As a Virginian whose ancestors fought under General Lee, he was my boyhood hero, and he remains so to this day. This was an excellent video. Thanks for airing it.
@@davide9658nice, good to see proud Southerners. But be prepared next year for the election of the Governor of Virginia in November 4th, 2025. Don’t let the Scalawags (i.e., Democrat Virginians) get in and continue the destruction and erosion of Virginia (especially its history and culture) 🫡.

Thank you- I taught history for 40 years-the textbooks were and are woefully woke ! I'm so frustrated about people referring to Lee as a traitor. what they fail to realize and don't know that before the war between the states, the country was called the United States in America and only after did it change to United States of America. Ones loyalty before the war was to one's state and Lee swore refused to take up arms against Virginia. This video breaks my heart, I knew about the destruction of the statue but did not know they had destroyed the chapel and Travelers grave. I left Traveler a carrot last time i was there-so sad-so un-American.
General Lee! That guy was amazing mannn. A godly Christian man too, so sad, him and many others have been so slandered & intentionally lied about :(🤦🏾♂️ His lineage was filled with patriots and heroes, from his father, Henry Lee Ill to Lionel Lee in the Third Crusade. A college president and a War-hero from the Mexican-American War to the War Against Northern Aggression, the greatest American General..... Robert Edward Lee. Salute to you Sir, from an African brother ❤️🇨🇩🇦🇺✝️
The Confederate general who suggested that the South could continue resisting through guerilla warfare was E P Alexander (portrayed as Col Alexander in the Gettysburg movie). He went on to publish his civil war experiences (Military Memoirs of A Confederate) describing the conversation with Lee. Available today through Amazon and highly worth reading.
Nailed another one BirdDogg. Lee was a great statesman as well as a great soldier. We could sure use such a statesman today. Broke my heart to see what was done to Traveler's resting place.
Mentioned that more than 620,000 Americans lost their lives, which is true. But, another 400,000 wounded, which brings the total Civil War casualties to more than a million, not including the missing and captured.
@@michaelwilson9986 Yes, I overlooked civilian casualties there, not intentional. Some Confederate war records were destroyed when Richmond burned in 1865, which makes it more difficult.
@@ArmenianBishop Didnt think you did so,only mentioned in case somebody reads to serve as a reminder.. 😉 You might know but Saw recently that Gen Bragg was n is to Thank for saving a good deal of Confederate Records When Richmond feel. Don't hear that in History class. Like a bunch of other stuff.
Thank you for another great video. It was hard to see all the destruction of our history by a select few. American by birth, Southern by the Grace of Almighty God.
Thank you! Professor at George Mason University School of Law, Dr Francis H Buckley, (who writes on issues of Constitutional government and rule of law), explained in an article: - Robert E Lee resembled George Washington more closely than anyone else in history. - Virginia (and the south in general) were justified in seceding and Lee was not a traitor. - The Confederacy was doing the same thing as American colonialists in 1776. - Lee had a universally recognized superiority and dignity - Like Washington, Lee inherited his slaves, believed slavery evil, and released his inherited slaves. - Lee was seen a noble and honorable man who was gracious in defeat. - Lee became a symbol of national reconciliation after the war. - The destruction of Lee’s monuments means reconciliation has ended and died. - The north/Union and Lincoln actually tried to guarantee slavery forever. - Lincoln didn’t invade the south because of slavery.
I’m in great sorrow that most of the confederate memorials, particularly General Lees , have been taken down and mostly destroyed! When one ignores one’s history, they are doomed to repeat it. There have been many distortions of the truth, the past and down right lies that’s been told by many that doesn’t know the truth even if they lived it.
“While we see the Course of the final abolition of human slavery is onward, & we give it the aid of our prayers & all justifiable means in our power we must leave the progress as well as the result in his hands who Sees the end” - Robert E Lee 1856
Good video as far as it went. General Lee also said, however, that had he known how cruel the Federal "Union" during Reconstruction would be to Southerners, he wouldn't have lain down his sword.
