The way I interpret it, I see it as Shirou wandering around seemingly aimlessly and Merlin help pushed him towards the door to Avalon in a sense. And with Merlin talking about how it'll take 2 miracles is like if Shirou had a key to a door with Saber behind it, and Saber is the one who can remove the secondary lock from inside. But Shirou himself has to find the door and Saber can only remove the secondary lock

I always saw it as a matter of time but Merlin intervening was because as he said he was never fond of sad endings so instead of waiting he's just like a viewer and decided to just fast forward the process cause why not?
Hehe. You just me imagining that Merlin is one of those people, sitting down at home, watching a movie and during the boring bits. Just grab the remote and hit the skip button a couple of times until it gets to the action parts.
I don’t think this ever got animated which is such a shame, have to hope they remake the fate route and animate this because SABER DESERVES a proper anime adaptation route (old one is still a fun watch tho it’s just the other two are all shiny looking and Saber deserves that treatment)
*OBJECTION!!!* *And then it comes, someone that did not saw the DEEN route, bro, firstly I bring up that ufotable does not even use decent music, while DEEN's are better or at least on pair with the VN, and to be fair, Emiya and The Last Strength were reused in UBW, good but only one original music in the entire anime is cool, the one on archer's figth that plays when shirou takes a sword from a hill, and there is even the Opera in Heaven's Feel, really good but where are the VN soundtracks? And EiyuuOu beats anything Ufotable ever has done*
I actually want Shirou and Artoria to be a duo in Grand class container. Though I'm sure there will be no Shirou in fgo but I am hoping for Og Artoria to be in fgo main story .
One of the hard rules for the Fate Franchise is to not invalidate the possibility of Last Episode being the canon ending. In that ending both Shirou and Saber live eternally in Avalon, happily and together. The only option they might have is Artoria's "Once and Future King" prophecy where King Arthur returns to the physical realm in the time of Britian's greatest need.
@@johnmorrison519 It's not impossible per se. Given that the entire Artoria Avalon was indeed forcing a human form to Excalibur.... But frankly , I wish that Fate! Shirou had simply appears as something like Saber Shirou.
so what I'm getting out of this is that Merlin maybe(?) utilized something that would likely fall under the same branch of magic that Heaven's Feel falls under, while in the dream realm, to force a miracle and drag Shiro, as he was in limbo and dying, into Avalon. But the prep time varies, and depending on who's telling the story because the conditions are always different. Maybe Merlin could have just snapped his fingers, maybe Shiro had to meet a hero's end so merlin could yoink him from right out under akasha before it could claim him since Archer Emiya already exists and all, so it's not like the throne cares. Or maybe what Merlin was cooking simply had prep time or a cost that couldn't be negotiated. Avalon is kind of weird like that.
I kind of figured shirou is searching till he dies with no reward and saber waited until she is content with just waiting for him forever knowing they will never meet, one search endlessly, and one waited continuously. longing their entire lives until it becomes supernatural and merlin just kind of, open the way.
my take on this is that shirou after trying countless ways and methods to get into avalon but failed to succeed went to get help from the atlas institute in the middle east through a maybe surefire but very risky way of entering Avalon through using the sheath of avalon itself as a catalyst to enter Avalon dangerously and then comes the merlin part in the OG novel and help him out when he got there because avalon is within his jurisdiction it would also probably make sense in the context of the barren land mentioned and the atlas institute location would also prove to be a hurdle to find since they are all recluse lol
I like the idea of both Shirou and Artoria having to each essentially fulfill an impossible quest but I want Shirou to have to do than just endlessly seeking her. I would have liked it if he had to retrieve what's left of the Sacred Swords the Lady of the Lake gave to Artorials knights to function as a keys to Avalon or freeing Albion in some way so it can take him to Albion along with itself.
A fan theory says by virtue of having Caliburn inside of him as well as Excalibur in UBW and by walking a similar path to Saber, could fulfill the conditions to enter. HE might also have Avalon. On the other note, this Shirou manage to win against Angra Maiynu, All the World's Evil and come out sane and whole. Avalon's clause of only those wihtout sin can enter... he might come close alongside a few help.

