@Vitoloric There is a chance though. They're only 8 pts ahead. Their hardest games are United and Spurs, with possibly a rejuvenated Watford side, and possibly even Arsenal giving them a difficult time. They went on a mad run at the start of the season, but their form seems to have died down a bit now. Though, it seems unlikely we will close an 8 point gap in 9 games, it's definitely not out of the equation.

@@StatmanDave with the potential to get much better, something the two teams currently better cannot say. Add Sancho is and there's nothing between the 3 teams, again with United having a much bigger potential for improvement.

They both compliment Maguire but the thing that backs bailly over lindelof is his pace so even if he makes a mistake his reactions are slightly better lindelof has become better though become a better passer and breaking the lines so again it depends on the opposition for me and who he's playing it a team it's all about balance, I do like bailly more the lindelof but lindelof does bring something bailly doesn't in his own way so it's based on situation for me imo

A 4-3-3 with a 3 man midfield of matic pogba and bruno would be best imo as matic could sit which could give pogba the license to go forward (a thing he does very well and could not do at united because of the defensive workload he has been handed)
He could definitely be one of the assistant coaches, eg. Carrick, McKenna type role. I dunno how his man management is though haha. And hes inexperienced at football management. Go for it Statman!!

It’s not like James is a dumbass who doesn’t know to look for a pass instead of a shot. At that point, Bruno hadn’t started his run and he was out of James’ eyeline. By the time he took the shot, Bruno was near the box and he should have passed. Then again, hindsight is 20-20. He’ll live and learn.
I really enjoy watching the tactics and seeing how Man U are developing under Solskjaer, it's quite exciting to see how they'll be in a few years with what is a fairly young squad and potentially with Sancho. Great vid!

the more sufficient way to not get injuries at the start of the restart it to go with a 3-5-2 and put rashford and pogba on the bench and sub them on the last 20 mins of the game. plus we are playing against the spurs
6:45 This is a perfect example of why stats dont paint the full picture Yes Luke Shaw has the highest pass % but that doesnt mean he is the best passer by any means Brandon and Dalot make a lot more forward and threatening passes into the final third and of course with that risk comes a reduced pass completion. The main reason why people like Brandon is because he is so much more forward thinking while Luke Shaw is waaay too safe and always passes it backwards.
WIth Pogba and Bruno you don't need too be Moore forward and Shaw is a better defender when he is in the zone as he is at he moment.. I like Brandon and Shaw equally actually.. So if they play 50/50 im happy..
@@Bralesteg brilliant point, shaw for me is a great all rounder but Brandon at times is a lil weak and dalot is much better going forward than defending. Though Brandon for the future will be rly exciting
Shaw is brilliant as the left CB in a 3 when we play 5 at the back like we have done away to the big teams, but if we play a 4 id pick williams everytime

Same. Fred has been amazing this season and has really stepped up. Honestly he's looking like a key figure in the man united team. However for more attacking opponents such as man City or Liverpool maybe play matic over both mctominay and Fred since he has more experience and is better defensively
In the training videos we've seen Matic Pogba and Bruno train together...I think Bruno and Pogba can play together as a midfield duo with Matic as DM....Would be fantastic...Full throttle attacking football
Think something which needs to be mentioned is the 5-Sub rule which is now in, with such great depth in all areas I think we can make the most of bringing on 5 fresh players!

Another that could be interesting is a 3 in midfield w an anchor and two on each side - Matic/Fred in deeper role w McT and Pogba on either side (McT and Fred switching positions & all). With Bruno as false nine with Marcus & Martial on either flank w the inverted forward role (similar to Firmino, Salah, Mane)
As much as Freds improved and Matic been solid ....Mactomony would b a perfect anchor ...also Bruno can go out wide then the full back can overlap... cannot wait for the Spurs game 🙉

