon up if they can evolve before the level And any stone Pokémon that I can actually find the stones on the root since I have the sun the moon handbook help me on that

A part of me agrees with you that "Professor Oak's Challenge" shouldn't really be done until the dex is finished, it feels like the actual interesting part of this challenge is contained entirely pre-elite four, with everything else just being a "finish the pokedex" run

I have the original games, but capturing footage off of an emulator results in higher quality, so I just go with that.

This could have been so much faster if you prioritized getting game progress over dex progress. Capturing everything you can along the way, but not evolving it all asap. Then at the end you use higher level Pokemon to get the exp even for low levels and it goes by super fast.
