While Renjun definitely made a big mistake, it's an understandable mistake. Not excusable, but understandable. The fact that SM is quick to make their artist's apologize, but does nothing against saesangs is the real problem here. Both attacking and defending Renjun isn't helping anything. It's SM that has to change and actually protect their artists so they don't feel forced to take such drastic actions.
I 100% agree, this was a situation that was boiling for so long and it exploded in the worse way possible. SM should be the ones taking the blame for this mess.
I felt like this person went to lengths to get that apology (not from SM, but Renjun himself) and air out this business on Twitter in a way that feels too performative to come from someone supposedly not involved in idol culture… Why not change your number and avoid the drama on social media after? Because her number was in public platform. And the people who knows her and see the number would think that she is this type of a person. It's a defamation. And also she did went to change the number it's just that she reported it to police after that because the shop keeper told her so.

Not only got Renjun, but got Renjun who is having massive issues with sasaengs getting his number and calling him? And then happened to find out who he was from Twitter? Those two friends don't call each other that often. And I don't know about your country but in Korea it's pretty common to change a number.And it's also very common to call the wrong person because of the old number. It happend to me several times as well

Doxing can be illegal but america has the first amendment so it is not so cut and dried. It depends on content, intent and what was shared. It's the old "yelling fire in the movie theater" argument. If intent is to cause a riot, then 1st amendment protections does not apply, if they smelled smoke, then yelling fire is not illegal.
I feel like now she's got his number somehow and rung him, instead of him miraculously falling for her over the phone and wanting to date her (which lets face it, is what all Sasaengs think's going to happen) he very publicly rejected her so now she's making his life even worse by blowing it all out of proportion and making him suffer even more. Korean mobile phone numbers, I believe, mostly start with the same 2 numbers, then 3 carrier numbers, that leaves 7 random numbers. The chances of dialling the correct 7 numbers is one in 9 million; 9 correct numbers, 1 billion. If she truthfully, randomly dialled Renjun's number, those are the odds of her doing it. And she and her friend could go into any police station with proof, a phone contract, receipt or anything official with the number on it to prove that the number she dialed belonged to her friend. If she could do this, then accept the circumstances Renjun is under, accept his apology and move on, it would show she was definitely innocent. It's what most of us would do. Most people getting a wrong number would apologise and not dial it again, not keep dialling. I think what Renjun did is the action of somebody under pressure and scared. It's no different to any of us constantly being harassed by somebody we don't know; every journey, every outing, round every corner somebody could be stalking you, it must take over your life. I don't blame him for what he did, especially if there were constant calls from this number. I hope he regains his health soon.
To be honest this wouldn’t have happened if SM didn’t make Renjun think he had to do it himself. It’s SM’s job, but of course they did nothing. They never do.

Not only that but they will pay money to lower tier employees at the company's to sit there and give them the information they need whether it's their cell phone number where they live etc. And the companies don't do much and they don't Sue these people either a great example of this is got7 Youngjae. that man during the last 3 years of got7 being under jype had to move four times because the same person kept finding his address and showing up at his house. He talked about it numerous times on lives and asked them to stop doing that hell two of the times he didn't even move by himself he ended up moving in with people that weren't celebrities I'm assuming they were family or friends so that the lease wouldn't be under his name and yet they still found his address the only way that could have happened is if they would have had someone in the company that they were paying for that information because the company would have to know where he's living but no one else would have to. That's not even accounting for the fact that he also had complained about the fact that he had to change his cell phone number like three to four times in the course of like 6 months because no matter what number he changed it to and it was always a private number again the same two numbers kept calling him and he did not know how they kept getting his cell phone number. Renjun he definitely could have made a mistake but I also feel like that number had probably popped up a few times on his phone I highly doubt that he would have sat there with that one number only calling once and would have been so blindly raged with all of his anxiety and everything else has been going on and just posted up if he didn't look at his call log and saw that they probably had called a few times. Aren't idol numbers protected? From what I've seen, their numbers are usually stolen by sasaengs, then sold. The process for an idol to have a number is almost as big a deal as a world leader having a number. This all seems a bit suspect to me🤔

Calling someone else because of the old number is a very common thing here in Korea. Everyone knows that runjun was tired of sasaeng calls but he shouldn't have exposed her number. She was living fine and because of him and his crazy fans she got thousands of massages threatening her. She was a kid and think of how much pain she got. And my friend told that that sasaeng already change phone numbers for lots of times in order to not get caught. So for xiaohongshu, why the sasaengs likes to use that app is because the China xiaohongshu app cannot be easily downloaded by any Asia region except japan and south korea compared to the international version app of xiaohongshu. I got to know about this from my friend who works at South Korea in cybersecurity. So actually I only know the surfaces of China ver. of Xiaohongshu. To explain more, maybe you can ask from the experts because my friend also currently investigating on this issue since this issue is ongoing and there’s some sensitive data that can’t be announced yet, if I got to know new updates, then I’ll let you know also.
