They could've done it, hell. Odin's horse could have done it, Even more, The Minions Of SET could've done it, anything divine could kill Aku, and the skills the Minions had, he'd be dead before he can say "I'LL BE BACK SAMURAI!"
Nah aku would win because: 1) every shard of aku is as strong as the original mess meaning aku we see now is as strong as the aku that fought against gods 2) the first one was 3 vs 1 and aku nearly got vishnu. Meaning he would win is a 1v1 battle
It's probably Forbidden And he wasn't Informed of Aku or of Samurai Jack. As it clearly shows, he Rules his own Domain and turf. If Ra Did Roam the lands he would eventually Run into Aku and Crush him.
That's true. Aku is but a miniscule fragment of a grand cosmic evil that Ra already destroyed in times long past. Granted, Odin and Vishnu helped, but I doubt Ra would need them to destroy such a small piece of a foe who was so easily defeated before.
Re watching it now, no I think his story would've been about letting go of the past and making the best of the present . If he went back he'd undo all the good he did and alter the lives of those he saved

If I recall correctly, Aku is but a tiny fragment of an ancient cosmic evil, and Ra, Odin, and Vishnu teamed up and effortlessly wasted that evil eons ago. So Aku by himself shouldn't be any sort of challenge against any one of those three.
Just gonna say that since Aku was implied to be slain, Jack could successfully locate a time portal without being repeatedly cucked by Aku’s henchpeople.

Just to inform everybody. That's not Ra. That's Horus, Set's brother. If you watch the Gods fighting The Darkness in the Birth of Evil episode. You can tell the difference between Ra and Horus by their crowns and body shapes.

I don't think he is meant to go back in time, because either time is a forward and constant construct that cannot be stopped--meaning the time portals Jack wants to use would only send him further into the future, OR the time portals are only connections to alternate dimensions. This again is based on real world theories, more than likely the real case is its Jack's destiny to defeat Aku in the future. As to whether he will return in time, probably not.
Was always pissed that this show never got the series finale it deserved. There are few shows which were as creative as this one and no new show playing today even compares to how great this one was.

The gods can't kill aku for the same reason the sword can't kill the minions of set. Only the power of human righteousness that lies in jacks fathers spirit can kill Aku because it was jacks father that created him.
Not true, the gods were able to harm the dark mass that Aku spawned from, ergo they can also harm Aku. The reason the gods don't kill Aku is because they consider him a problem among mortals.
Nah the gods absolutely can kill him. They just only fight directly if the entire universe is in danger. That was the case with original black mass but Aku is more content to rule over different planets instead of destroying everything