@@GAarcher I mean , the other guy could try to say it's about been sinless...but Avalon is not really unreachable. The Paladins of Charlemagne had gone there a few times , Paladin Ogier was basically Fate! Shirou but his waifu was Morgan.
So Jeanne could walk to Sieg in the Reverse Side of the World after he became a dragon since she was already on the Throne, but Shirou had help from Merlin.
I guess it could be easier for Merlin to pick up Shirou if he somehow ended up on the other side. Getting on the other side is still nearly impossible to achieve, but at least we are not bounded by location in this case, so it could be desert as well
So, we have Avalon sheath, that temporary makes user part of Avalon, place on other side of the world. And we have access to Reality Marble, spell that quite literally denies will of the world and built it's own. Could Shirou use them combined to somehow break border between this side and other side by himself? Sure, this would take huge amount of time to figure it out and make it work, being literally insane to even come to this idea and even attempt to do this might (nearly) kill you. But hey, this is Shirou we talking about, nothing from this is new to him)
Would shirou age in the ubw good end since saber is there and avalon is still with him so does that suggest he would remain physically 17 or its only a excalibur and caliburn thing?
I thought that was a caliburn thing, since Astoria stopped physically aging at like 14 or 17-ish after pulling that sword for the selection Excalibur was given to her later by the lady of the lake since caliburn broke if im remembering correctly So shirou shouldn't stop aging by having both saber and avalon with him, I think it was mainly to allow him to heal over time using sabers mana Plus I believe he'd have to have both Excalibur and avalon constructed to pull off simply avoiding death right? Not preventing aging? Since king Arthur was said to have a sword that cuts through space-time and a scabbard that allowed him to never fall in battle when Excalibur is sheathed within it So yeah, no age stopping with avalon as far as I'm aware Again I could be remembering this wrong😅
It's a bit iffy, because according to the wiki Artoria stopped aging from the moment she drew Caliburn from the stone. However when you take her Lancer variation which is a grown up version of her and yet Lancer would have had to have pulled Caliburn from the stone in order to become king. As I said it's a bit Iffy.
*well, it just ends up as: Shirou still ages normally, but he stays alive, his magecraft consist in suicide, so it's good if he can't die when auto killed, but yeah he ages but maybe no burns*
From what I understand, Artoria stops aging the moment she pulled Caliburn from the stone, then when Caliburn is broken, she starts aging again, until Vivianne grants her Excalibur, which then continues to keep her from aging. Since LArtoria chooses to use Rhongomyniad instead of Excalibur, she doesn't get the same anti-aging effect.

Frankly , you could say her Holy Sword , Holy Scabbard and Holy Lance gives different ways to halt aging and immortality.The weapon she favors more (Lartoria still used Excalibur oncce in a while , for example) , highlights more of that weapon's anti-aging mechanics in contrast to the others.

I do believe that he was on the verge of death and basically Merlin did Merlin things and got him in Avalon, but it wasn't just Merlin, it was a combination of things, one being Merlin of course, two Avalon it self, basically Shirou having affinity for Avalon due to being fused with it, and lastly, as cheesy as it might sound love and a will to transfer mana....I mean the wish to see each other.
For some reason i have convinsed my self that archer at then end of time after humanity ends, fainly gets an opertunity to go to avolan thanks to merlin. Like shiro surchi g endlessly, and artoria wating endlessly. ALSO can you do a video explaining sid and jeanne d arc ending in apocrypha and how it is connected to fgo.
There's a couple of pages in Fate/Strange Fake that indicate that Saber (as in Richard) would wish for this exact thing if he got the grail, but I guess we'll have to see in the last volume whether it happens
Priority of a king and hero he wouldn't go to Avalon himself due to his priority of being a hero be higher so he would still not go even if he known that he could
Now I think about it. All these branches that comes in Fate even FGO is probably Merlin trying so hard finding a "possibilities" that Artoria and Shirou could find each other.
Happy for arthur and shirou but avalon seems so empty. There's no one else for miles if at all. Plus, their loved ones aren't there with them. Homer simpson said it be "Heaven isn't heaven without my family". Plus, its so vague and only people can get in under the right and a specific set of circumstances. It irks me that many now say fate is beat route because shirou and artoria got a happy ending in "heaven" but many other characters who also fought for their ideals and died never got this kind of happiness. I really want to know where fate route shirou got it right but many other versions of shirou got it wrong. This is truly an unachievable ideal. I wish there was some sort of assurance that you could get it.
They should continue fate the anime where Shirou was in the desert on the last episode I wanted to know what happened next like I keep saying fate could be a long great anime they can do a lot with the anime 😊

I have question. You know from the starting of fate franchise we have seen merlin as a kind of person who contributed to the world by creating heros like Uther or Artoria (mainly her) but the more we get to know him the more complex he becomes. By creating heros over the course of his life on earth before being trapped in Avalon he can seen as a person who done so much for the mankind. But as we progress further in Fgo we came to know that Merlin don't give a shit about humanity at all. The only reason he helping caldea because of ritsuka and mash (probably) much like Koyanskaya. I want to understand the mindset of Merlin.
