When I hear something nowadays that sounds like a hybrid rap/r&b, I honestly just consider it hip hop shit. Not rap, not r&b. Hip hop shit. It looks like some evolved hip hop.
Bone Thugs-N-Harmony been doing this since the early 90s I’m trying to understand R. Kelly has been the remix king since the early 90s I’m trying to understand his point
@@Heit smh. , no the labels are only signing people that rap like that, you must've missed when Krayzie Bone read the letter about the secret meeting 1992.
Don't mind rappers 'singing' or harmonizing. But never liked the influx of rappers ruining perfectly good R&B songs, I remember being a kid as young as 10 in the mid 90's thinking this is not it. If done right like Mary J & Method Man it can be magical, but that's few and far between..they started having a rap verse on every other R&B track. And as a DJ i'll be quick to take/edit out a wack rap verse on good track with singing with no apologies lol.
If its done right its kool.. A few songs .. But i wish everybody go back 2 they mutual corner ... Gospel / R&B/ Hip Hop/ Rap stay n they LANE.. music could b saved
I call it crap lol…maybe I’m just getting old but rap/hip-hop/R&B just doesn’t hit like it use too. I feel like after the year 2000 it just steadily went down hill. Probably because of the commercialization of it. Just seems it lost its soul. Everyone is trying to get rich off of it instead of creating original art. Everything now days sounds the same to me.
I notice that also when you said "non-melodic" I call these modern day rap singers and rnb singers "cry singers" cuz they sound like they cryin to the beat. These newer generations learn on the internet before living the experiences they need to grow. Nobody "Sangin" in rap no more except Z-ro, Chali boy, King Kyle Lee, Ronnie Spencer., n more I cant think of. Also to me Bone was chanting more than singing. T-pain was jammin IDC what nobody say about auto tune. Akon had a cool voice but he had pop melodies he wasnt sangin. I stick to Ro & Htown cuz been & still makin jams. If it aint jammin I dont want to here it.