I would be disappointed to see the fred/mctominay axis broken up at this stage, I'm yet to see suggestions for a midfield diamond option that sees Scott or Fred sit as the defensive midfielder, whilst the other partners pogba in the middle, with bruno being at the tip. Martial and Rashford would be our Yorke/Cole partnership up top. Bringing off either of scott or fred in the late game and switching the formation to add Ighalo or Greenwood at the top of a 3 man attack will allow us to go for that winning/game-saving goal, or conversely starting with 3 at the top and bringing on either fred or scott to see out the result.
What if they play a 433 with Scott mctominay as a cdm and pogba as a rcm, Bruno as a lcm, and in the attack they play martial on the left wing and rashford on the right wing with ighalo in the center
i think the diamond combination ( fred-mctominay-pogba-fernandes, ahead of them martial and rashford) could be really good when fred and mctominay take more of a marathon/defensive roles while pogba and fernandes get more offensive freedom. Of course that means that bissaka and shaw would go really high and mctominay and fred would guard their backs to prevent counters.
Great video as usual! But don't you think Ole is also thinking about using a 4-2-2-2 formation in some games now that Pogba is back, particularly against weaker teams who park the bus. This would enable him to play both Pogba and Bruno as well as Fred and McTominay who have both been outstanding this season. I've seen it used a couple of times this season at home when we had a lot of the ball. He tried it with Mata and Perrera and it worked okay. Lots of movement but the quality wasn't quite there.
imo we should opt with a 4312 formation. Same formation against Everton but this time put Mctominay/Matic with Fred and Pogba in the midfield 3. Bruno as the CAM and Rashford and Martial doing all the goals. Defence is same as always. This is a suggestion btw
4-4-2 diamond might actually be a really good formation rn. accopmadates both pogba and bruno, also gives them the support of fred and matic, whom you cant bench as well. looks really balanced to me
4-3-3 with DEGEA, AWB, lindelof, maguire, shaw/williams, then pogba MCTOMINAY, Fred as 3 man midfield , rashford on left, martial as CF and Bruno on right wing..... In possession,while attacking, united goes 4-3-1-2, with Bruno moving to free attacking role in midfield or as number 10,unlocking defences and shooting from range and fred/awb goes to right wing to cover for him there. Also Bruno can whip in crosses from right midfield and right wing for rashford, martial pogba maguire (who ever with a big head). Without the ball Bruno presses at opponents left back and center halves. Meanwhile pogba can do his thing on left midfield with Fred and mctominay to cover for his defensive lapses. Thus there's a balance and all round threat at both sides and all over the pitch and reduces the lopsided left sided display of the team we have seen the last few years. It's suicide to have only mctominay as DM and giving defensive duty to pogba. First game is against mourinho, he's gonna target pogba in that case for sure.

I’d like to c a 4-2-2-2 with fred and Mctominay holding while bruno and Pogba support the attack. All four midfielders can complement one another and our 2 striker rashford and martial have a tendency to deviate to the wings, so they’ll give us some width. Only real disadvantage is non of our sidebacks r effective offensively so we’ll lack the width they could’ve added.
Wan Bissaka's offensive output will increase massively if we get a good RW in there, defenders will have to pay more attention to the RW which will leave more space for Wan Bissaka to get in there and I also think our LB's will improve defensively when they get to play against world class RW in practice.
Setting up against a low block: A back 3 (Maguire & 2 others) Fred or Mcsauce as a destroyer, Angel Gomez as a 6, Bruno and Pogba as 8s, Rashford, Igahlo, Martial up top😍💯
I think having Dalot on the right flank with James and Greenwood on the bench would give Ole game-changers should he need attacking options when chasing a game. For that reason, I think Dalot should be used on the right as a starter over James. Williams can play on either fullback position so he can provide cover for Shaw from the bench. @statman, where do you think Andres Periera fits in this squad or do you think his time is over? Perhaps an upcoming video on Man United's young/fringe players could be informative.
Dave this one of ur best videos yet. Except if Pogba is to play, I would play a narrow diamond to make Greenwood and James super subs. This gives Fred playing time. However in my opinion I think Pogba needs to go ASAP because he's a player who needs to be around naturally talented players to succeed. United have Bruno but Pogba is a waste of space and money like Sanchez.
I think united will will score 25-30 goals in those 9 games, maybe even more as that’s about 3 goals each game, we are going to destroy teams and Norwich in the FA well that will be easy

I love the analysis. I really do. But the right wing position is tricky. I would love to see diogo dalot play more. I love James but I think Dalot too deserves playing time. Furthermore in midfield I would love to see some matic because he was great before the break. I also think Andreas has a lot to offer. But I think one of the most impressive characters this season has been Fred. He has flourished under Ole. If everyone plays to their full capabilities we can alter our entire starting 11 and still pose a dangerous threat.
I’d say without a proper right winger (Sancho), 4-4-2 diamond is suited more to this current United team with Matic (dmf), Pogba (lmf/amf), Scot/Fred (rmf), and Bruno (amf) as starting.
If only the game was played on paper... These videos always make me so excited for United's next games (especially during transfer windows)... but always eventually disappoint... Pogba and Bruno sounds really exciting... but how likely will they play well together?
