Raymond Burr to me was the epitome of intelligent class. He carried himself with dignity and presence in all of his roles & personal life. Perry Mason series is classic due to storyline and acting but also fashion. I absolutely love the way Perry and Paul dressed~Their suits hung impeccably showcasing crisp & interesting patterned fabrics and accessories. Lol...cannot leave out the doll Della with her quiet style-belts and shoes. Just the attention to all details makes this one of my top tier shows.

Raymond Burr is my absolute favorite actor. I began watching him when I was a young child. I loved the Perry Mason dramas, but actually, I loved everything I've ever seen him in. Decades ago I learned that he lived with his partner. To me, his personal life has nothing to do with the quality of his acting. He was a quiet, kind, caring, and generous person. It's a shame that back in the day he had to keep his private life a "secret" or most likely lose his career. Today, actors tell us too much about their lives, and do wild things to get attention. I wish every actor was more like Raymond Burr and had some dignity and quality about their life. He was an exceptional person. Perry Mason was wonderful.

Raymond Burr refused to suck on a cigarette in the "Perry Mason" series. He would hold one, he would have a pack near him on set, he would light one; but when he was forced to act like he was actually smoking one, he would bring it to his lips and then jerk it away contemptuously. (That did not happen often.) All those things were necessary to get the tobacco company to pay for practically the entire production, but Raymond Burr left the dragging on cigarettes to other actors. When I observed that, my admiration for him increased yet again.

This monstrous, murder-hard-hearted hypocritical prejudice, practiced by the 'approved' brand of monosexuality, is fast-headed toward the longing mouth of the wood-chipper of history! Our younger ones are well-onto the rotten con of it, and are having impressively little of it, knowing now the 'standard plan' taught from the first slice of the "unkindest cut," to be the insanity that this mystically-derived heterocentric REPRO-CULT truly is. The never ending heterocentric 50/50 WARRING, waged against Mother Nature within -- this carried-out in the name of supposedly "complying" with Her (as is favoritely-cited by living, arrogant mostly male steroided stinking hypocrisy), is a thing TRULY perverse, speaking of it. As given such damage as done, it really should be no wonder that most of human males have in some form or other, been driven to barely-disguised madness by it! Within or without, Mother Nature assesses Her penalties for countering or ignoring, what she emplaces for rational use within us. It is ONLY a matter of how soon or later, that they are to be EXACTED on deniers! (And, most having no idea as to what it is truly, that so-eats them alive through life!) Actor Burr, by some luck of happenstance, had a mind enabling him to counter all of the mad, cracked-pot Heterocentric hell in which he was 24/7/365, and worked-out this "opposites only please" immersion, to good and profitable end-effect. Most do not, and are teased-out and destroyed by the rotten old CULT in any way it can. Liked or no, the history of it's denying horror campaign, is coming to it's vicious, malcreant career end! Now "truth seeker." YOU might benefit by just a HINT's-worth, as to why YOU "never would have dreamed" of it!

@@lauranardoni5626 A lot of actors and actresses in Hollywood were either gay, or bi, and most knew someone who was. It's not really Hollywood per se , but rather the type of press that would capitalize on that information. Perry Mason was a well liked and respected, main stream, middle America, favorite character. There were actual PSA's warning young boys about "The Homosexual", showing men prowling around in their cars trying to "pick up" young boys, for a ride in their car. The Military actively court martialed and imprisoned any homosexuals found in the Services. So, it wasn't something that he wanted to get out to main stream middle America.

Raymond Burr stayed at the Velvet Cloak Inn in Raleigh, N.C., many years ago while I was pantry chef there. I was tasked with putting together and delivering a complimentary hors d'oeuvre pantry tray for him and his guest. Mr. Burr answered the door in his robe and seated naked on the sofa behind him was a young man I have to assume was his boyfriend. I was surprised. I agree, especially the practice of ‘outing’ someone. Think about it, if how one expresses one’s sexuality is protected by privacy laws, as in, “what they do in their private life is no one’s business but their own” sentiment; why, on earth, would you make it everyone’s business by outing them? I like to keep my life (mostly) private, I have had experiences that are difficult for others to comprehend, they have no frame of reference. Although they have shaped me, I don’t like talking about them. There is great emphasis on ‘transparency’ these days, but it seem to me the subject should decide what to share and what to hide: to tell their own story, as it were.

Raymond Burr(who'd, previously, just, been an "heavy", a bad guy)in films, walked in to test. He was testing, for Hamilton Burger but, Mr. Gardner said, "that's him...that's my Perry Mason." The rest, as they...etc. One more thing: good pronouncing, on Mr. Burr's birthplace. You'd not believe how many folks, living, here, in B.C., say, "New West-minis-ter." It is, though, "Mission VEE-AY-HOH", in California. Again, great video!
